DIRECTIONS FOR USE
The use of the UVD robot Model C is a supplement to, and not a substitute for, standard infection control
practices. Users must continue to follow all current infection control practices, including those practices related to
cleaning and disinfection of environmental surfaces.
Ensure room is clear of people and animals.
Close off entry points.
Prevent unauthorized access to treatment area.
Prevent escape of ultraviolet radiation from rooms or treatment areas with shielding or blackout curtains.
Mark entrance(s) with a DO NOT ENTER sign and a WARNING or CAUTION sign that there is
ultraviolet radiation.
Before starting a disinfection cycle, arrange the room and area in a way to minimize the shadowing by objects and
pre-clean the target surfaces.
The UVD Robots certified installer will install the robot in the designated rooms and areas. During installation, the
UVD Robot creates a floor map of the rooms and areas. The UVD Robots installer and the end-user site client
determine the disinfection route of the robot in autonomous mode, setting configurable disinfection points.
Consequently, during autonomous disinfection, the robot will follow the pre-programmed and set disinfection route.
Each disinfection point needs to be set to a five (5) minute exposure and sufficient disinfection points should be set
to position the robot within one (1) metre of all high touch target areas.
When used as a supplement to regular cleaning practices, The UVD Robot Model C Kills 99.99% of bacteria
including: Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, Enterococcus hirae ATCC 10541, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC
15442, Escherichia coli ATCC 10536, and kills 99.99% Candida albicans ATCC 1023, on hard, non-porous
surfaces within 1 metre of the device, after a five minute exposure.

1. About this manual
The purpose of this manual is to ensure the correct and safe use of the UVD Robot Model C. It is
targeted towards trained operators of the UVD Robot Model C. Make sure to carefully read the content of
this manual before using the robot. Keep this manual handy for easy access at all times and as
reference for future use.
Note that the installation and maintenance of a UVD Robot must be performed by your UVD Robots
supplier or a UVD Robots qualified technician. Please contact the relevant party if an installation or
maintenance operation is required.

2. Intended use
The use of the UVD robot Model C is a supplement to, and not a substitute for, standard infection
control practices. Users must continue to follow all current infection control practices, including those
practices related to cleaning and disinfection of environmental surfaces.
The robot is intended to be used in an enclosed environment by trained operators. The robot must not be
used by children or people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge. No humans or animals are allowed in the room while a disinfection is taking place.
Always maintain visual contact with the robot while driving through the user interface.

3. Safety information
This section must be read by all operators of the UVD Robot.
3.1. Warnings and Precautions
WARNING is used to indicate a potentially
hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION is used to indicate a potentially
hazardous situation which, if not avoided,
could result in minor or moderate injury or in
property damage.
NOTICE is used to address safety-related
practices not related to physical injury (for
example, maintenance information that, if not
followed, might result in equipment damage).

3.2. Important safety notices
The operation of this robot is strictly reserved for trained and qualified operators.
Stairway and floor level difference warning!
● A UVD Robot should not be placed or operated within 1.5 metres (5 feet) from a stairway or any
surface difference bigger than 5 cm.
● If it is not possible to restrict the operation of the robot to an area without differences in floor level,
then the operator should place stanchion posts distributed by UVD Robots to physically prevent the
robot from driving through the hazardous area.

UV-C light exposure warning!
● Human exposure to UV-C light can result in severe injury to skin and eyes.
● The disinfection process must take place when the robot is under enclosed / isolated conditions to
avoid human injuries such as conjunctivitis or erythema. Ensure that no person or animal is in the
room and that all windows and doors are locked when the lamps are on during a disinfection.
● You must strictly adhere to the instructions in this guide.
Stored energy warning!
● The robot contains stored energy in the batteries.
Battery warning!
● Never use a damaged battery. The battery used in this product may present a risk of fire or chemical
burn if mistreated. Batteries may explode if damaged.
● Only recharge your battery with the original docking station or charger provided with this product.
Use of other batteries may present a risk of fire or explosion and the warranty will be terminated.
● Batteries should not be removed or replaced by the user, any attempt to do so is risky and may result
in product damage. Contact your UVD Robots supplier if a replacement battery is necessary.
● Never tamper with the batteries.
● Dispose of the batteries according to local regulations. Do not dispose of the robot as household
waste or in a fire, as the batteries may explode.
Docking station warning!
● Always use the original docking station supplied by UVD Robots, reference number 10927, as the
use of any alternative docking stations will invalidate any warranty. Never use a docking station that
is damaged.
● Do not attempt to disassemble the docking station as it may expose you to dangerous electric shock.
Incorrect reassembly can cause electric shock or fire when the product is subse-quently used.
● Avoid charging your robot in extremely high or low temperatures and do not use the docking station
outdoors or in damp areas.
● The docking station must be connected to the power mains and grounded in compliance with the
effective standards and regulations.

Emergency charger warning!
● Always use the original NOCO Genius GX2440 charger supplied by UVD Robots. The use of any
other charger may damage or destroy the product and could be dangerous. Never use a charger that
is damaged. The use of other chargers will invalidate any warranty.
● Do not attempt to disassemble the charger as it may expose you to dangerous electric shock.
Incorrect reassembly can cause electric shock or fire when the product is subse-quently used.
● Avoid charging your robot in extremely high or low temperatures and do not use the charger outdoors
or in damp areas.
● The charger must be connected to the power mains and grounded in compliance with the effective
standards and regulations.
● Avoid touching the charger immediately after use as it may be hot.
Electrical warning!
● To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not remove the covers or try to access any internal parts of the
robot unless instructed to in this user manual.
● Always store and use the robot away from water.
● Do not touch the power cord or any other connected cables with wet hands.
● In case of robot failure, damaged cables, or tablet damage refer servicing to your UVD Robots
supplier.
Collisions warning!
To avoid the risk of collisions, slips, trips, and falls that can cause serious injuries:
● Remove hazardous objects from the robot’s path.
● When using the robot in manual mode, drive responsibly and keep the robot away from edges and
obstacles. Avoid driving the robot onto holes, stairways, escalators, into open elevator shafts, or any
area where there is a significant drop in elevation, as serious damage may result if the robot falls
down. It is the operator’s responsibility to drive carefully and avoid contact with obstacles and
individuals, as the robot is not designed to avoid them in manual mode.
● In order to avoid the risk of the robot falling, place an item (not black) higher than 25 cm in front of
one of the above mentioned obstacles.
● Avoid inclinations above 12.5% (7.1
o
) as the robot could enter an uncontrollable slip. When on ramps
or inclined surfaces, avoid sudden stops and use only low speed down ramps.
● Ensure that the maps in the app are regularly updated by an authorized person to avoid the risk of
collisions when running in autonomous mode.
Physical harm due to moving parts warning!
● Never operate the UVD Robot if someone has their hands or any other body parts touching the
wheels.
Supervision warning!
● Before using the robot all operators must read the safety instructions. If an operator has (or must be
expected to have) difficulties reading or understanding the safety instructions they should be read
and explained to the operator by an adult who has read and understood the safety instructions.
● This equipment is intended for indoor use only. It must not be used outdoors or around road
traffic.
● It is strongly recommended that the robot is not left unattended where it can be accessed by others.
● Ensure that third parties, particularly children, elderly people, and patients, are not endangered when
operating the robot.
Humidity warning!
Ambient humidity in the robot environment must be within the range detailed in Section 4.4.

Travel surface warning!
There is danger of personal injury and / or damage to the robot if surfaces are wet or slippery, as the
robot could enter an uncontrollable slip. Standard hard, flat, homogeneous surface flooring is preferred,
e.g. linoleum or standard tiles. Slippery surfaces and high splash areas such as showers and kitchens
should be avoided if not dry.
Remove any wires or other objects less than 20 cm off the floor on the floor to prevent the robot from
tangling with the wires and tipping over, as the robot’s sensors have difficulty detecting them.
Manual drive warning!
Maintain visual contact with the robot when driving it manually with the user interface to make sure the
precautions established in the collision and travel surface warnings are followed.
Manual handling warning!
● During transport or other operations which require you to manually move the robot, ensure that the
robot is always kept in the vertical position. The wheels need to be unlocked before moving the robot.
Handling should be done using appropriate, safe, manual handling techniques and precautions to
reduce the risk of injury.
● Never move the robot by pushing on the UV tower.
● Do not attempt to ride on the robot or add any load to the robot at any time.
● Neither the robot nor the tablet may be used by children or any other untrained individual, and should
not be considered a toy.
Maintenance warning!
● Do not remove the covers without first completely removing power from the robot.
● Before cleaning, unplug the docking station or charger and turn off the robot.
● The cord and docking station may only be dry-dusted.
● Clean the robot by wiping it with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do NOT use alcohol-based products, as
they can damage plastic coatings over time. Do NOT use compressed air. Do NOT clean the UV
lamps.
Safety sensors warning!
● Do not permanently disable safety sensors as doing so will remove the detection capability of the
robot, potentially leading to injuries or damage.
Ultraviolet lamps warning!
● Do not touch the UV lamps without cut-resistant gloves.
● UV lamps will reach high temperatures during normal operation and can cause skin burns if touched.
After operation, UV lamps will take up to 10 minutes to cool. Do not touch the lamps within 10
minutes of turning them off.
● Avoid touching or scratching the glass section of the lamp. Fingerprints weaken the lamp
electromagnetic envelope, and this may lead to lamp breakage.
● Lamps should only be touched for the purpose of maintenance.
● Do not operate the robot if any of the lamps are damaged. Contact your UVD Robots supplier for
support.
● If a lamp breaks there is a risk of personal injury and mercury vapors can be released, posing a
health hazard. In the case of breakage, ventilate the room for 30 minutes and no persons or animals
are allowed in the room in this period of time. After 30 minutes the broken parts can be collected
using cut-resistant gloves, a broom, and dustpan. Never use a vacuum cleaner. Put the broken parts
in a sealed container and dispose of them in compliance with national regulations.
