Now that your bike has been delivered, there are a few steps you need to
take to get it ready to ride.
Before your bike left our hands we went through a quality checklist that
is included in your paperwork. When you opened the box, you will see a
Pello that is 95% assembled. Please see below for a few things that are
needed to make it 100% complete.
Tools needed:
• 5mm and 6mm Allen wrenches (provided)
• 15mm open wrench (or adjustable crescent wrench)
• Phillips screwdriver
• Presta valve tire pump (we made sure the tires were
properly inflated when they left our shop but you may still need to
top them off. If you don’t have a presta valve pump, there is a presta
valve adapter in your welcome bag).
You will need these tools in order to perform the following:
• Install and secure the front wheel (Ripple, Romper
and Revo)
• Install and align the handlebars
• Install the pedals
• Install reflectors and bell
Please read all instructions first before assembly.
There was a lot of care given in packing your Pello to ensure it made it to
you without damage. Please use care when unpacking your new Pello and
please recycle responsibly.
After assembly and prior to riding your Pello, it is recommended that you
have your local bike shop or Qualified Bicycle Mechanic review your bike.

Install and secure the front wheel
*(Note: The Ripple, Romper and Revo require the provided 5mm Allen
wrench.)
Ripple, Romper & Revo = Loosen 5mm Allen bolts on each
side of wheel but do not remove.
Assembling your bike
Step 1/3
Reddi, Rover & Reyes = Remove screw nut from quick release
and insert quick release skewer into front hub as shown below
(you will find the quick release in the small parts box).
*(Kenda K-Rad tires are non-directional; however, for proper bike etiquette
it is recommended to place the quick release lever on the non-drive side of
the bike, i.e. the side without the chain)

Step 2/3
Ripple, Romper & Revo = Skip to next step
Reddi, Rover & Reyes = Now that the skewer is inserted
into the hub you will now hand tighten the screw nut
partially onto skewer with narrow side of spring going first
(please see image below)
Ripple, Romper & Revo = Rotate the stem and fork 180
degrees so they are both faceing forward (Note: Stem is still
loose and will be tightened when installing the handlebar).
Attach wheel to fork, ensure axle is properly seated in fork
dropouts and tighten both sides clockwise with 5mm Allen
key until secure. Please see illustration. (note: Because of
the cushy tires you may need to wiggle the tire a bit past the
front brake on Romper & Revo)
Step 3/3
Axle is securely
seated in dropout

Reddi = Attach wheel to fork and ensure quick release is seated
fully into the fork dropouts. Tighten screw nut until the quick
release lever is in closed position. (Look for the word “closed”
on the quick release when it is in it’s locked position). Please
see illustration. (note: Because of the cushy tires you may need
to wiggle the tire a bit past the brake on Reddi)
Rover & Reyes = Rotate the stem 180 degrees so it is faceing
forward (Note: Stem is still loose and will be tightened when
installing the handlebar). Attach wheel to fork. When attaching
wheel to fork make sure to align the disc rotor with the caliper,
please see illustration below. Once the quick release is seated
fully in the front dropouts tighten screw nut until the quick
release lever is in the closed position (you should see the
word “closed” on the quick release when in locked position).
**Note: Do not squeeze front brake lever until wheel is installed.
Squeezing without the rotor in place may cause miss-alignment
with the disc pads and rotor.
Step 3/3 Continued
Align rotor and
caliper so rotor
slides between
caliper brake
pads

Installing Handlebar to Stem
Unscrew stem fixing bolts (see images below) securing faceplate to
stem body. Insert handlebar between stem body and faceplate then
thread bolts back into the stem loosely. Adjust the handlebar to the
desired position to best fit your child (generally perpendicular to
the ground) then tighten the bolts 1/4 turn at a time in an X-pattern
(Romper & Revo) and Top-Bottom (Reddi & Rover). The faceplate
should be tightened evenly on the handlebar so the faceplate gap is
even top and bottom and the handlebar is secure. Align stem and fork
so they look straight when looking down onto handlebar, stem and front
wheel, then tighten stem body fixing bolts. Please see page 12 for
reference images of proper cable routing.
