Whenproperlycaredfor,yourgrillwillprovide safe, reliableserviceformanyyears.However,extreme
caremustbe used asthegrill producesintenseheat that canincreaseaccidentpotential.
Whenusingthisappliancebasicsafetypracticesmustbe followed, includingthefollowing:
•Donotrepairorreplaceanypart ofthegrill unlessspecificallyrecommended inthismanual. All
otherserviceshouldbereferredtoaqualified technician.
•Thegrillisforoutdooruseonly.
•The grillisnot intendedtobe installedinoronrecreationalvehiclesand/orboats.
•Childrenshouldnotbeleft alone orunattendedinanareawherethegrillisbeing used.Donot
allowchildrentosit,stand orplayonoraroundthegrillat anytime.
•Donot storeitemsofinteresttochildren around orbelowthe grillorcart.Donotallowchildren to
crawlinsidethecart.
•Neverletclothing,potholdersorotherflammablematerialscomeincontactwithortoocloseto
anygrate,burnerorhot surfaceuntil it hascooled.The fabriccouldignite,causingserious
personalinjury.
•Forpersonalsafety,wearproperapparel.Loosefittinggarmentsorsleevesshouldneverbe worn
whileusing thisappliance.Somesyntheticfabrics arehighly flammableandshouldnotbe worn
whilecooking.
•Onlycertaintypesofglass,ceramic,earthenware,orotherglazedutensilsaresuitableforgrilluse.
Othertypesofmaterialsmayshatterwithsudden temperaturechanges.Useonlylowormedium
heat settingsinaccordancewiththemanufacturer’sguidelines.
•Donot heatunopened foodcontainersasabuild-upof pressuremaycausethecontainerstoburst.
•Useacovered handwhenopeningthegrill lid.Neverleanoveranopengrill.
•Whenlightingaburner,alwayspaycloseattentiontowhatyou aredoing. Makecertainyou are
awareofwhichburneryou arelighting sothat yourbodyand clothingremainclearofopen flames.
•Whenusingthegrill, donottouchthegrill rack,burnergrateorimmediatesurroundingsasthese
areasbecomeextremelyhotandcouldcauseburns. Useonlydrypotholders.Moistordamp
potholdersonhotsurfacesmaycausesteamburns.Donotuseatowelorbulkyclothinplaceof
potholders. Donot allowpotholderstotouchhot portionsofthegrillrack.
•Greaseisflammable.Lethotgreasecoolbeforeattempting tohandleit. Donotallowgrease
depositstocollectinthe greasetrayatthebottomofthegrill’sfirebox.Cleanthe greasetrayoften.
•Donot usealuminumfoiltolinethegrill racks orgrill bottom.Thiscanseverelyupset combustion
airflowortrap excessiveheat inthecontrolarea.
•Forproperlighting and performanceoftheburners,keepthe burnerportsclean.Itis necessaryto
cleanthemperiodicallyforoptimumperformance. Theburnerswill onlyoperateinonepositionand
mustbe mountedcorrectlyforsafeoperation. (See “Careand Maintenance”instructionsonpage

•Cleanthegrillwithcaution.Toavoidsteamburns,donotuseawet spongeorclothtocleanthe
grill whileit ishot. Somecleanersproducenoxiousfumesorcan igniteif applied toahotsurface.
