D. ELECTRICAL HOOK-UP

Wire entry into the unit should be made

through the knockout in the bottom of the

cover.

Cover End Cap must be removed to allow

installation and inspection of proper wiring.

(Verify correct installation in accordance with

diagram on page 2 of this manual prior to

wiring unit for proper operation).

Proper connectors should be chosen for the

wire/conduit selected.

Connect properly sized copper leads to the

terminal block as shown.

Connect the power circuits to L1 and L2 as

shown and the ground to GND. (For 120V

models connect the Neutral to L2/N on the

terminal block).

PRE-POWER CHECK:

Verify that all connections are secure.

Verify that an adequate ground has been

properly connected.

Verify that adequate sized breakers have

been properly connected. Remember that

breakers that are too large are more

dangerous that breakers that are too small.

Verify proper wire size has been used for

connection.

Check voltage at the terminal block for each

circuit.

THIS INSTALLATION MUST BE DONE BY A QUALIFIED AND LICENSED

CONTRACTOR. Refer to your local electric and plumbing codes for additional

information.

PERFORMANCE:

When evaluating the performance of the complete hybrid heating system, one must

consider not only the Seisco Supercharger but also the heating capability of the

tank. The following chart demonstrates the expected performance. The GPM* chart

below shows the flow rates for hot water deliverable at 115°F, based on the water

temperature in the tank, and the combined heating capacity of the primary heating

source PLUS the Supercharger. The performance chart demonstrates, as the water

temperature in the tank declines, the combined capacity to provide hot water flow

also declines but remains more than sufficient to provide that hot water needed to

allow for a tempered 105°F hot shower “Endlessly”.

SUPERCHARGER MODELS:

The Seisco Supercharger is a new technology designed to connect to the main water

heater tank regardless of its primary heating source (gas, electric, solar, heat pump,

geothermal, heat recovery). The Supercharger is designed to avoid scald potential by not

heating water that is already hot and only incrementally adding the precise amount of heat

to maintain the desired set point. It can recognize very small temperature changes so as

the water in the tank drops below its pre-set desired temperature, the Supercharger

increments the heat required to maintain the constant desired set point within 1.5 degrees.

Supercharger Models should be connected to the HOT water line. They can be connected

directly adjacent to the main hot water source as an extender or near the desired point of

use as a booster. System must be properly sized to provide sufficient hot water for the

desired number of fixtures to be served. Contact your dealer or SEISCO sales

representative for assistance in sizing for your application.

All SEISCO models are temperature rather than flow controlled, the Supercharger will

modulate and add only the amount of energy necessary to maintain the hot water set point

and return to standby once hot water from the primary hot water source reaches set point

offering energy AND water savings.
