1. Hardware Installation
1.1. Unpacking
Open the package and carefully unpack the switch
The box should contain following items*:
One MEN-9632 –24-slot 100FX/GbE SFP, 4-Gigabit Combo ports, L3 Managed
switch
One Console Cable –DB9 (RS232)
One AC power cord
One user manual cd
Accessories pack –Rack-mount rubber foot, bracket, screw etc.
* Contents of the package can be adjusted based on customer demand

1.2. Product Layout
Front View
The front panel of the MEN-9632 consists of 24-100FX/GbE SFP slots, 4-Gigabit
Combo ports, AC power socket, LEDs and Console port.
Rear View
The rear view panel of the MEN-9632 consists of 12V Battery connector and/or 48V
DC input

1.3. Connecting AC/DC/Battery Power
The MEN-9632 supports 240V AC and 12V battery or 48V DC power supplies.
AC
Battery
•Connect battery to switch and check polarity
•Connect Positive (+) to Positive (+) and Negative (-) to Negative (-)
DC
LED indicating AC Power input
LED indicating Redundant Power input
LED indicating wrong polarity
when battery is connected in reverse
polarity before the switch is On
LED indicating correct polarity

1.4. Installing SFP modules and Fiber cables
Steps to install SFP modules:
•Slide the SFP module into the selected SFP slot (Make sure SFP module is
aligned correctly with the SFP slot)
•Insert and slide the module into the SFP slot until it clicks into place
Steps to install Fiber cables:
•Remove any rubber plugs that may be present in SFP module’s mouth
•Align the Fiber cable’s connector with SFP module’s mouth and insert the
connector

•To pull the connector out, press the release clip and pull the connector from
SFP module
