• Maintainacontinuousplot ofpositiononacurrentchart.Ensurethe
lockedautopilotheadingsteersyouclearofallobstacles.Make
properallowance for TidalSet–the autopilotcannot!
• EvenwhenyourautopilotislockedontothedesiredTrackusinga
radionavigationreceiver,alwaysmaintainalogandmakeregular
positionalplots.Radionavigationsignalscanproducesignificant
errorsundersomecircumstancesandtheautopilotcannotdetectthis
situation.
• Makesurethatallmembersofcrewarefamiliarwiththeprocedures
todisengagetheautopilot.
