GROUNDED PLUG
To reduce the risk of electric shock this appliance has a grounded plug.
(2 blades and 1 pin) If the plug does not fit fully into the electrical outlet
contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way or
use an adaptor.
HOW TO USE YOUR SALTON PORTABLE COOKING RANGE
Any flat-bottomed pot or container that can be used on a conventional electric
stove element can also be used on the Salton Portable Cooking Range. For
maximum heat transfer, cookware that has a solid perfectly flat bottom is
recommended. Cookware made from solid aluminum or some other material
with an encapsulated aluminum base will provide the best results. Any
cookware can be used to reheat but if maximum energy is required, such
as boiling water, please use the recommended cookware.
1.
Place the Portable Cooking Range onto a smooth, dry, flat surface. Be sure
that knob is in the 'Off' position and plug into any 120 Volt A.C. outlet.
2.
Place filled cookware on the element. Note: Do not preheat before using.
3. Turn the Knob clockwise to desired setting. The Indicator Light will glow
and go ‘on’ and ‘off’ as the selected temperature is automatically maintained.
CARE AND CLEANING
1. Unplug unit and allow to cool.
2. Both the outside of the unit and the drip pan should be cleaned with a
cloth or sponge dampened in warm soapy water. Clean the drip pan by
raising the element slightly. NEVER USE ABRASIVE CLEANSERS.
3. NEVER IMMERSE THIS UNIT IN WATER.

A short supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards of becoming entangled
in or tripping over a long cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised
in their use. If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the
detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be at least as great as
the electrical rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounded type,
the extension cord should be a grounded 3-wire cord. The extension cord
should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top,
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
