1.1 EXPLANATION OF SYMBOLS

device and keep this manual on hand for the entire service life of the product!

There are 4 different versions of the hand assembly tool:
The hand assembly tools HMRK-L and HMRK-V are very light and especially designed for
assembling LOKRING connectors type 00. They are only suitable for tube connections to a
maximum ø of 16 mm (5/8"). The hand assembly tools HMRK-V and MZ-V have arms that
can be angled to enable use in areas that are difficult to access. The intended use of the hand
assembly tool is to assemble LOKRING tube and hose connections. These connections must only
be assembled with the intended (interchangeable) assembly jaws (A). A different use, such as use
as an impact tool or lever tool, is not permitted.

2.0 SAFETY

Hold the tool with both hands in such a manner that the possibility
of injury due to the jaws moving together is excluded.

For all tasks with the hand assembly tool the relevant safety
regulations, in particular the accident prevention regulations issued by
the employers’ liability insurance associations must be complied with.

Non-intended use of the hand assembly tool, such as “use as an impact tool
or lever tool” can entail severe injuries and consequently is not allowed.

The hand assembly tools are intended for the manual operation of one person.
NEVER connect the pliers to a drive! Through excessive strain parts can be
destroyed and cause injuries.

If there are indications of irregular function and performance,
stop using the tool immediately and service or repair the tool.

Take the hand assembly tool out of its packaging. A thin film of oil has been applied to the hand
assembly tool. Remove excess oil with a lint-free cloth. Open and close the hand assembly tool
a few times to check the functionality of the hand assembly tool.
3.0 USE
3.1 BEFORE FIRST USE
The assembly jaws up to tube size ø 16 mm (5/8") are suitable for all hand assembly tools.
Larger assembly jaws can only be used in the hand assembly tools MZ or MZ-V. There are two
different types of LOKRING connectors 00 and 50:
3.2 ASSEMBLY JAWS
LOKRING TYPE 00 LOKTOOL MB
For type 00 (e.g. LOKRING 8 NK Ms 00) the assembly jaw without MB EVP designation is used
(e.g. LOKTOOL MB 8). An overview of which assembly jaw is required for which LOKRING connec-
tor is provided in the current catalog. Select the appropriate assembly jaw depending on type and
size in the current catalog and only use this jaw.
LOKRING TYPE 50 LOKTOOL MB EVP
For the LOKRING connectors type 50 (e.g. LOKRING 16 NK Ms 50) the assembly jaw with the
MB EVP designation is used (e.g. LOKTOOL MB 16 EVP).

3.3 INSERTION
OF THE ASSEMBLY JAWS
Insert the suitable assembly jaws
as shown. Attention! Always insert
bolts from the proper side. If you
hold the tool as shown, insert the
left bolt from the front and the
right bolt from the rear.
3.4 HMRK-V AND MZ-V
Only type HMRK-V and MZ-V:
The angle of the holding arm (F)
can be adjusted in accordance with
installation conditions. By loosening
the fixing pawl (D) the holding
arm (F) can be set in three different
angles. Attention! Fixing pawl (D)
again be locked in place!

Place the tool on the tube
connection as shown.
Both rings of the LOKRING
connector are assembled
simultaneously.
3.5 ASSEMBLY OF LOKRING

Open and close the assembly
arm (E) until the tube connection
is correctly assembled. To
release the hand assembly tool,
completely open the assembly
arm (E) so that the pawl (C) is
not engaged in the sprocket, and
the assembly jaws have opened
again. Comment: If at assembly,
sufficient work travel of the
assembly arm (E) is not available,
the work range can be enlarged by
adjusting the holding arm (F). See
chapter 3.4 HMRK-V and MZ-V.
