Softopper Bronco Manuale utente

Installation Instructions
Bronco 2nd Generation
Please read instructions thoroughly before starting installation
**Remove all contents of the Softopper carefully to protect from scratches.**
Windows scratch easily! Keep protective layer placed between them when they are stacked.
Estimated Installation Time: 1-2 hours
Beginning Note: It is easiest to do the initial installation in warmer temperatures. The
fabric of the top is at its tightest when it is new. Installing it in warmer temperatures initially
will ensure that the fabric is easier to work with. The fabric of the top will relax slightly with
time and become easier to put on.

Header Bar Installation
**Note**Driver side depicted in all photos and illustrations throughout instructions. Also,
colored instructions are available on our website, softopper.com, under “Installation
Instructions”.
1. Begin by removing the hard top from the vehicle. Keep all bolts. They will be used to
secure the bedrails and header bar to the vehicle. We have also supplied bolts and washers.
2. Locate the Driver and Passenger side header bar pieces.
3. Locate the medium sized bag of hardware (within the large
bag of hardware) containing the 5 Header Bar Brackets and
other hardware.
4. Using the (20) 10-24 x 3/8” flathead screws and a #2 Phillips
screwdriver, mount one of the brackets with a
HORIZONTAL slot in it to the center 2 holes of each header
bar piece, joining the header bar pieces together as one. The
bracket should mounted underneath, facing down, and
positioned towards the inside of the header bar as shown.

5. Mount the remaining 2 brackets with the HORIZONTAL slots to header bar on each side
immediately next to the center bracket.

9. Locate the 5 Bolts in the header hardware bag, 5 small
washers, and 5 larger washers, or the hardware used to
mount the hard top.
10.Stack the washers as shown.
11. Using a 7/16” wrench, mount the center bracket on the
header bar to the center hole on the top center of the
vehicle cab into the hole that the hard top was bolted
to. Center the bolts in the slots for now and fasten
securely.
12.Bend the header bar downward to bolt in the
remaining brackets ensuring that the radius of the bend
places the header bar in the center of the weather
stripping on the vehicle.
13.Each end of the header bar will
eventually bolt to the bedrails, so
let the ends hang loosely or out of
shape until bedrails are installed.
The two remaining screws, nuts,
and washers will be used for this.
14. Locate the 110” strip of bulb
seal. Peel off the red paper as you
stick the bulb seal to the upper rear
portion of the header bar as shown
on page 6.!

Bedrail Installation
1. Locate the driver and passenger side bedrails. There is a sticker which indicates the driver
side bedrail front end.
2. Peel the white paper off of the bottom of the bedrails. This weather stripping is NON-
ADHESIVE, and will not stick to your vehicle.
3. Locate the bag containing 2 black plastic rear bar retainers and hardware. The plastic bars
are marked “A” and “B”. “A” is the driver side piece and “B” is passenger side. The
retainer slot should face inward and the ring should be up as shown.
4. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver and the 4 screws in the bag, install the black plastic rear bar
retainers to the mounting location on the rear bedrail oriented as shown below. Center the
screws in the slot.

5. Save the 2 remaining, self drilling screws in the bag for later
in the installation process.
6. Locate the bag containing the 2 pivot brackets and hardware.
7. Insert the pivot pins into the middle hole of the pivot brackets
inward as shown.
8. Secure the E-Clip onto the pivot pin. Make sure the E-Clip is in the small indent in the pivot
pin. It helps to use the flat edge of something metal to push the E-Clip on.
9. Insert safety ring into pivot pin hole by twisting the safety ring.
