1Overview
This Installation Manual guides you to install the Board Support Package (BSP) for Samsung’s SC32440A
running on Pocket PC Magneto Operating System.
The manual explains the following topics:
•Copying BSP and Building Image
•Opening Platform Builder for Windows Mobile 5.0
•Fusing PPC Image on Smart Media Card via Ethernet
oFusing Superipl Image
oFusing OS Image
A detailed explanation of each topic is explained in the following chapters.

2Copying BSP and Building Image
In this chapter, you can understand how to copy and build Samsung SC32440A Pocket PC Magneto BSP.
1. To start the BSP installation, copy Samsung S3C2440A BSP to X:\WM500\PLATFORM directory on
your host PC and then make sure that BSP directory name is SMDK2440. Also make sure that the
batch file in X:\WM500\PLATFORM\SMDK2440 directory has the same name as that of the BSP, i.e.
smdk2440.bat.
Note: If you want, you can use a different BSP directory name. But make sure that the batch file
has the same name as that of the BSP directory name.
2. To build the Pocket PC image on your host PC, click Start, point to All Programs, point to
Microsoft Platform Builder for Windows Mobile 5.0 and then click New Build Window Wizard.
The following window appears on your screen.

3. Type the path of Magneto OS i.e. X:\WM500 in the OS build tree (WINCEROOT): name box and
then click Next button.
4. The Configure Build Window Parameters window appears on your screen.
Select for BSP: smdk2440
Select for Release type: Retail
Select for Project type: PocketPC
Select for SKU: Premium
Click Clone button.

5. Clone BSP window appears on your screen.
Select for Source BSP: smdk2440
Enter for Destination BSP folder name: SMDK2440_PPC
Enter for Destination BSP display name: SMDK2440_PPC
Click OK button.

6. Click Next button. The Configure Output Options window appears on your screen. Click Finish
button.
