Quick set up guide

1. Set up screen

a. Take out of the bag, Unroll, unfold

b. Inflate by closing both valves on right side of the screen first

c. Open the large valve on the left side of the screen and using your handheld blower

inflate the screen to a standing position and close the big valve.

d. Unscrew the small valve that is on top of the large valve you just closed and using your

handheld blower proceed to inflate the screen so that it is solid and the screen has

stretched

e. Zip on screen surface and attach tethers to D-Rings - see set up guide provided for full

details and diagrams for set up, inflation & deflation.

2. Set up Speakers (for more details see manual provided)

a. Put speaker stands on either side of the screen, Place the speakers on the stands

b. Connect the power to your speakers

c. Connect the audio cables to the back of the speakers and then into the AUDIO OUT at

the back of the projector.

d. Volume is controlled via the level switch at the back of the speakers

3. Set up Projector and DVD player (for more details see manual provided)

a. Put the projector on a stand approx 4m –5m away from the screen and approx 70cm

high

b. Connect the projector to the power

c. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to your projector and the other end into your DVD

player

d. Connect your Blu-ray to the power

TURN everything on, power boards, speakers, projector and DVD player

Make sure you have selected HDMI as your source on the projector by using the remote, insert disk and

press play.

Troubleshooting Tips:

REMEMBER

Projector:

-It only works in darkness

-Take off the Lens cap

-Adjust the focus on the lens as per the manual

-Access to the menu is via the remote provided

-HDMI Source has been selected (use remote or menu –see manual)

-Image is in 16:9 aspect ratio (use remote or menu –see manual)

-Image zoom is adjusted (use remote or menu –see manual)

-Image is flipped to correct direction (use remote or menu –see manual)

-See manual for specific instructions and fine image adjustments

Speakers:

-Make sure they are switched ON

-Adjust ALL volumes to half way point (12 o’clock position)

-Power and AUDIO IN cables are connected securely

Screen:

-If it is taking longer than 10 minutes to inflate check the following:

oAre you using the large 2 way valve?( see manual)

oAre the valves on the opposite side of the screen closed tightly?

oAfter inflating using the large 2-way valve, you MUST complete the inflation using

the small 1-way valve located on the top of the two way valve.

oBefore screening, use the 1-way valve to inflate the screen so that it is as tight as

possible

-If the screen is moving check your tethering is correct (see manual)

Issues with Audio or Projection:

1. First TURN OFF ALL the individual items (DVD player, projector, and then 2 x speakers) then

turn off the main power & power boards.

2. Double check ALL cables are securely pushed in

-Check the back of the projector (HDMI cable, Audio & power)

-Check the back of the DVD player (HDMI & Power)

-Then the back of the speakers (Audio & power)

-Check the power board or points

3. TURN ON the power from the wall/board and then all devices (DVD player, projector and

then 2 x speakers)

4. Remove batteries from remotes and microphones for 10 seconds, and then put them back

in.

Press play and adjust the volume to see if this has resolved the issue, If I doubt refer to the manual

SETUP GUIDE

UNROLLING SCREEN

1. After deciding on set up location and whether projection will be front or rear it is time to unroll the

screen. For outdoor application we recommend using a tarp under the screen secured down with

tent pegs to help keep screen clean. (NOTE: push tent pegs right into ground so that it is not raised

above ground level –for screen and operator safety).

2. Remove your HandiScreen from the duffle bag provided and place the screen at the FRONT LEFT of

the set up location, remove tie from around screen and unroll to the right (example in diagram).

3. Once unrolled, unfold the screen once to have it in its ‘inflation ready’ position. The screens white

surface area is now sitting in half on the rectangular base. You are now ready to inflate your screen.

4. Ensure one inflation / deflation valve is sealed completely. Have your handheld blower ready for

inflation.

5. Open the other inflation valve completely so that the air from the blower goes straight into the

tubing, and not through the one way valve. Ensure your blower has the correct nozzle attached to

fit the valve. Hold blower against the valve, turn the blower on.

6. Holding the blower to the valve the screen will start to inflate slowly (takes approximately 3

minutes). Once screen has inflated enough to stand up on its own, remove the blower and seal the

first valve. Screen inflates as pictured below when inflated from the “inflation ready” position.

7. Place the blower back onto the second (top) value and continue inflating until screen frame is firm.

Turn off and remove blower, fastening the final valve cover.

8. You must now have your stakes ready for this step. From each corner of the bottom of the frame

there is a D-ring with a tether attached. Find this D-ring / tether, and then from each corner walk

out 2 -3 LARGE STEPS (approximately 2-3 metres) and twist the stake into the ground and connect

that tether using the clip.

9. Attach all top tethers to stakes and adjust tethers so they all have the correct tension.

10. Now it’s time to set up your SmartBox and Audio equipment.

SPEAKER SETUP

Placement of speakers

1. The HandiTheatre System is supplied standard with two (2x) 8” Behringer powered speakers.

2. To ensure optimum quality, volume and stereo separation speakers are best placed one on each

side of the screen frame.

Connecting speakers to SmartBox®

1. The HandiTheatre System is supplied standard with two (2x) 10metre Smart Digital speaker

cables.

2. Connect the Male XLR end of one speaker cable to the “Line level balanced input” on the rear of

the speaker (see diagram). Left and right respectively.

3. Connect the Female XLR end of the speaker cable to the Speaker Output connectors on the

mixer section of the SmartBox (see image). Left and right respectively.

4. Turn the speakers on after the SmartBox has been turned on.

5. Connect power cable to mains power

Powering ON speakers

Once placed, connected to SmartBox®and

plugged into power; turn on each speaker using the switch located on the rear panel of the

speaker box (you will need to repeat this for each speaker)

NOTE: Connecting or disconnecting of SmartBox®to speakers should only be

performed whilst speakers are disconnected from mains or injury and/or damage

may result.

Powering ON the Projector

1. Remove the lens cap.

2. Turn on the lamp by pressing “POWER” button either on the top of the projector or on the

remote. The Power LED will now turn Green.

3. The startup screen will display in approximately 10-15 seconds.

4. The projector will detect the source automatically. If it does not detect the DVD player, press the

source button until found. Repeat if necessary.

Adjustment of Zoom & Focus

You may press the zoom button, until it is correct. To focus the image, rotate the focus ring until the image

is clear. If need be, adjust the height the projector using the tilt adjustment feet and the front and rear

of the projector.

Image Alignment

1. To align the image of the projector to your screen, use the

zoom function to get the image the correct size, and focus

to get the image clear.

2. Adjust the height of the projector using the feet of the Projector

to adjust to the correct height. If the image needsto come further up or down, prop up the

front or back of the box with a flat object to produce the desired image height.

3. Under ‘Display’ tab in the menu in adjust the vertical or

horizontal image shift to get the image precisely in the

centre of the screen if required.

4. Use the keystone feature to square up the image if extra tilting of the image

was required.

5. For rear projection select the "Flip" option of your remote OR go to Set-up, then to projection. Use

the arrows to select rear projection (when image is backwards).

CONNECTING ACCESSORIES

IPod, MP3, MiniDisk

1. A special audio cable is required ( 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm jack plug at each end) to operate Ipod /

Mp3 players

2. Plug the mini jack plug into the iPod/MP3 player and the other end into IPOD Input of the projector.

3. Use speakers to control the volume of this channel.

Laptop Computer

HDMI can be connected to the projector

Laptop Video Connection

1. Connect the computer to the projector using a VGA Cable into the VGA Input connector on

the rear panel of the projector, the other end into the laptop / computer’s VGA connector.

2. The projector should automatically select the correct input, otherwise press the Source

button on top of the projector until it finds the laptop image.

Laptop Audio Connection

3. Using the same cable as for IPOD connection, plug a 3.5mm jack plug into the headphones

or line-out port of the laptop,

4. Connect the other end of the 3.5 mm jack plugs into IPOD Input of the mixer.

Game Console

HDMI can be connected to the projector

Game Console Video Connection

1. Connect video (Yellow) RCA cable into yellow AUX video Input connection on the rear of

mixer and then into the video RCA input on your game console

2. The projector should automatically select the correct input, otherwise press the source

button on top of the projector until it finds the console image.

Game Console Audio Connection

3. Connect left and right audio (red & white) RCA cables into Input - Comp on Mixer.

4. Using RCA connectors connect left and right audio (red & white) RCA cables to the rear of

your game console

5. Volume control is through the level in the game console, projector and speakers

Live TV

1. Simply connect a set top box to the Antenna input on the projector

PACKING UP

Powering OFF system

Powering OFF the Media Player

1. Remove DVD or other media prior to switching off unit

2. Switch power slider on the media player to “Off”

Powering OFF the Projector

1. Press the “POWER” button to turn off the projector lamp.

2. The following message will be displayed on the screen.

3. Press the “POWER” button again to confirm, otherwise the message will disappear after 15

seconds.

4. When you press the “POWER” button a second time, the system will show the countdown timer

on the screen.

5. The cooling fans continue to operate for about 10 seconds for cooling cycle. When the Power

LED turns Red, the projector has entered standby mode.

6. If you wish to turn the projector back on, you must wait until the projector has completed the

cooling cycle and has entered standby mode. Once in standby mode, simply press “POWER”

button to restart the projector.

7. Do not turn on the projector immediately following a power off procedure.

Powering OFF speakers

Turn off each speaker using the switch located on the rear panel of the speaker box (you will need to

repeat this for each speaker) And unplug the cables.

NOTE: Always ensure speakers are turned off and disconnected from power before disconnecting speaker

cables from either speakers or SmartBox®.
