INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the VTech®Kidi Super Star®Move!

Kidi Super Star®Move helps encourage your child to sing, dance,

perform and create!

With the 4 built-in sing-along songs and 4 built-in Games & Tools, there

is plenty of singing and learning fun! You can also plug in an external

music player (not included) to listen to your own music via a 3.5mm

jack! Use Music Magic mode to reduce or remove the main vocal track

of a song, so you can sing along to your favourite songs as the lead!

Volume Control

Switch

This controls the volume of the whole unit, turn

this switch to adjust the whole unit’s volume at

any time.

NOTE: In accordance with EU Law, Kidi

Super Star®Move complies with the maximum

volume output standards set to protect your

child's hearing.

Music Magic

Button

Music Magic mode works in Singing Fun

mode and External Music Connection mode. It

reduces or removes the main vocal track from

most songs. This allows you to perform like a

Super Star and sing along to the music as the

lead. Press the Music Magic button to toggle

between Music Magic mode and Normal mode.

Music Magic mode:

Reduce or remove the main vocal track from

songs*.

Normal mode:

Normal music playback, without reduced or

removed vocals.

*NOTE: The Music Magic feature may not

work for all songs. Its effectiveness varies from

song to song. For best results, stereo songs

are recommended, but we cannot guarantee

Music Magic will work for every song. It is not

recommended to use Music Magic for mono

songs or live concert performances, etc.

Record Press this button to start or stop Recording.

NOTE: Kidi Super Star®Move records up to a

maximum of 2 minutes.

When recording, please do not remove the

batteries, otherwise the recording will be

erased.

Playback Press this button to play or pause your

recording. Kidi Super Star®Move will also exit

the previous mode after this button is pressed.

To return to the previous mode, press the

Home button and select your desired mode

again.

different microphone effects when using the

microphone:

Press this button to add an applause and

clapping sound effect over your performance:

Home Press this button to enter the home menu for

different activities.

Press these buttons to make a selection.

OK Button Press this button to conrm your selection.

Audio-in Jack Used to plug in an external music player (not

included) using the supplied 3.5mm jack audio

cable.

NOTE: Please ensure a rm connection on

both ends of the audio cable.

WARNING:All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets,

packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties and

packaging screws are not part of this toy, and should

be discarded for your child’s safety.

Note: Please keep this parent's guide as it contains important

information.

This product is only to be connected to equipment of Class II (marked

on the marking plate with a symbol ).

GETTING STARTED

BATTERY INSTALLATION

Kidi Super Star®Move uses 2 AA size batteries.

• Make sure the unit is turned OFF.

• Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit.

• Remove the battery cover and install 2 AA size batteries as

illustrated.

• Close the battery cover.

BATTERy NOTICE

• Use new alkaline batteries or fully charged NI-MH (Nickel Metal-

hydride) rechargeable batteries for best performance.

• Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.

• Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-

zinc) or rechargeable, or new and used batteries.

• Do not use damaged batteries.

• Insert batteries with the correct polarity.

• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.

• Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.

• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.

• Do not dispose of batteries in re.

• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.

• Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if

removable).

• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult

supervision.

Disposal of batteries and product

The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and

batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they

must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain

substances that can be damaging to the environment and

human health.

The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked, indicate

that the battery contains more than the specied value of

mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set out in Battery

Directive (2006/66/EC).

The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on the market after

13th August, 2005.

TO BEGIN USING KIDI SUPER STAR®

MOVE

ACTIVATING NORMAL PLAY

Press the ON/OFF Button to turn the unit ON and enter normal play

mode.

LOW BATTERY ICON

When the batteries are exhausted, the low battery icon will be

displayed and the unit will automatically shut off. Please replace the

batteries with a full set of new batteries before further use.

AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF

To preserve battery life, Kidi Super Star®Move will automatically shut

off if there is no input after a short period of time in Game mode. In

Singing Fun and Free Play mode, the automatic shut off time will be

longer. The automatic shut off time can be chosen for external music

connection in settings.

ACTIVITIES

Press the Home button to enter the home menu for different activities.

1. Free Play

Here it is just you and the microphone. You can use your

imagination to create your own concert, talk show, talent

show, or to just play around and have fun! It’s Show

Time!

2. Singing Fun

Choose the Singing Fun activity to learn and sing along

to 4 built-in songs. Press the selection buttons to choose

a song and press the OK button to begin. When you are

ready, press the Music Magic button to remove the main

vocal track from the built-in songs and sing by yourself

like a Super Star!

NOTE: For the lyrics of the 4 built-in sing-along songs, please refer to

the Appendix.

3. External Music Connection

Plug in an external music player (not included) via the

provided 3.5mm jack audio cable to listen to your own

music! From here, you can press the Music Magic button

to reduce or remove the main vocal track from the current

song. Now you can sing along and be a Super Star!

You can also set an auto-off timer in this mode. For details, please

refer to the Settings section of this guide.

The Volume Controls on the microphone cannot control the volume

of external devices. Please use the volume controls on your external

music player to increase or decrease volume.

Music Magic mode may not apply for all songs. For details, you may

refer to the Music Magic section under PRODUCT FEATURES.

NOTE: Please disconnect your external music player

if it is not in use. You can wind the 3.5mm jack audio

cable around the Kidi Super Star®Move and hook it as

illustrated.

4. GAMES & TOOLS

After entering the Games & Tools menu, press the selection buttons to

choose a game or tool, pressing the OK button to conrm.

4.1 Music Catcher

Catch the music note on the right beat. Press the

selection buttons and OK button to play. When

the music note is in the target area, push the

corresponding button to catch it. Try to catch them all!

4.2 Silly Beat, Silly Song

When there is a smiling face in the target area, press

the OK button to play a silly sound!

4.3 Beat Boxer

Beat Boxer is a tool that provides different musical

beats for your own beat box creation. You can create,

sing and beat box along to your preferred beat and

record it! Play it back to see how great your beat box

creation was!

4.4 Tongue Twisters

Challenge yourself to master all of these tricky Tongue

Twisters! Press the selection buttons to select a twister

and then press the OK button to conrm. Listen to the

instructions and repeat the Tongue Twister! Press the

OK button when you’ve nished and to select the next

Tongue Twister! Can you master them all?

NOTE: For all of the Tongue Twister sentences, please refer to the

APPENDIX.

5. Settings

Here you can change the below settings:

• Light Brightness

• Auto-off Timer of the External Music Connection

• Contrast

5.1 Light Brightness

Press the selection buttons to set the light brightness. Press the OK

button to save.

5.2 Auto-off Timer of the External Music Connection

Here you can change the Auto-off Time of the External Music

Connection. To do this, use the selection buttons to choose your

desired auto off time and then press the OK button to save.

5.3 Contrast

Press the selection buttons to set the contrast. Press the OK button

to save.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.

2. Handle the unit carefully.

3. Keep the unit away from dusty or dirty areas.

4. Keep the unit away from moisture or extreme temperatures.

5. Do not disassemble the unit. If a problem occurs, remove the

existing batteries and replace them with a brand new set of batteries

to reset the device.

6. Do not drop the unit on a hard surface and do not expose it to or

immerse it in water.
