Introduction
Welcome to SLM2, a smart stereo loudness max m zer nclud ng “analog sp ce” and 16x
over-sampl ng.
The goal of the des gn was to max m ze the loudness of the aud o s gnal wh le ma nta n ng
transparency.
2 Features
SLM2 offers follow ng features:
h ghly transparent br ck-wall-l m ter
saturat on of nput s gnal
fully control of attack and release
sw tchable look ahead
sw tchable saturat on
2 l m ter modes
add t onal dr ve/cl p stage
stereo l nk
over-sampl ng, up to 16x
easy to use GUI
preset manager
large and accurate l ve meters
supports all sample rates
Note: Th s plug n adds latency to the aud o path, wh ch s usually compensated by the DAW
(PDC).

3 Design
SLM2 lets you reach the max mum poss ble volume w th m n mal sound degradat on.
The SLM2 DSP analyses every sample of the ncom ng stereo s gnal w th n a def ned t me
frame and calculates the opt mal volume ncrease. Th s guarantees max mum poss ble
transparency.
The overall loudness can be further ncreased by the follow ng, opt onal cl pper stage.
S gnal al as ng can be reduced by enabl ng over-sampl ng.
SLM2 s used n all l m t ng s tuat on l ke track/bus and master l m t ng.

5 Plugin Controls
5.1 Preset Management
Preset menu loads and saves user presets. Presets stored to %localappdata%/SML2
(W ndows) or /Users/xxx/L brary/Appl cat on Support/SML2 (Mac OSX) are mported as
user presets. Prev and next button step trough all presets. Preset menu lets you store default
sett ngs.
5.2 Gain
"Ga n" controls the nput stage of the br ck-wall l m ter. Please to note that the nput stage
adds a small amount of saturat on for “analog sp ce”.
0 – 24dB, default 0dB.
5.3 Attack
"Attack" controls how much of the trans ents are passed to the nternal cl pp ng stage. H gher
values make the s gnal more cl pp ng.
0 – 1000ms, default 0 ms.
5.4 Release
Release t me controls how fast the l m ter recovers to the constant ga n after a peak s
detected. Depend ng on appl cat on d fferent release t mes can be used.
0 - 1000 ms, default 0.0 ms.
5.5 Saturation
Enables ga n depended saturat on.
5.6 Auto Release
“Auto Release” calculates constantly the release curve depend ng on the aud o mater al.

5.7 Over sampling
Incom ng s gnal could be over-sampled up to 16 t mes. As SLM2 uses h ghest qual ty
up/down-sampl ng algor thms for low aliasing operat on s gn f cantly more CPU resources
are used.
5.8 Look Ahead
"Look-Ahead" controls the length of the t me w ndow of the s gnal analys s. Longer t me
w ndow ensures less sound degradat on.
Short/long, default short.
5.9 Limiter Mode
"Norm" s the standard l m ter mode, wh le “Smooth” enables extra ant -cl pp ng funct on.
Norm/smooth, default norm.
5.10 Drive Clipper
SLM2 has a second ga n stage w th a cl pper. It can be used to ncrease loudness even further.
0 - +24 dB, default 0.0 dB
5.11 Channel Link
If set to 100 % the ga n reduct on s calculated from h ghest peak of both stereo channels, set
to 0 % both channels are processed fully ndependent.
0 - 100 %, default 100 %
5.12 Ceiling
Ce l ng sets the max mum level output s gnal can reach.
-24 - 0 dBFS, default 0.0 dB
5.13 Meters
Meters for nput s gnal (L/R Input), output s gnal (L/R Output) and ga n reduct on (L/R GR).

6 Demo mode ersus Registered mode
In demo mode (w thout reg ster ng) the plug n mutes aud o every 90 seconds for a short
per od. Th s could be c rcumvented by cl ck ng on the "SLM2" logo w th n 90 seconds.
You can reg ster at http://www.tb-software.com\tbproaud o.
7 Acti ation
After purchas ng the l cense key, unpack the key to a conven ent place on your PC (e.g.
desktop). Add the plug- n to any track, cl ck on the “Demo: Cl ck here to act vate” text and
select the key f le. Remove the plug- n and add t aga n. The GUI shows now “Reg stered to
your name”.
