User’s guide for the FMT120
(A) What is What?
(A:1) AUX sound output. Connect an RCA cord for sound recording.
(A:2) On/Off switch and volume adjustment for the driver.
(A:3) LED. Battery indicator.
(A:4) Volume adjustment for co-driver.
(A:5) Jack for Push to Talk (PTT) button.
(A:6) EXT connector for communication radio or mobile phone.
(A:7) Battery cover.
(A:8) Headset jack for driver (blue). Headset jack for co-driver (black).
(A:9) Rubber shield
(A:10) Switch for driver microphone level.
(A:11) Switch for microphone type – dynamic/electret.
(B) Functions
(B:1) Start-up
Install a 9 V battery or use the FC16 battery eliminator. Connect the helmets to the
intercom. Turn (A:2) clockwise to switch on the intercom, then adjust the volume
with (A:4) and (A:2).
(B:2) Select microphone type
The factory setting is for a dynamic microphone (DYN). When using the Peltor
electret microphone (MT54N-13) you must toggle a switch on the circuit board.
Remove the battery cover (A:7). Remove the battery (if any). Carefully lift the rub-
ber shield (A:9). Set switch (A:11) to ELE.
(B:3) Noise-cancelling the driver’s microphone
The factory setting is 0 dB. However, the driver’s microphone can be attenuated
by 10 dB. Remove the battery cover (A:7). Remove the battery (if any). Carefully
lift the rubber shield (A:9). Toggle switch (A:10) to the left, where it says –10 dB.
(B:4) LED indicator
The LED (A:3) normally glows green when the unit is switched on. When about 1
hour of battery power is left, the green light switches to red, indicating that it is time
to replace the battery. Note that the volume level and speech clarity are affected
by low battery power.
(C) External Connections
(C:1) Connecting a communication radio and Push to Talk (PTT) button.
To connect a communication radio, you need a Flex cord, FL6U-**; see (E:1). Flex
cords come with various connectors to suit different radios.
Contact your Peltor dealer for more information. You also need a PTT button to
operate the communication radio; see (E:3).

(C:2) Connecting a mobile phone
To connect a mobile phone, you need a Flex cord, FL6U-**; see (E:2). Flex cords
come with various connectors to suit different phones. In most cases you will also
need a small telephone adapter. Contact your Peltor dealer for more information.
Hint: Set the phone to automatic answer if desired.

Peltor does not provide RCA cords, but they can be bought at most radio shops.
Your video camera dealer can also help you find the right cord.

Instructions d’utilisation du FMT120
(A) Qu’est-ce qui est quoi

(B) Fonctions
(B:1) Démarrage
Installez une pile de 9 V ou utilisez FC16. Raccordez les casques à l’intercom.
Tournez (A:2) en sens horaire pour démarrer l’intercom et réglez ensuite le volume
avec (A:4) et (A:2).
(B:2) Adaptation du microphone
Le réglage usine de l’adaptation micro est microphone dynamique (position DYN).
En cas d’utilisation du microphone à électrets Peltor MT54N-13Il, il faut modifier
un commutateur sur le circuit imprimé. Retirez le couvercle du boîtier à pile (A:7).
Retirez la pile. Soulevez avec précaution la protection en caoutchouc (A:9).
Placez le commutateur (A:11) en position ELE.
(B:3) Atténuation du microphone du pilote
Le réglage usine est 0 dB, mais il est possible d’atténuer le microphone du pilote
de 10 dB. Retirez le couvercle du boîtier à pile (A:7). Retirez la pile. Soulevez avec
précaution la protection en caoutchouc (A:9). Poussez le commutateur (A:10) vers
la gauche en position −10 dB.
(B:4) Indications diode luminescente
La diode luminescente (A:3) reste normalement verte lorsque l’unité est branchée.
La lumière verte tourne au rouge lorsque la durée de la pile est d’environ une
heure. Il convient alors de remplacer la pile. Notez que le niveau sonore et l’audi-
bilité de la parole se détériorent en cas de faible tension de la pile.
(C) Raccordements externes
(C:1) Raccordement de radiocom et bouton Pousser pour parler (PTT).

Pour raccorder une radiocom, il faut utiliser un câble Flex, FL6U-**, voir (E:1). Il y
a des câbles Flex avec différentes fiches pour s’adapter à divers appareils radio.
Contactez votre revendeur agréé Peltor pour de plus amples renseignements. Il
faut également un bouton PTT pour manipuler la radiocom, voir (E:3).
(C:2) Raccordement de téléphone portable
Pour raccorder un téléphone portable, il faut utiliser un câble Flex, FL6U-**, voir
(E:2). Des câbles Flex avec différentes fiches s’adaptent à différentes utilisations.
Dans la plupart des cas, il faut un petit adaptateur téléphonique. Contactez votre
revendeur agréé Peltor pour de plus amples renseignements.
CONSEIL ! Réglez le téléphone en position de réponse automatique si néces-
saire.
(C:3) Raccordement de câble RCA pour la transmission sonore.
Vous trouverez des câbles RCA chez la plupart des revendeurs radio. Votre distri-
buteur de caméras vidéo pourra également vous aider à trouver le câble adéquat.
Peltor ne fournit pas ces câbles.

(A) Bestandteile

(B) Funktionen
(B:1) Inbetriebnahme
Eine 9-V-Batterie einlegen oder FC16 verwenden. Die Helme an die Sprechanlage
anschließen. Zum Einschalten (A:2) im Uhrzeigersinn drehen, dann mit (A:4) und
(A:2) die Lautstärke einstellen.
(B:2) Mikrofonanpassung
Werksseitig ist die Sprechanlage auf dynamisches Mikrofon eingestellt (DYN).
Soll Peltors Elektretmikrofon MT54N-13 verwendet werden, muss auf der
Leiterplatte ein Schalter umgestellt werden. Den Batteriedeckel (A:7) entfernen
und die Batterie herausnehmen. Den Gummischutz (A:9) vorsichtig anheben. Den
Schalter (A:11) auf ELE einstellen.
(B:3) Dämpfen des Fahrermikrofons
Werksseitige Einstellung 0 dB. Das Fahrermikrofon kann jedoch um 10 dB
gedämpft werden. Den Batteriedeckel (A:7) entfernen und die Batterie herausneh-
men. Den Gummischutz (A:9) vorsichtig anheben. Den Schalter (A:10) nach links
schieben, sodass er auf −10 dB steht.
(B:4) Anzeigen der Leuchtdiode
Die Leuchtdiode (A:3) leuchtet normalerweise grün, wenn das Gerät eingeschaltet
ist. Wenn die Batteriespannung abnimmt und nur noch ca. 1 Std. Betriebszeit ver-
bleibt, leuchtet die Diode rot. Dann ist ein Batteriewechsel nötig. Bitte beachten:
Eine niedrige Batteriespannung beeinträchtigt Lautstärke und Tonqualität.
(C) Externe Anschlüsse
(C:1) Anschluss von Funkgerät und Push to talk- (PTT-)Taste.

Zum Anschluss eines Funkgeräts ist ein sog. Flexkabel erforderlich, FL6U-**,
siehe (E:1). Flexkabel sind mit verschiedenen Steckern für verschiedene Geräte
erhältlich.
Mehr Information erhalten Sie bei Ihrem Peltor-Händler. Zur Steuerung des
Funkgeräts wird auch eine PTT-Taste benötigt, siehe (E:3).
(C:2) Anschluss eines Handys
Zum Anschluss eines Handys ist ein sog. Flexkabel erforderlich, FL6U-**, siehe
(E:2). Flexkabel sind mit verschiedenen Steckern für verschiedene Geräte erhält-
lich. Meistens ist auch ein einfacher Telefonadapter erforderlich. Mehr Information
erhalten Sie bei Ihrem Peltor-Händler.
TIPP! Auf Wunsch kann das Telefon auf automatische Antwortfunktion eingestellt
werden.
(C:3) Anschluss eines RCA-Kabels zur Tonaufnahme.
RCA-Kabel sind fast überall im Fachhandel erhältlich. Verkäufer von Videokameras
können ebenfalls bei der Auswahl des richtigen Kabels helfen. Diese Kabel gehö-
ren nicht zum Peltor-Sortiment.

Istruzioni per l’uso di FMT120

(B) Funzioni
(B:1) Attivazione
Installare una batteria da 9 V o utilizzare FC16. Collegare i caschi al sistema di
intercomunicazione. Girare (A:2) in senso orario per attivare il sistema di interco-
municazione, quindi regolare il volume con (A:4) e (A:2).
(B:2) Adattamento del microfono
L’impostazione di default per l’adattamento del microfono è Dinamico (posizione
DYN). Se si utilizza il microfono a elettrete Peltor MT54N-13, occorre modificare
la posizione di un commutatore del circuito. Rimuovere lo sportello della batteria
(A:7). Estrarre l’eventuale batteria. Sollevare con cautela la protezione in gomma
(A:9). Portare il commutatore (A:11) in posizione ELE.
(B:3) Attenuazione del microfono del pilota
L’impostazione di default è 0 dB. Tuttavia, è possibile attenuare il microfono del
pilota di 10 dB. Rimuovere lo sportello della batteria (A:7). Estrarre l’eventuale
batteria. Sollevare con cautela la protezione in gomma (A:9). Portare l’interruttore
(A:10) verso sinistra su −10 dB.
(B:4) Indicatore LED
Generalmente, quando l’unità è attivata, il LED (A:3) è acceso con luce verde.
Quando l’autonomia della batteria scende a circa 1 ora, il LED diventa rosso. È
giunto il momento di sostituire la batteria. Quando la batteria è quasi scarica, il
livello acustico e la riproduzione delle voci peggiorano.
