IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Please read these instructions carefully prior to starting up
the unit!
The water system on which the operation of this product
is based requires utmost care and maintenance, possibly
also the use of chemicals, in order to prevent and keep
the occurrence of micro-organisms and harmful bacteria,
especially legionellae that are responsible for legionnaire’s
disease, under control. Non-observance of this
information about correct maintenance and care can entail
the spreading of harmful bacteria. Due to the fact that for
decorative purposes, water nozzles distribute water in the
air, water droplets containing harmful bacteria can enter
your lungs and cause life-threatening diseases.
It is the responsibility of the owner of the water system
and its attendant units to ensure their maintenance
and care in compliance with the laws, directives and
instructions laid down for this purpose. In order to avert
harmful contamination, we urgently recommend the user
to ensure cleaning and care of the water system and
the water feature including the nozzle, and to take all
necessary measures to maintain the technical units, such
as pumps, tubing, connectors, underwater lighting, and
nozzles to keep them in functional order in line with safety

only be held liable for manufacturing faults of TotalPond®
units.
CAUTION
• This has been evaluated for use with fresh water only.
• Do not use with heated liquids.
• Operate in freshwater only. Avoid heavily chlorinated
water and water with high pH levels.

PREPARATION
Before beginning assembly or operation of product, make
sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package
contents list and diagram. If any part is missing or damaged,
do not attempt to assemble, install or operate the product.
Contact Customer Care for replacement parts.
• Estimated assembly time: 5 minutes.
• No tools required for assembly.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
This kit includes a coupler and a diverter valve. To flow water
to the fountain nozzle only, go to Step 1A. To flow water to the
fountain nozzle and a spitter, go to Step 1B.
Step 1A. Connect the two
extension tubes with the
coupler.
If no spitter is to be used,
proceed to Step 3.
Step 1B. Connect the
extension tubes to the
diverter valve. Make sure
the arrow is pointing up
and the diverter valve is
connected as shown.
Step 2. For the use of the
diverter valve, connect
1/2 in. ID tubing onto the
second output of the
diverter valve. Connect
the other end of tubing to
a spitter or other water
feature.
NOTE: Tubing and spitter
are not included.

Step 3. Choose a fountain
head for the desired water
effect, and assemble your
choice as shown.
Step 4. Connect the
extension tube to the outlet
of the pump using the
supplied adapters.
NOTE: pump not included.
For Fountain Pump 320
gph and Pond Pumps
200-800 gph, use the 3/4”
adapter and swivel adapter
to connect the extension
tubes to the outlet of pump.
For the Fountain Pump
525 gph, use the 5/8”
adapter and swivel adapter
to connect the extension
tubes to the outlet of pump.
NOTE: 5/8” adapter is NOT
INCLUDED in this kit but
with the purchase of the
pump.
Step 5. Place the pump
into water and connect
the pump into a properly
grounded electrical outlet. If
the diverter valve was used,
you can adjust the flow
control as needed.
Step 6. Utilize the pivoting
base to achieve a more
vertical fountain display if
needed, and tighten the
locking nut for a secure fit.

MAINTENANCE
•Before cleaning, always disconnect the pump from the
power source. Please refer to the pump instruction manual
for proper pump maintenance.
•Periodically disassemble the fountain head kit and clean the
parts.
•Use a cloth or soft brush with warm, soapy water. Be sure to
use biodegradable soap.

TROUBLESHOOTING
IF THE PERFORMANCE OF THE FOUNTAIN
NOZZLE IS NOT SATISFACTORY OR THE
FOUNTAIN DOES NOT FLOW EVENLY:
•Check to make sure the attached pump is completely
submerged in water.
• Adjust the pump’s flow control.
•Check to make sure the pump’s power cord is plugged in
and the pump is getting power.
•Check the pump outlet, nozzles, spitter and any tubing for
kinks or obstructions.
