Thank you for purchasing VTech®ROCKameleon™ learning toy! This
product is one of a family of high quality electronic learning toys. We at
VTech®are committed to providing the best possible products to entertain

The VTech®ROCKameleon™ learning toy is a friendly plush chameleon
specifically designed for infants 3 months and up. The VTech®
ROCKameleon™ incorporateslight,sound, and music tostimulatebaby’s

WARNING: All packing materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, wire
ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should be
discarded for your child’s safety.
For information on this product’s warranty, please call VTech®at 1-800-

BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of
the unit. Use a screwdriver to loosen the
screw.
3. Install 2 new “AAA” (UM-4 /LR03) batteries
following the diagram inside the battery
box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is
recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery
cover.
BATTERY NOTICE
• Install batteries correctly observing the polarity ( +, - ) signs to avoid
leakage.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to
be used.
• Remove batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for
an extended period of time.

• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
• Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES.
NOTE: If for any reason the program/activity stops working, please follow
these steps:
1. Turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
If the problem persists, please call our Consumer Services

Canada, and a service representative will be happy to help you.
TO BEGIN PLAY
1. Slide the OFF/LOW/HIGH SELECTOR
SWITCH to the LOW ( ) or the HIGH
() position to turn the unit ON. You will
hearashort tuneand“Shakeit”. Thelights
will flash with the sound.
2. To adjust the volume, slide the OFF/LOW/
HIGH SELECTOR SWITCH to the ( )
position for LOW VOLUME or the ( )
position for HIGH VOLUME.

3. Slide the OFF/LOW/HIGH SELECTOR
SWITCH totheOFF ( )positionto turn the
unitOFF.
Note:TheVTech®ROCKameleon™ willautomaticallyturnoffafterseveral
minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by shaking
the unit or pulling the legs.
ACTIVITIES
1. Pull one of the front legs to play a drum
sound effect. The lights will flash with the
sound.
2. Shaketheunit to hear random responses:
a) Hear a sung song: “Red, Red, Red
as the love in your heart; Green,
Green as the trees; Yellow as the
bright sun!” The light according to
the color will flash with the phrase.
b) Hear random melodies. The lights will
flash with the sound.
c) Hear “Shake it!” The lights will flash
with the sound.

3. When a melody is playing, pull one of the
front legs to hear the drum sound effect
play on top of the melody. The lights will
flash with the melody.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit away from direct sunlight and heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period
of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to
moisture or water.
