textileapplications,theRasor®products arenowadayswidelyusedin

furnituremanufacturing.

Thismanualisan integralpartofelectricscissorsDS503andmustbecarefully

readbeforeusingthem,sinceitgivesimportantindicationswithregardsto

theirsafeinstallation,useandmaintenance.Keepthemwithcare.

BeforeusingelectricscissorsDS503,readcarefullythefollowinggeneralsafety

rules.

•PACKAGING.

Aftertakingoffthepackagingmakesurethattheelectricscissorsareintact.

IncaseofdoubtdonotusethemandcontactanAuthorizedServiceCentre.

Donotleavepiecesofpackaging(plasticbags,foampolystyrene,boxes,etc.)

withinthereachofchildrenordisabledpersons,sincetheyarepotentialsources

ofdanger.

•AVOIDDANGEROUSENVIRONMENTS.

PreventtheelectricscissorsDS503componentsfromcomingincontactwith

damporwetsurfaces.

•KEEPCHILDRENAWAY.

Unauthorizedpersons,inparticularchildren,mustbekeptawayfromthe

workingarea.

•FEEDCABLE.

Preventthefeedcablefromcomingincontactwithhot objects,pointed

surfacesorsharpedges.Neverpullthefeedcableof theelectricscissors.It

mustneverbereplacedbytheuser.Ifnecessarycontactprofessionallyqualified

staff.

•KEEPTHE WORKINGAREAALWAYSINORDER.

Theworkplacemustalwaysbekeptinorderandwell lightened;liquidsoroil

tracesmustnotbepresent.

•ALWAYS USEELECTRICSCISSORSDS503PROPERLY.

Usethescissorsonlytocarryouttheworks theyhavebeendesignedfor;do

notusethemimproperly.

•OBSERVETHEUSEOFTHE TOOLS.

Donotcutexcessivelythickmaterialsandalwayscheckbladeconditions.

•AVOIDACCIDENTALSTARTINGS.

BeforeconnectingelectricscissorsDS503, makesurethateverythingisinstalled

properly.

•CLOTHING.

Donotuselargeclothesoraccessoriesthatmightgetstuck inthemoving

parts.

•GOGGLESANDPROTECTIVEMETALMESHGLOVES.

Always usegoggles,protectivemetalmesh glovesapprovedbyRasor®during

useandmaintenanceoperations(accordingtoUNIEN388:2004standard).

•SPAREPARTS.

Duringmaintenanceandreplacementoperations useonlyoriginalspareparts.

Blademaintenancemust beonlyperformedbyRasor®technicians.

•INSTALLATION.

Anyinstallationthatisnotinconformitywiththese

specifications couldjeopardizeyoursafetyandcancelsthe

warranty.

Theelectricscissorsaredeliveredinacarryingcase,insidewhichtherearevarious options.

Thecodeof theorderedproductandits serialnumberareindicatedoutsidethepackage

(see picture1).Thefollowingaccessoriesarecontainedinabaginsidethepackage:

1) Hexagonalblade;

2) Greasetube;

3) Brushesforelectricmotor;

4) Fuse;

5) Driftforbladedisassembly;

6) Butterflywrenchforbladenutdisassembly.

3.PLATE DATA

Themanufacturer'sidentificationandECSTANDARD2006/42/ECconformityplate(see picture

below) islocatedonthefrontpartof theelectricscissors.

The plate mustnotbe removedatall, evenifthe equipment isresold.Alwaysrefer

tothe serialnumberwrittenontheplate itselfwhencontactingthe manufacturer.

Severalsafetywarningsareprintedonacardwhichisappliedto theelectricscissorsfeed

cable;suchwarningsmust bestrictlyfollowedbyeveryonedealingwiththeelectricscissors.

Thecompanyisnottobe heldresponsiblefordamagetopropertyoraccidentsto

peoplewhich might occur iftheabove-mentionedwarnings arenotobserved.In

such acase,theoperatoristheonlypersonresponsible.

4. PRODUCTDESCRIPTION

ThismanualdescribeselectricscissorsmodelDS503, whichareusedinorderto quicklycut

textilematerialsandleathers.Theyareextremelyversatile,lightandpreciseinthecutting

operation.

Thanksto theuseof anewfoot,thecuttingprocedureisveryquick andeffective,even

whenthebendingradius isparticularlynarrow.Onespecialfeatureof electricscissorsDS503

istheirabilityto sharpenthebladeineachmomentwithoutdisassemblingitbymeans of a

grindingwheelmountedonthescissors head.Aftercarryingoutthisoperation,itis possible

tostartcuttingagain.TheelectricscissorsDS503areextremelylight(theyweighonly

950g) andhandyandallowcarryingoutquick andprecisecuts.

Ahighpowermotor,perfectlybalanced,withahighnumberof revolutions andtotallyfree

of maintenance,reduces thevibrations to theminimum.Forthisreason theelectricscissors

complywithEuropeanDirectiveNo. 2002/44/ECconcerningtherisksderivingfrommechanical

vibrations.Themechanicalpartsaremadeof high-qualitysteelandbronzeandrequire

lubricationafterseveralworkinghours.

concerningsafetyof workers:Italianlegislativedecree 81/08.Theuseof earprotecting

devicesiscompulsory.

Themaximum acousticpressurelevelemittedbyelectricscissorsDS503 isabout60 dB(A).

Noisetests havebeencarriedoutincompliancewithStandardUNIENISO11202:2010.

Thedevicenoiselevels,measuredatdifferentdistances(withoutanysoundwavefiltering

system),varyintheextentof fewdb (A).

ElectricscissorsDS503 havebeendesigned,manufacturedandassembledto cuteverykind

of fabricsormaterials,withtheexceptionofmetal,plasticorwood,bymeans of rotary

circular,decagonalorhexagonalblades.

Thisequipmentmust not work:

-inareasproneto explosions;

-inpresenceof finedustorcorrosivegases;

-onwetordampmaterials;

-to cutplastic,metalandwoodenmaterials.

Itisforbiddentouseelectric scissorsDS503 for purposesdifferentfrom the above-

mentionedones.

Eventhoughtheelectricscissorsaresafe,operatorsmust becarefulto preservetheirand

otherpeople’ssafety.

LAttheendof theworkingoperations,themotorandthemetalparts couldbevery

hot.

LThecuttingbladecanworkevenwhentheprotectivedeviceisdisassembled.

8.USE WARNINGS

We recommendfollowingtheindications belowinorderto alwaysworkinsafetyconditions.

·All theoperations must becarriedoutcomplyingstrictlywiththesafetyrulesof the

countrywheretheequipmentisto beinstalled.

·It is STRICTLY FORBIDDENto smokeduringtheinstallation oradjustmentoperations of

theelectricscissors.

·TheCustomerundertakesto complywithandmakehisstaff observeall therulesand

regulations inforceconcerningsafety,preventionof accidents andhealthinthework

place.Therefore,theCustomerassumestheresponsibilityto strictlyfollowall therules

andregulations inforce,aswell asthespecialprovisions inforceinsportandpublic

installations theCustomerdeclaresto knowafterreceivingall therelevantnecessary

information.

·Theelectricscissorswork alsowithouttheirsafetyprotectivedevice.This

protectivedevicemustNEVERbe removed.

·Alwayschecktheresistanceofthematerialtobecutandthekindofbladewhichisbeing

used.

·TheCustomershall equiphis own personnelwith all theindividualsafetyprotections for

theexecutionof theworks,aswell aswiththeoneswhichmightbeprescribedbythe

Manufacturerdueto specificdangerconditions of theplantorof thearea wherethe

personnelmust work.

·Onlyoneoperatormustusetheelectricscissorsalwaysstandingbehindtheguide

handle.Donot makeanyadjustmentwhilethebladeisworkingorwhiletheelectric

plugisconnected.

·Alwayspayattentionto theelectriccablepositionto preventitfrombeingcutor

damagedbytheblade.

·It isallowedto assembleelectricscissorsDS503 onmachinesO.E.M.onconditionthat

theiroriginalstructureisnot modified.Otherwise,theinterventionmust becertifiedby

Rasor®.

10. USE

Tousetheelectricscissorsmanually,proceedasfollows:

1) Laythematerialto becutonatable;

2) Connectthescissorsto thepowersupply;

3) Putthematerialonthecuttingfoot;

4) Enabletheenablingpush button(see pict.3);

5) Push theelectricscissorsinthedesireddirection,

beingcarefulto keepthematerialinfrontof them

asstretchedaspossibleandpreventingitfrom

curlinginthefrontpartof thescissors.

NOTE

Thethrustontheelectricscissorsmust beasuniform

aspossible.Tocarryoutlinearcuts withprecision(and

tofollowpredeterminedpaths),wealsorecommend

usingthearrowpoint(see point“A”inpicture4).

11.MOTOR FUSE REPLACEMENT

Inorderto replacethemotorfuse,proceedasfollows:

1) Disconnectthescissorsfromthepowersupply;

2) Removethescrewfromthefusecover(see

point“A”inpicture5);

3) Takeouttheglass fusebymeans of theproper

plierssupplied(see picture6);

4) Verifyits integrity(see picture7)and,incase,install anew

fusecheckingthecorrectamperage;

5) Closethecoverandtightenthescrew.

WARNING

Neverusethescissorswhenthefusecoverisopen.

13. BLADESHARPENING

12. REPLACEMENTOFTHEMOTOR BRUSHES

ElectricscissorsDS503 areprovidedwithahighpower

permanentmagnetmotorandtorque.Forthisreason

itisnecessaryto check periodicallyifthecarbonbrushes

areworn in ordernot to jeopardizethemotoroperation

anditsdurationperiod.Unscrewthecapslocatedon

thecoverbymeans of aslottedscrewdriver(see picture

8);withdrawthecarbonbrushes,check iftheyareworn

and,ifneeded,replacethem.Assemblethetwocaps

again,beingcarefulto holdtheminaperfectlyvertical

position,andscrewthemcompletelyonlywhenyou

aresurethattheyarecorrectlypositioned.

Note: Thebrush must beinsertedwithits black part

directedinsidethemotor.

Note: Aslightdifferenceinthewearof thetwobrushesisabsolutelynormalinapermanent

magnetmotor.Nevertheless,intheeventthatthedifferencebetweenthemisexcessive,

itisnecessaryto applyto atechnicalcenterforacompletecheck of thefixture.

Beforecarryingoutanyoperations ontheelectricscissors,makesurethatthesupplyplug

isnot connectedto themains.

WARNING

Aftermanyhoursofacontinuativeuseof theelectric

scissorsoriftheyarenot ableto cutanymore,itis

necessaryto sharptheblade.Tocarryoutthisoperation,

startthebladeandpress sharpeningbutton“1”for3-4

seconds(asshowninpicture9).Repeatthisoperation

2-3times.

Ifthesharpeningprocess shouldbeineffective,check

thewearof theemerygrindingwheel“2”(see picture

9).Ifwheel“2”istoo wornordirty,replaceitbyremoving

thebladebymeans of thepropertool.
