1. Precaution of Laser Diode
CAUTION:
Thisproduct utilizes alaser diode with the unitturned “on”,
invisiblelaser radiation isemitted from the pickup lens.
3
Wave length: 780nm
Maximum output radiation power from pickup: 100 W/VDE
Laser radiation from the pickup lens issafetylevel, but be sure the
followings:
1. Donot disassemblethe optical pickup unit, since radiation from
exposed laser diode isdangerous.
2. Donot adjust the variableresistor on the pickup unit. Itwas
alreadyadjusted.
3. Donot look at the focus lens using optical instruments.
4. Recommend not to look at pickup lens for along time.
ACHTUNG:
Dieses Produkt enthalteine Laserdiode. Imeingeschalteten
Zustand wird unsichtbare Leserstrahlung von der Lasereinheit
abgestrahlt.
Wellenlage: 780nm
MaximaleStrahlungsleistung der Lasereinheit: 100 W/VDE
DieStrahlung an der Lasereinheitist ungefahrlich, wenn folgende
Punkte beachtet werden:
1. DieLasereinheitnicht zerlegen, da dieStrahlung an der
freigelegten Laserdisde gefahrlich ist.
2. Den werkseitigjustierten Einstellregler der Lasereinhitnicht
verstellen.

4. Handling Precautions for Traverse Deck
The laserdiode inthe traverse deck (optical pickup) maybreak downdue topotential difference
causedbystatic electricityof clothes orhumanbody.
So, be careful of electrostatic breakdownduring repairof the traverse deck (optical pickup).
4.1. Handling the traverse deck (optical pickup)
1. The traverse deck (optical pickup) isan extremelyhigh-precision
construction and must not be subjected to impact, excessive
vibration, or other types of rough handling.
2. Inorder to prevent staticelectricitydamage to the laser diode, use
ashort pinor similar tool to short the optical pickup’sflexible
circuitboards after theyhave been disconnected from the main
circuitboard.
3. Handlethe flexiblecircuitboards with care; excessive force could
cause them to be broken.
4. Donot turn the pre-set variableresistor (for adjustment of the
laser power); ithas been adjusted at the factory.

4.2. Grounding for electrostaticbreakdownprevention
1. Human bodygrounding
Use the anti-staticwrist strap to discharge the staticelectricity
from your body. (as showninFig.2 )
2. Work tablegrounding
Put aconductive material (sheet) or steel sheet on the area where
the optical pickup isplaced, and fround the sheet. (as shownin
Fig.3 )
Caution
The staticelectricityof your clothes will not be grounded through
the wrist strap.
So, take care not to let your clothes touch the traverse deck (optical
pickup). Fig.2
