Important Safety
Information
Read this manual carefully before installing the SmartRow system.
•Follow all safety information presented within this manual.
•If you require assistance with any portion of the installation or service of your Raven equipment,
contact your local Raven dealer for support.
•Follow all safety labels affixed to the SmartRow system components. Be sure to keep safety labels
in good condition and replace any missing or damaged labels. To obtain replacements for missing
or damaged safety labels, contact your local Raven dealer.
When operating the machine after installing SmartRow, observe the following safety measures:
•Be alert and aware of surroundings.
•Do not operate SmartRow or any agricultural equipment while under the influence of alcohol or an
illegal substance.
•Remain in the operator’s position in the machine at all times when SmartRow is engaged.
•Do not drive the machine with SmartRow enabled on any public thorough-fare or main road.
•Ensure SmartRow is disabled prior to starting any maintenance work on SmartRow or the machine.
Please review the operation and safety instructions included with your implement and/or controller.

Electrical Safety
Do not reverse power leads. Doing so could cause severe damage to the equipment. Always make
sure that the power leads are connected to the correct polarity as marked. Ensure that the power cable
is the last cable to be connected.

Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Raven SmartRow™ system! This system is designed to
provide worry-free turn on and turn off of your row units with respect to an as-applied coverage area.
The following instructions are designed to assist you in the proper installation of the SmartRow
system. See the Operation Manual of your SmartRow console for instructions on setting up the
software and using the SmartRow system.

Observe the following recommendations while installing the SmartRow system:
•Use part numbers to identify parts.
•Do not remove the plastic wrapping from a part until it is necessary for installation.
•Do not remove plastic caps from a part until it is necessary for installation.

Before you begin assembling the kit, compare the items in your SmartRow kit with this list. If you have
