PAGE 2 INTRODUCTION

ID-3000 Description
The Polaroid ID-3000 Digital Security and Identification
System is a computerized workstation for producing
highly secure photo- identification cards andfor electroni-
cally storing text data, portraits and other identification
images for each applicant. The system includes all
equipment for capturing portraits and other images and
entering applicant text data.
Electronic storage of applicant information allows rapid
retrieval for updating, reissuing and verifying. It also al-
lows data stored on other, non-ID-3000 systems to be
imported and reused without recapturing images or re-
typing data.
Multiple identification-card formats can be stored in the
system, and each applicant’s appropriate format can be
selected automatically or manually at the time of issue.
The ID-3000 system can be linked to other computers in
a network system, or it can be operated as a completely
self-contained, stand-alone unit. In either configuration,
a system of passwords and usernames prevents un-
authorized use and provides a detailed record of all ac-
tivities.
