Introduction
Caution: The stability kit is not proven to withstand natural disasters. The
stability kit only allows a Spectra 64K library to be fixed to a
data center floor.
Estimated Time Required
This procedure takes about 30 minutes.
Materials and Tools Required
You need a Stability Kit from Spectra Logic (P.N. 90911009), which includes:
• Four L-shaped brackets
• Eight 1/4-20 X 5/8 screws
• A #3 Phillips screwdriver
• Channel locks
• The library front door key
• A ladder*
*will only be necessary if the side panels must be removed.

Prepare the Library
Note: The leveler feet on the library must be lowered, raising the library
off of its rollers.
If you cannot access the leveler feet, you must remove the side
panels. Proceed to Remove the Side Panels on page 10.
Remove the Front and Rear Kick Plates
1. Both the front and rear kick plates snap in and out of place; no tools are required to
remove them.

Lower the Leveler Feet
Warning: For optimum safety, it is best to lower the leveler feet
simultaneously with another person. This prevents the library
from tipping over.
Caution: Once the leveler feet are lowered, the library is no longer
mobile. Ensure that the library is in the desired location before
lowering the leveler feet.
1. Lower the front leveler feet (Figure 4).
Note: It may be necessary to remove the rubber portion of the leveler
feet to adequately grip the bolt head.
Note: The leveler feet must be lowered enough to raise the library off of
its rollers. The distance the levelers need to be lowered may vary
depending on the level of the data center floor.
2. Lower the rear leveler feet.
