1. DocumenTaTion
All documentation on the DATALOG H80/H81 is available on the
SOCOMEC website at the following address:

2. Preliminary oPeraTions
It is highly recommended to become thoroughly acquainted with the contents of this manual before conguring and
using DATALOG H80/H81.
To install and connect DATALOG H80/H81, a Quick Start guide is delivered with the device. It is also available at the
following address: Http://www.socomec.com/datalogger-documentation
DATALOG H80/H81 can be congured by connecting:
• directly to DATALOG H80/H81 via the available interfaces (HDMI interfaces, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0). User can
directly connect their devices (screen, keyboard, mouse), as indicated in the Quick Start guide,
• to the web server of DATALOG H80/H81, via the browser on a workstation connected to the network.
Here is the list of compatible browsers:
• Internet Explorer v9 and higher
• Firefox v24 and higher
• Chrome v30 and higher
We recommend the use of a screen with 1280 x 900 pixel format.
3. inTroDucTion
3.1. General presentation
DATALOG H80/H81 is part of the range of communication gateways proposed by Socomec.
DATALOG H80/H81, installed at the heart of the energy ecosystem, allows you to:
• automatically collect energy data from meters and multi-uid measuring stations;
• pool, secure and store energy data;
• publish data to a system or an external application.

DATALOG H80/H81 is available in 2 versions:
• DATALOG H80: 4 LAN Ethernet ports
• DATALOG H81: 4 LAN Ethernet ports + 1 wireless 3G port (for publishing data)
Detailed description of the H80:
Mini Fanless Industrial PC, Intel Atom CPU with dual core N2807 1.58 GHz processor, CFAST slot, 1 x RS232, 1
x USB3.0, 2 x USB2.0, HDMI output, 2 x GbeLAN, Vin +12 VSC (lockable plug). Supplied with AC/DC adaptor for
Europe.
Includes:
• RAM 4GB DDR3L
• FLASH CFAST 32 GB MLC type Top -40° to 85°C card
• LICENCE and OS MICROSOFT WES7 installed
• RAILDIN 9741640401 mount
The DATALOG H80 is guaranteed for 1 year.

3.2. Communication architecture
DATALOG H80/H81 is interconnected with various external devices for the operation of certain services:
• FTP / HTTP servers for the publication of data stored in DATALOG H80/H81 and the backup of alarm and log
les, as well as a conguration backup
• SMTP server: for sending activity reports by e-mail

3.4. Conguration of 3G communication of DATALOG H81
If a 3G connection is used, the user will need to congure the Windows services of DATALOG H81 so that the
connection can be activated automatically.
To access the conguration menu of the Windows services, the user can use the script “Remote Desktop
Connection”.
- Access the “MSTSC.exe” script on your computer
- Enter the URL of DATALOG H81
- Use the Windows account
Account: .\admin
Password: To nd out the password, contact your advisor at Socomec.
Once connected to DATALOG H81:
- Access the “Control Panel” section in the Start menu.

- Then access the “Administrative Tools” section
- Then access “Services”
- Finally access the “Socomec Network Connection Service”

Set the “Start-up type” in the General menu to “Automatic”
3.5. Access the conguration of DATALOG H80/H81
To access the conguration of DATALOG H80/H81, the user has several ways:
1. By directly connecting a keyboard and screen to DATALOG H80/H81, then by clicking on the icon
2. By accessing the “Remote Desktop Connection” script (see Chapter 3.5), and then clicking on the icon
3. Via a web browser: enter the URL of DATALOG H80/H81

4. confiGuraTion
DATALOG H80/81 must be congured so the different functions of collecting, storing and publishing data can be
used.
Below are the details of the various possible conguration options.
4.1. Identication
To accessing the conguration interface, the user requires a password.
To nd out the password, contact your advisor at Socomec.
