Keepawayfromdirectsunlightandawayfromchemicals.Makesure
theenvironmentdoesnotexperienceabruptchangesintemperatureor
humidity.
DonotplacetheSynologyproductclosetoanyliquid.
Beforecleaning,unplugthepowercordrst.WipeSynologyproduct
withdamppapertowels.Donotusechemicaloraerosolcleanersto
cleanit.
DonotplacetheSynologyproductonacart,table,ordesk,whichisnot
stabletoavoidtheproductfromfallingover.
Thepowercordmustplugintotherightsupplyvoltage.Makesurethat
thesuppliedACvoltageiscorrectandstable.
Toremoveallelectricalcurrentfromthedevice,ensurethatallpower
cordsaredisconnectedfromthepowersource.

Warning:Ifyouinstallaharddiskthatcontainsdata,systemwillformatthehard
diskanderasealldata.Ifyouneedthedatainthefuture,pleasebackitupbefore
installation.
InstallHardDisks
1 Pulltheharddrivetrayhandleinthedirectionasindicatedbelowtoremove
theharddrivetray.
2 Loadtheharddiskintheharddrivetray.
Set Up DX1211

• For 3.5” Hard Disk: Placetheharddiskintheharddrivetray,andthen
tightenthescrewstosecuretheharddisk.
• For 2.5” Hard Disk: Placetheharddiskintheharddrivetray,turnthetray
upsidedown,andthentightenthescrewstosecuretheharddisk.
3 Inserttheloadedharddrivetrayintotheemptyharddrivebay.
Important:Makesurethetrayispushedinalltheway.Otherwise,theharddisk
mightnotbeabletofunctionproperly.
4 Pushthecliptoxtheharddrivetray.

5 Repeatthestepsabovetoassembleallharddisksyouhaveprepared.
Note:IfyouwanttosetupaRAIDset,itisrecommendedthatallinstalledhard
disksareofthesamesizetomakethebestuseofharddiskcapacity.
