2 Tools needed:
- 1 flat screwdriver
- 1 Allen key n° 3 and 4
- 1 8mm open-end spanner
- 1 Adjustable locking wrench
- 1 socket-head screwdriver with
7mm and 8mm sockets
- 1 spatula
Replacing refractors
3 Open door using cold handgrip.
4 & 5 Remove steel rod supporting
horizontal vermiculite refractors.
It just needs pushing out of its
notches. Remove horizontal
vermiculite refractors (4C)
Then vertically remove smoke
deflector (4D &5).
Then remove horizontal refractors
from back of stove.
Smoke deflector must be removed at
least every other year to avoid soot
clogging flue pipe.
6 Re-assembly sequence:
- vertical refractors (4B)
- horizontal refractors at back of stove (4A)
- smoke deflector (5)
- horizontal vermiculite refractors (4C)
- steel rod

2 Open a door.
Remove both front refractors.
4 & 5 Separate the grate in 3 parts. Position the lower grate in place.
Its 3 lugs should fit into half-moon recesses in bottom of stove.
Careful: A-shaped opening fits on the RH side.

3 Remove grate with its pin
6 Refit refractors. Using red knob of
grate shaker (pic. 1A & 6A) twist
fork (pic. 1D) full-lock (135° anti-
clockwise). Then position mobile
upper grate (pic. 1B) and make sure
its rod slides into fork (pic 1 D).

2 Unscrew both grate shaker parts
holding red knob with RH and fork
with LH.

1 Open a door. Remove front refrac-
tors. Remove grate and grate
holder.
3 Unscrew red knob from rod to allow
both rod sections to be removed
from stove.

1 Open ashtray door with cold hand-
grip.

4 Unscrew red knob to remove spring.
2 Using 8mm key, undo two M5
screws.
3 Remove bolt from drum.

2 Using 8mm key, undo 2 screws hold-
ing drum positioner.
To refit, insert positioner using
2 screws with fan-washers. Do not
tighten. Check that door lines up with
front panel and ashtray door before
tightening screws.
1 Open ashtray door with RH.
Replacing drum positioner
The positioner is the fixed female element in which the bolt inserts to immobilise the drum.

- support bearings
- guide bearings
2 Rotate drum for easy access to bear-
ing (or to grip hook).
3 Insert a flat screwdriver between rail
and drum lower ring and raise drum
slightly. Using Allen key n°4 loosen
screw 2 or 3 turns and move grip
hook to the right then remove bear-
ing through hole.

4 Remove damper from inside and
regulator from outside stove.

2 Remove primary air deflector. 3 Using Allen key n°8 undo screw
holding damper regulator.

1 Remove both front refractors.

2 Using Allen key n°4 undo bearing
axle pin. Don’t forget to refit washer
between bearing and drum lower
ring.
1 Rotate drum for easy access to bear-
ing
4 Remove front panel.

5 Undo 3 hexagonal headed screws to
release stainless-steel seal retainer.

6 Remove stainless-steel seal retainer.

Carefully note seal position before removal.

2 Remove semi-circular panel. 3 Undo both side finishing frames.

1 Using Allen key n°3 unscrew semi-
circular panel on stove top.
Replacing upper seal between body & drum

7 Using an 8mm open-end spanner
and 8mm socket wrench, undo bolt
holding upper crosspiece.
8 Rotate drum 10cm to the right.
Remove upper crosspiece.
9 Remove both bottom front refrac-
tors from stove.

10 Remove stainless-steel primary air
deflector.

11 Remove 2 vertical protective sec-
tions by raising them through holes
provided for fixing the barbecue
grill.

12 Unscrew vertical seal retainer bolts
a few turns.

14 Fit new seal with flexible edge out-
wards and thin section against stove
face.
First refit the LH vertical seal retainer,
tightening only the bottom bolt, then
pull the seal upwards while tightening
the other 2 bolts. Proceed in the same
way for the RH side, then fit the rest of
the seal evenly along horizontal part.
Check seal tightness by rotating drum
several times.
13 Remove used seal.
Carefully note seal position before removal.

5 Remove stainless-steel primary air
deflector.
6 Remove both vertical protective sec-
tions lifting them by holes provided to
fix barbecue grill.

3 Rotate drum 10cm to the right, then
remove upper crosspiece.
4 Remove both bottom front refrac-
tors from stove.

2 Using an 8mm open-end spanner
and 8mm socket, unscrew bolt hold-
ing upper crosspiece.
Replacing lower seal between body & drum

1 Open door slightly. Rotate drum
10cm to the right. Lift door out of
its hinges then push it to the left.

7 Undo Allen screw and M5 nut holding
lower crosspiece.

9 Remove seal.
Refitting is in reverse sequence.
8 Position drum on solid door, remove
door by lifting it off its hinges.
Rotate drum to the left to bring the
15mm hole level with vertical body
seal. Hexagonal-head screw holding
lower horizontal seal retainer will
show through hole. Unscrew 2 or 3
turns, then perform same procedure
on RH side.

1 Using an 8mm socket undo
2 screws. Fit new striker plate.
2 Using socket spanner undo 2 screws
holding latch.
The door locks with 2 separate components :
A latch fixed to the drum and a striker plate fixed on the door.
