Introduction
The FDX-M2P consists of a transmitter and receiver that extend
two DVI-D outputs, with audio, USB 1.1 keyboard and mouse, and
transparent RS-232. For exceptional quality and security, ber optic
extension is the best solution. The FDX-M2P can go the distance with
multi-mode ber optic cabling with a reach of up to 1,400 feet.
The system includes a transmitter and receiver, which are connected by
two ber optic cables. The transmitter connects to the user’s computer
with the necessary cables, while the receiver connects to the remote
interface devices up to 1,400 feet away.

Installation
1. Power o the computer, displays and speakers.
2. Connect the DVI Video, Audio and USB cables from the computer to
the FDX-M2P transmitter.
3. Connect the FDX-M2P transmitter to the FDX-M2P receiver using 2
ber optic cables.
4. Connect the DVI displays, speakers and USB keyboard and mouse to
the FDX-M2P receiver.
5. Power on the FDX-M2P transmitter and receiver.
6. Power on the computer, displays and speakers.

A point to point connection is required. Having one or more patch panels in the
line is possible and allowed. Telecommunications or network equipment may not be
connected to the ber optic connectors, doing so may cause damage to the device.

In the medical or industrial eld, where it may not be practical (or safe) to
have one or more CPUs in the general vicinity, the FDX-M2P is the perfect
solution, allowing for either PC or Mac signals to be extended up to 1,400
feet.
Another practical use for the FDX-M2P would be for media recording
studios, where soundproong and space issues come into play. Using an
extender eliminates the inherent “hum” of a powered CPU and gives you
the freedom of using your keyboard, mouse and monitor without having
to nd room for the computer itself in the same workspace.
