1.1 Application
The linear actuator operate the final control
element which require a linear travel motion
from 15 to 120 mm and a po itioning force in
the range of 2 to 25 kN.
The hut-off force of the actuator i adju ted
permanently. The travel, however, can be
modified at a later date.
1.2 Versions
The electrical component are located epa-
rately from the gear underneath the ealed
cover where they are protected from du t and
can be ea ily acce ed when the cover i
removed.
The basic version of the device compri e :
–Two torque
witche DE-S1
and
DE-S2
.
They witch off the motor when the force ad-
ju ted in the actuator i counterbalanced by
a corre ponding force. Thu , they protect
the final control element from damage, and
the actuator from overload.
–One travel
witch WE-S3
for limitation of
the travel in the opening direction.
–Two travel
witche WE-S4
and
WE-S5
for
indicating intermediate and po ition of the
final control element.
The following component can be in talled
optionally:
– A fourth travel
witch WE-S6
for indicating
certain control element po ition .
– One or two
potentiometer
or one
electronic
po ition tran mitter ESR
for analog remote
tran mi ion of the final control element’
po ition.
–One
heating re i tor
to prevent the forma-
tion of conden ation water underneath the
cover when the humidity i high and the am-
bient temperature fluctuate con iderably.
At an in ide temperature of >60 °C, the
heating re i tor deactivate the heating via
a temperature relay; it reactivate the heat-
ing at a temperature of <40 °C.
– One electronic po itioner for the analog
control 0 (2) to 10 V / 0 (4) to 20 mA (only
for 230 V, 50 Hz AC motor ).
1.3 Function
The rotary motion of the motor i tran ferred
to the gear wheel with a female thread via the
gearing.
The pi ton rod with the matching male thread
engage the female thread. An anti-rotation
device ecure the rod and prevent it from ro-
tating.
The pi ton rod perform a linear motion,
either pulling or pu hing, when the female
threaded gear wheel i turned via the motor
gear.
