Grill Compact

Carefully read the user guide and ensure that the grill is assembled, installed, used and

maintained correctly in accordance with the instructions therein. Retain the for future use.

USE

• This grill is a charcoal and briquette grill that is designed for outdoor use only.

• Only charcoal and briquettes may be used to heat the grill.

• The grill is designed for private use only.

SAFETY

• The grill must not be used indoors.

• The grill must stand on a stable, ﬁrm and ﬂat surface whilst in use.

• Position the grill at a safe distance away from trees, bushes, walls and

other combustible materials.

• Due to the risk of deoxygenation, the grill must not be used in enclosed

areas.

• Remember, the grill will get hot when lit. Consequently, children and pets

should be kept at a safe distance.

• Do not move the grill once it has been lit. Wait until the coals have fully

extinguished and the grill has completely cooled before moving the grill.

• Allow the grill to completely cool before cleaning.

• Use gloves and grilling tools in order to avoid suering burn injuries

whilst grilling.

• Never use methylated spirits or petrol to light the grill.

• Never leave the grill unattended.

• Never use water to reduce ﬂames or to extinguish coals as doing so may

damage the ceramic/powder coated surface.

• Never throw briquettes/coals away until you are absolutely sure that they

have been extinguished.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL ASSEMBLY

• Read the assembly instructions thoroughly before starting to build the grill.

• Assemble the grill on a clean and even surface where there is no chance of any parts

falling o.

• Before starting assembly: Remove all parts from the packaging and sort them using

the assembly instructions.

• If you ﬁnd that the grill is incomplete, please contact Rusta Customer Services.

• To assemble the grill, you may need an adjustable spanner, a Phillips screwdriver and

a pair of pliers (not included).

• Once all parts have been assembled, tighten all the screws. This facilitates assembly

and increases grill stability.

Charcoal/grill briquettes

Notice! Briquettes/charcoal must

always be placed in the charcoal

bowl, which in turn must be

placed on the charcoal grate in the

bottom of the grill. If you do not do

LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS

• We recommend that you do not use lighter ﬂuid when lighting this grill. There is a risk

that lighter ﬂuid may drip down and set the ash recepticle on ﬁre, which may result in

the grill becoming discoloured. Never use petrol or methylated spirits to light the grill

as it may produce uncontrollable heat as the result of explosions. Instead, use one of

the ignition methods described below.

• The briquettes/coals are ready for grilling once they exhibit an even glow and are

covered by a grey “skin”. Do not use too many briquettes/coals, one layer will be

sucient. Otherwise, the grill may suer damage.

• Notice! Briquettes/charcoal must always be placed in the charcoal bowl, which in

turn must be placed on the charcoal grate in the bottom of the grill. If you do not do

this, you run the risk of damaging the grill.

IGNITION USING A GRILL STARTER/CHIMNEY STARTER

• Place 2–3 st ﬁrelighters on the coal grate in the bottom of the grill

• Fill the grill starter. with the required number of briquettes/coals and palce it over the

source of ignition

• Light and wait until an even glow has been achieved.

• Pour the briquettes/coals onto the coal grate.

• Allow the grillstarter to cool on a non-combustible surface.

IGNITION USING ELECTRIC LIGHTER

• Place a few briquettes/coals on the coal grate in the bottom of the grill.

• Place the electric lighter on top of the briquettes/coals.

• Cover the electric lighter with more briquettes/coals.

• Connect the electric lighter to a power socket and wait until the briquettes/coals are

ready to use.

• Remove the electric lighter, disconnect the plug from the power socket and leave the

lighter to cool on a non-comustible surface.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Allow all parts of the grill to cool completely before cleaning them.

• The grill must be thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis. If the grill is used in

particularly corrosive environments, e.g. coastal locations, it is vital that it is cleaned

frequently. Otherwise, salt and moisture may cause the protective surface layer of the

grill to degrade, creating patches of surface rust.

• When the grill is not in use, it must be protected from rain and contaminants by a grill

cover. This prevents the grill collecting dirt and developing surface rust.

• Before putting the grill into long term storage, e.g. over the winter, it must be

thoroughly cleaned, dryed and stored under a grill cover in a dry and dust-free

environment.

CLEANING THE GRILL GRATE

• Do not use sharp objects to clean the grill grate as doing so may damage the grate

surface.

• It is not necessary to clean the grill grate after each use. Just remove any residue with

a brush and wipe with paper towels.

• However, the grate should be cleaned thoroughly every now and again. Use water and

a mild detergent. Rinse with clean water and leave to dry.

• Before grilling, apply cooking oil to the grate in order to prevent food residues from

sticking.

CLEANING THE GRILL

• Remove the grill grate and the coal grate.

• Remove the ash.

• Wash the grill with water and a mild detergent. Rinse with clean water and leave to dry.

• På grund av risk för syrebrist får grillen ej användas i slutna ut-

rymmen.

• Tänk på att grillen blir het när den är tänd. Håll därför barn och

husdjur på säkert avstånd.

• Flytta inte på grillen efter att den tänts. Vänta med att ﬂytta grillen

efter användning tills glöden har slocknat helt och grillen har svalnat.

• Låt grillen kallna helt före rengöring.

• Använd grillvantar och grillredskap för att undvika brännskador vid

grillning.

• Använd aldrig sprit eller bensin som tändmedel.

• Lämna aldrig grillen utan uppsikt.

• Använd aldrig vatten för att kontrollera ﬂammor eller för att

släcka grillkolen eftersom det kan skada den porslinsemaljerade/

pulverlackerade ytan.

• Släng aldrig briketterna/grillkolen innan du säkert vet att de har

slocknat.
