Portable Power Pack Instructions
The RESCUE 4000 and RESCUE 4050 are extended-duty wheeled-cart style portable power
packs engineered for the demanding conditions at parking facilities, auto and truck dealers,
and similar situations. The RESCUE 4000 provides jump starting and 12V accessory power as
well as internal and external battery charging. The RESCUE 4050 adds the convenience of an
on-board air compressor.
1. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury, destruction of the power
pack, or damage to your vehicle.
2. Read owner’s manual before use.
3. Wear safety goggles whenever working around vehicle batteries.
4. Wear gloves and protective clothing.
• This product requires the owner to install a Group 24 Sealed Lead Acid Battery. Installing
any other battery type will void your warranty, could permanently damage the power pack,
and could lead to personal injury from spilled battery acid.
• Your portable power pack is NOT designed to replace a vehicle’s battery.
• Do NOT use the portable power pack if any cable, clamp or power cord is damaged.
• Avoid short circuits. Do NOT allow the clamps to touch each other or any conductive
material.
• Do NOT store the portable power pack where temperatures will exceed 120°F (49°C).
• If your portable power pack fails to operate properly, contact Quick Cable for instructions to
return the unit to an authorized repair center.
1. Attach handle support. (Fig. 1)
• The handle is shipped folded down. Before
using the portable power pack, raise the handle
and install the handle support using the four
supplied screws.
2. Install a group 24 battery.
• A Sealed Lead Acid battery is required for this
application.
• Tipping the cart could cause acid spills during
normal use.
• Only use a Sealed Lead Acid Battery in this
application.
• Unit damage from battery acid is not covered
by warranty.

• Remove the lower back panel. (Refer to Fig. 2)
• Loosen the battery hold-down strap and install the battery. Tighten
the hold-down strap to make sure the battery is secure.
• Connect the positive cable (identified with red heat-shrink near the
connector) to the positive battery terminal.
• Connect the negative cable to the negative battery terminal.
• Reinstall the back panel. (Fig. 2)
3. RESCUE 4050 only
• Connect the supplied air hose to the threaded air outlet on the
back panel. (Fig. 3)
Charging the internal battery
• The battery charger power cord is permanently
installed and wrapped around the cleats on the
back of the unit.
• Plug the unit into a 120V AC outlet.
• Set the rocker switch on the front of the unit to
INTERNAL. (Fig. 4)
o When the battery is charging, the LED light will be lighted red. When the battery is fully
charged the LED will turn green.
o The charger will go to float mode when the battery is fully charged (13.6V).
o Check the charge of the internal battery using the battery test button and voltage gauge
on the front of the unit. (Fig. 6)
o Connect the positive (red) battery clamp to the
positive terminal of the battery to be charged.
o Connect the negative (black) battery clamp to the
negative terminal of the battery to be charged.
o The voltmeter on the front of the RESCUE
4000/4050 will automatically read the voltage of
the external battery.
o If the voltage is above 5V, plug the power cord
of the RESCUE 4000/4050 into a 120V AC outlet
and set the rocker switch on the front of the unit to
EXTERNAL. (Fig. 5)
o When the battery is charging, the LED will be
lighted red. When the battery is fully charged, the
LED will turn green.
• Be sure the switch on the back of the RESCUE 4000/4050 is in the OFF position before
connecting clamps to a battery.
• If the voltage reading is below 5V, OR if there is no reading at all on the volt meter,
DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHARGE.

o Connect the positive (red) battery clamp to the
positive terminal of the discharged battery.
o Connect the negative (black) battery clamp to
a suitable vehicle ground such as an alternator
bracket—away from the vehicle battery.
o The voltmeter on the front of the RESCUE
4000/4050 will automatically read the voltage of
the discharged battery.
o If the voltage is above 5V, turn the switch on
the back of the RESCUE 4000/4050 to the on
position.
o The unit is ready to jump start the disabled
vehicle.
o When the vehicle starts, turn Rescue 4000/4050
off remove the black and then the red battery
clamps and store them in the provided pockets
on the RESCUE 4000/4050.
o Recharge after use.
o The model 4050 is supplied with an air hose
with an integrated inflator and pressure
gauge. A rocker switch on the back panel
turns the compressor on and off.
o The compressor has a 40% duty cycle.
• Be sure the switch on the back of the RESCUE 4000/4050 is in the OFF position before
connecting clamps to a vehicle for jump starting.
• The RESCUE 4000/4050 is equipped with a polarity alarm. If the cables are connected
incorrectly, the alarm will sound. DISCONNECT the cables immediately and check the
polarity of the discharged battery. Reconnect the cables insuring the positive (red) battery
clamp is on the positive battery terminal and the negative (black) clamp is connected to a
vehicle ground away from the battery.
• If the voltage reading is below 5V, OR if there is no reading at all on the volt meter,
DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START.
WARNING – Risk of explosion or fire
o Periodically check the internal battery voltage and recharge the unit when the voltage
drops below 12.5V. Keeping the battery fully charged will insure that your RESCUE
4000/4050 is ready when you need it.
o The built-in float charger will maintain your battery at full charge. You can safely plug the
RESCUE 4000/4050 into a 120V AC outlet whenever it is not in use to maintain a full
battery charge.

The Manufacturer warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship for
one (1) year from the date of original retail purchase. Quick Cable will, at its option, repair
or replace defective units.
Quick Cable encourages you to register your product at www.quickcable.com/register and
to retain your original sales receipt with this manual for warranty purposes.
This warranty does not apply to the user-installed battery.
Damage caused by misuse or improper connections, failure to follow prescribed
operating instructions, impact damage, or negligence is not covered by this warranty. The
manufacturer reserves the right to inspect units for improper use in determining warranty
coverage.
EXCEPT FOR THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT
MADE AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION
OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, DIRECT OR INDIRECT, INCLUDING BUT
NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, AND ANY
IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THIS LIMITED,
CONDITIONAL WARRANTY PROVIDES THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM
OR DAMAGE EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE REQUIRED BY LAW.
This warranty excludes and does not cover defects or failures of your PORTABLE POWER
PACK due to any cause other than defects in material or workmanship, including without
limitation any malfunctions or failures caused by repairs made by an unauthorized person,
mishandling, modifications, normal wear, improper storage and unreasonable use or
damage.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE MANUFACTURER BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR
INCIDENTAL DAMAGES. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental
or consequential damages so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary
from state to state.
Any claim relating to the Portable Power Pack must be submitted within one (1) year of
purchase and must be sent to Quick Cable in the U.S.A or Canada.
If any portion of this warranty or limitation of rights and remedies is found to be
unenforceable, then the remainder of this document shall remain in full force and effect.

• Retire el panel de la espalda baja. (Refiérase a la Fig. 2.)

3. RESCUE 4050 sólo

Carga de la batería interna
• El cargador de batería cable de alimentación

o El cargador va a flotar modo cuando la batería está completamente cargada (13.6).
o Verificar la carga de la batería interna utilizando el botón de prueba de la batería y el medidor
de tensión en la parte frontal de la unidad. (Fig. 6)
o Conecte el cable positivo (rojo) la abrazadera
de la batería al terminal positivo de la batería a
cargar.
o Conectar el cable negativo (negro) abrazadera
de la batería al terminal negativo de la batería a
cargar.
o El voltímetro o en la parte frontal de la 4000/4050
DE RESCUE leerá automáticamente el voltaje de
la batería externa.
o Si la tensión es superior a 5 V, conecte el cable
de alimentación de la RESCUE 4000/4050 a una
toma de 120V AC y establecer el interruptor en la
parte frontal de la unidad para EXTERNO. (Fig. 5)
o Cuando la batería se está cargando, el LED se
iluminará de color rojo. Cuando la batería está
completamente cargada, el LED se iluminará en
verde.
• Asegúrese de que el interruptor en la parte posterior de la 4000/4050 DE RESCATE está
en la posición OFF antes de conectar pinzas a una batería.
• Si la lectura de voltaje está por debajo de 5V, o si no hay ningún dato en absoluto en el
voltímetro, desconecte los cables BATERÍA. NO TRATE DE CARGA.

DE RESCUE leerá automáticamente el voltaje de
la batería descargada.
o Si el voltaje está por encima de 5V, apague el
interruptor en la parte posterior de la RESCUE
4000/4050 a la posición de encendido.
o El aparato está listo para iniciar su vehículo
averiado.
