SystemInstallationandWiring
CameraSysteminstallationonvariousvehiclesmayrequireaslightlydifferentwiringinstall.Theseinstallationinstructionsdonotapplytoalltypesof
vehicles.Theyaremeantonlyasageneralguideduetothelargenumberofvehiclemakesandmodels.Consultyourlocalmotorvehiclelawsonthe
useofthisproducttobesureitispermitted.Throughinstallationofthisbackupcamerasystem,youshouldbesureastonotdegrade,damageor
compromisethesafetyofanysystemordeviceonyourvehicle.Improperinstallationandwiringofthevehicleback‐upcamerasystemmaydamage
thevehicle'selectricalsystem,includingvitalvehiclecomputerandoperatingsystems.Thatcouldleadtoanaccidentorfire,causingproperty
damageand/orseriouspersonalinjury.Itishighlyrecommendedtoseekprofessionalinstallationadvicefromaqualifiedautoelectricianor,inthe
alternative,tohavetheinstallationperformedbyaqualifiedautoelectrician.
PleaseensurethatyourmonitorassemblyissecuredandmountedwhereitwouldNOTobstructanyOEMvehiclesafetyfeatures.Inaneventofan
accident,themanufacturerisnotresponsibleforbodilyinjurycausedbythemonitorbeingaprojectile.Thisrearviewmirrorassemblysystemistobe
mountedoveryourvehicle'sexistingrearviewmirror.Ensuremonitorlocationwillnotobstructyourvisionwhiledriving.Thesystemhasaclamp‐
lockingmechanismwhicheasilyclampsoveryourvehicle'srearviewmirror.Themanufacturerassumesnoliabilityfordamagecausedtoyourvehicle
duetoimproperinstallationoruse.
QuickInstallation:
Thebackupcamerasystemiscompatiblewithawiderangeofvehiclesandvideodisplaymonitors.
(especiallysuitablefortheincludedrearviewmirrorandmonitorassembly.)Thesystemincludes(2)DC12Vpowercables.
Thiskitincludesnecessarywiringandcableconnectoraccessoriessufficientfortypicalconnections.However,
additionalaccessorycablesandinstallationmaterialsmaybenecessaryforacompletelysecureand
operationalbackupcameraperformance.
CameraConnection:
ConnectthecamerausingoneoftheDC12Vpowercables.Usetheredwiretoconnecttothepositive12V
reversetaillightintherearofyourcar.Youmayneedtotemporarilyremoveaninteriorpanelorothercover.
Then,connecttheblackwireoftheDC12Vpowercableandgroundproperly.(Redwireispositive,blackwireis
negative).ThisDC12Vpowercableconnectstothecameraandwillsupplypowertothecameradirectly.Finally,
securetheyellowRCAvideoconnectionandruntheyellowvideocablefromthecameratotherearviewmirror
assembly.*Remember,connectingtothewhitevideoinputofthemirrorassemblywillprovideapictureonly
whenthevehicleisplacedinreversegear.
RearviewMirrorMonitorAssemblyConnection:
ConnecttherearviewmirrormonitorassemblyusingtheotherDC12Vpowercable.Usetheredwiretoconnect
toyourvehicle'sfusepanel(preferablytothe12Vignitionswitch).Youmayneedtotemporarilyremovean
interiorpanelorothercover.Then,connecttheblackwireoftheDC12Vpowercableandgroundproperly.
ThisDC12Vpowercableconnectstotherearviewmirrormonitorandwillsupplypowertothecameradirectly.
Caution:Thisunitisdesignedtooperateon12VDCNEGATIVEGROUNDelectricalsystems.Connectingtoothertypesofelectrical
systemswillcausedamagetoyourvehicle.Pleasecontactthemanufacturerifyouareunawareofthesystemtypeinyourvehicle.
ThewhitevideoinputconnectorfromtherearviewmirrorassemblyservesastheReverseSignalSenseandtakes
priorityovertheyellowvideoinputconnector.
Ifyouconnectthecameratotheyellowvideoinputofthemirrorassembly,therewillbeaconstantpicturedisplayedon
theLCDdisplay.
Ifyouconnectthecameratothewhitevideoinputofthemirrorassembly,therewillbeapicturedisplayedontheLCD
displayonlywhenthevehicleisplacedinreversegear.
MirrorAssemblyMounting
Therearviewmirrorassemblymountsoveryourexistingrearviewmirrorhousing.Thespring‐typeclampmechanism
easilyfitsoveryourrearviewmirrorandsitsontopofit,withoutcausinganydamage.Usetwohandstofirmlyholdthe
newmirrorassemblyoveryourexistingmirror,withonehandholdingthemirror,andtheotherexpandingthespring‐type
clampmechanism.
MirrorAssemblyButtonControls
Locatedinthebackoftherearviewmirrorassemblyarebuttoncontrols.Thetopandbottombuttonsserveassettings
adjustmentcontrols(UP/DOWN),whilethecenterbuttoncanbepressedtoaccesssettingslike:brightness,contrast,
saturation,tint,mode(16:9,4:3),languageandsettingsRESET.
‐Determinethebestlocationforthecamera(Keepinmindthatyoumustrunthecablefromthecameratothetransmitter).Youmay
needtodrillasmallholeinthepanelnearyourlicenseplate(Thecameraispreferablymountedjustabovethelicenseplate).
‐Besurewhenrunningtheconnectioncablestoleaveasmallamountofslacksoyoucanstillmovethecameraaroundthelicense
plate,ifyoudecidetoslightlyadjustthecamera'spositioningatalatertime.
‐ Testthecamera,activateyourvehicleandseeifthesystemfunctions.Yourconnectedmonitorwillautomaticallypoweronif
properlyconnectedtoapowersource.Placingyourvehicleinreverseshouldprovideapicture(ifconnectedthroughthewhitevideo
inputofthemirrorassembly.
