Warnings and Cautions
WARNING: This high-capacity ow-thru humidier must be installed by
a qualied heating and air conditioning contractor. Failure to comply could
result in serious injury from electrical shock, or damage to the humidier or heating
appliance. Failure to comply could also void all warranties.

ADDITIONAL WARNINGS:
1. To avoid serious injury or electrocution,
disconnect electrical power to the
furnace before starting installation.
2. Use care when cutting plenum
openings and handling ductwork.
Sharp edges may cause serious injury.
3. Do not cut or drill any air conditioning
or electrical accessories during
humidier installation. Electrocution is
possible if you come in contact with a
live electrical wire; blindness can occur if
refrigerant contacts your eyes.
CAUTIONS:
1. Do not install the unit where freezing
temperatures could occur, or where
temperatures could exceed 180°F
(82.22°C).
2. Do not install the unit on a furnace jacket.
3. Do not install the unit on a plenum face
where the blanked-off ends of the cooling
coil restrict air movement through the
humidifier.
4. Do not set the humidity level higher than
recom mended. Condensation damage
may result.
5. Do not set humidity up to recommended
levels if there is condensation on the
inside windows of any living space.
Condensation damage may result.
6. Do not install the unit on any plenum
where static pressure exceeds 0.4 in.
(1.02 cm) W.C.
7. Do not install the unit where water
pressure exceeds 125 psi (861.85 kPa).
Leakage may result. Follow relevant
codes regarding pressure reduction.
8. Be sure that the installation, wiring and
plumbing on the humidifier comply with
local codes, ordinances and regulations.

3. Disconnect the
humidier control wires
by grasping the nylon
connector rmly and
pulling straight out.
4. Remove the cover
by turning the thumb
screw (circled) coun-
terclockwise (). Tilt
and lift the cover o the
frame.
5. Pull out the drip tray
and evaporator pad
assembly by grasping
the top lip and tipping
out.
6. Place the mounting
frame into the plenum
opening so that the
frame hooks over the
bottom of the opening.
Screw the frame to the
plenum.
7. Stand the evapo-
rator pad upright
with the index mark
on top. Make sure
the wick is seated
securely in the drip
tray.
8. Place the drip
tray on top of the
pad. Reinstall the
evaporator pad and
drip tray.
9. Reattach the cover
assembly by hooking it
at the top of the mount-
ing frame. Secure the
cover by turning the
thumb screw at the
bottom clockwise ().
1. Locate the 2002
mounting template in
the humidier carton.
Tape the template
lengthwise onto the fur-
nace plenum, making
sure it is level.
2. Trace around the
template.* Remove the
template. Accurately
cut the plenum
opening.
*Cutout size is 13-1/8 in.
(33.34 cm) wide by 16-1/2
in. (41.91 cm) long.
IMPORTANT:
• Step 10 (and its sub-steps) refers
exclusively to Model 2002—fan-powered
unit with manual Humistat.

13. Connect copper tubing from the saddle
valve to the solenoid valve. Do not use
plastic tubing. Check for leaks.
The saddle valve must
be fully opened or
closed. Do not use the
valve to regulate water
ow.
14. Attach a 1/2 in. (1.27 cm) vinyl hose and
clamp to carry the ushing water from the
unit to the drain. Be sure the drain hose has
a constant pitch to the oor drain. To avoid
damage to the drain tting, do not use
solvent type adhesives when connecting
the plastic hose to the humidier.

15. Test operation.
Check for water leaks.
Be sure the humidistat
is operating properly.
Installation is now
complete.
10b. Wiring Diagram B: Multi-
Speed Blower. For wiring the humidier
with a multi-speed blower, use an A50
Current Sensing Relay with an existing or
independently wired, eld-installed 120 VAC
outlet. Plug the humidier into the outlet. See
page 5.
12. Tap into the water
supply line using the
saddle valve provided.
Follow the directions
on the saddle vavle
bag.
WARNINGS:
• SHUT OFF POWER BEFORE WIRING
HUMIDIFIER.
• DO NOT wire the Model 2002 humidier to
a circuit board UNLESS the board connec-
tions are 120 VAC. If, and only if, they are
120 VAC, install a receptacle and wire it to
the board connections. Plug the humidier
into the receptacle.
• DO NOT, under any circumstances, wire
the yellow solenoid wires to the circuit
board or any other power source!
10. To wire Model 2002 and the Humidi-
stat ... select the diagram (page 4 or 5) and
instruction (following) that matches your
particular application.
10a. Wiring Diagram A: Single-Speed
Blower. For wiring the humidier with a 120
VAC single speed blower, locate the blower
motor junction box. Wire in a receptacle
for the 120 VAC humidier plug. This will
coordinate the humidier and furnace system
operations. See page 4.

Avisos y Precauciones
ATENCIÓN: Este humidicador de desvío de alta capacidad debe ser
instalado sólo por un contratista calicado en sistemas de calefacción y aire
acondicionado. El no cumplir con este requisito puede resultar en lesiones graves
debido a descargas eléctricas, o daño al humidicador o al aparato de calefacción.
El no cumplir con este requisito puede anular cualquier garantía.

AVISOS ADICIONALES:
1. Para evitar lesiones graves o la electro-
cución, desconecte la corriente
eléctrica del aparato de calefacción
antes de iniciar la instalación.
2. Tenga cuidado al cortar las aberturas
para los “plenum” y al manipular los
conductos. Los bordes alados pueden
causar lesiones graves.
3. Ni corte ni taladre ningún componente
eléctrico o del aire acondicionado
durante la instalación del humidicador.
Es posible la electrocución si se tiene
contacto con un cable eléctrico cargado;
se puede quedar ciego si el refrigerante
tiene contacto con los ojos.
PRECAUCIONES:
1. No instale la unidad donde es posible que
las temperaturas bajen al punto de con-
congelación (32°F/0°C), ni donde podrían
exceder a los 180°F (82°C).
2. No instale la unidad sobre un forro que
cubre el aparato de calefacción.
3. No instale la unidad sobre la supercie de
un “plenum” en el que las puntas tapadas
del espiral refrigerante vayan a restringir
el ujo del aire por el humidicador.
4. No seleccione un nivel de humedad
más alto de lo recomendado. Si no,
pueden producirse daños por causa de la
condensación.
5. No coloque el humidistato tan alto
como el nivel recomendado si es que
se produce una condensación en las
supercies interiores de las ventanas de
cualquier parte habitada de la casa. Si
no, pueden producirse daños por causa
de la condensación.

6. No instale la unidad en ningún “plenum”
donde la presión estática supere a las 0.4
pulgadas (1.02 cm) “W.C.” en columna de
agua (medida de presión estática).
7. No instale la unidad donde la presión del
agua supere a las 125 libras por pulgada
cuadrada (862 kPa). Si no, pueden pro-
ducirse fugas de agua. Siga los códigos
relevantes a la reducción de la presión.

2. Trace el contorno
de la plantilla en el
“plenum”.* Quite la
plantilla. Corte con
precisión la abertura
en el “plenum”.
*Las dimensiones de la
abertura son de 13 con 1/8 de pulgada (33.34 cm) de
ancho por 16 con 1/2 pulgada (41.91 cm) de largo.
1. Busque en la caja
del humidicador
la plantilla para la
instalación de los
modelos 2002/2102.
Usando cinta
adhesiva, péguelo
longitudinalmente
en el “plenum” del sistema de calefacción,
asegurándose de que esté a nivel.
3. Desconecte los
cables del control
del humidicador,
tirando rmemente
del conector de nilón
en sentido recto hacia
afuera.
4. Quite la tapa del
humidicador girando
el tornillo de pulgar
(indicado por un
círculo) en sentido
contrario al de las
manecillas del reloj (). Incline y levante la
tapa del marco.
8. Asegúrese de que la instalación, el
cableado eléctrico y la plomería del
humidicador cumplan con los códigos,
decretos y reglamentos locales.

5. Jale hacia afuera, la
bandeja de goteo y el
ensamblaje del ltro de
evaporación sujetando
la parte superior e
inclinándolo hacia
afuera.
6. Coloque el marco
de montaje en la
abertura del “plenum”
para que el marco se
enganche en la parte
inferior de la abertura.
Monte el marco en el
“plenum” con tornillos.
7. Ponga el ltro de
evaporación en su
posición vertical con
la marca negra hacia
arriba. Asegúrese de
que la mecha esté
bien sentada en la
bandeja de goteo.
8. Coloque la bandeja
de goteo encima del
ltro. Vuelva a instalar
la tabla de evaporación
y la bandeja de goteo.
9. Vuelva a colocar la
tapa, enganchándola
en la parte superior
del marco de montaje,
y luego asegurándola
con el tornillo de pulgar
en la parte inferior,
girándolo en sentido
de las manecillas del
reloj ().
IMPORTANTE:
• Paso 10 ( y sus subpasos ) se reere
exclusivamente al modelo 2002—
ventilador de poder con humidistato
manual.
AVISOS:
• DESCONECTE LA CORRIENTE
ELÉCTRICA ANTES DE PROCEDER
CON EL CABLEADO.
• NO CONECTE el humidicador modelo
2002 a un tablero de circuitos A MENOS
QUE las conexiones del tablero sean de
120 VCA. Si, y sólo si, son de 120 VCA,
instale un receptáculo y conéctelo a las
conexiones en el tablero. Enchufe el
humidicador en el receptáculo.
• NO CONECTE, bajo ninguna circunstan-
cia, los cables amarillos del solenoide al
tablero de circuitos, ¡ni a ninguna otra
fuente de corriente eléctrica!
10. Para el cableado eléctrico del modelo
2002 y el humidistato...seleccione el
diagrama (página 10 o 11) e instrucciones
(siguientes) que corresponden a la aplicación
particular que usted tiene.
