fuelandtheeconomicandenvironmentalaspectsassociatedwiththeproductionline.
1.3Fuelfeatures
Themainfeatureofthisheateristhatitburnsanaturalfuel(thepellet)obtainedinan
environmentally‐friendlywayfromscrapsofthetimberindustry(woodchippings,sawdust,
etc.).
Woodchippingsandsawdustfromwoodproducts,afterhavingbeendulyre‐cleanedanddried,
arecompactedinstate‐of‐the‐artveryhigh‐pressureplants,intopureroundedwoodpieces:the
pellet.Eachroundedpiececanhavevariablelengthsandthicknesses,respectivelybetween1÷3
cminlengthand6÷8mmindiameter.Thepellet’smainfeaturesarelowmoisturecontent
(below12%),itshighdensity(=600kg/m30aswellasitsregularityandcompactnessthatgive
thistypeoffuelcharacteristicsofhighcalorificpower(I.C.P.4000÷5000kcal/kg).
