Operation

Nautic 40D is a safe diesel

heaterwithnoopenflame.

Theheaterextracts

combustionairfromthe

installationspacethrough

theholeinthebottomand

blowstheexhaustgasesout.

Thereforethesteamfromthe

exhaustgaswillnotstayin

theboatto add humidity.

Astheoilburns,the

releasedheatis transferred

tothe air circulatingintheair

ductswith a heat exchanger.

Theheaterissteplessly

adjustable.

Theairisextractedthrough

thesuctionductfromthe

desiredplace, for example,

freshoutdoorair,and the air

ductstransfertheairto

spaceswhere heating is

required.Thankstothe

suctionducttheheatercan

alsobeinstalled in the

engineroom.

Theheatercan also beused

inventilationsothatit

circulatesair to theboat

throughthesuctionand blow

airducts. This keepsthe air

freshintheboat.

Theheatingcapacityofthe

device is best suited to 9–12

mlongboats.

Optionalcontrolpanelsare a

BasicControlPanel with

indicatorlamps and an

intelligentInfoControl Panel.

Theheaterismadeentirely

ofstainlessmaterials.

It is recommended

that the heater is not

installed in the

engine space, if the

primary fuel used is

paraffin.

The heater must not be installed in a space where

there may be petrol fumes. Risk of explosion.

The installation

space of the heater

must have a

replacement air

opening of at least

100 cm2.

Please note the following in installation

Theheaterismountedtothe

bulkhead.Thisheatercannot

beinstalledon the deck.

Thestandardwireforthe

controlpanelis6m long.A

10 m wire is available as an

accessory.

TheInfoControlPanel

containsafixedthermostat.

Itisrecommendedthat

indoor air circulates inside

theInfoControl Panel.

Theexhaustgaspipemust

beinsulated with aØ 45 mm

jackettube.

INSTALLATION

Whensealable deck lead-

through2460isused,

elevation set 2069 for deck

lead-throughmustbeused.

Theheateris equipped with

2 x Ø 75 mm blower

connections.Inorderto

securesufficientair flow,the

heating air is divided to at

leastfourgratings.

Theupper of the2xØ 75

mmsuctionconnectionsof

theheateris installed to

extractfreshairfromthe

outside,andthelower to

extractairfrom inside the

boat.Protectivenetswithout

throttlevalvesareattached

totheendsofthe suction

pipes,andthe hole for

outdoor air also needs to be

protectedappropriately

againsttheweather.

Mounting the device

Attachtheheater’smounting

piece to the dampening

plate(figure2).Attachthe

dampeningplateto the

bulkhead(figure3).Attach

theheatertothemounting

piece by clicking the rails of

themountingpiecetothe

groovesin the sidesofthe

heater(figure4). Lock the

heaterinplacethroughits

suspenderswiththelong

mountingbolts(figure5).

Mounting the control

panel

Bothcontrolpanelsare

attachedtothewallwiththe

enclosedscrews(figure6).If

desired, it is possible to do

aflushmounting byremoving

thecollarofthecontrol

panel.

Connections

Maketheconnectionsforthe heater as shown inthe figuresbelow.

a) Tighten the exhaust gas pipe in place with a hose clamp. The exhaust gas pipe and the heater’s connector

must overlap at least 5 cm.

b) make an opening to the jacket tube for the hose clamp of the exhaust gas pipe.

Use on a Basic

Control Panel

Heating

Theheaterstarts

automaticallywhenthe

powerswitchis turned to

HEATposition. First there is

atestingphaseduring which

theyellowandredlamps

blinkin turn.Thentheyellow

powerindicator lamp will

lightupandtheactual

ignitionbegins.The ignition

takesabout5minutes during

whichtheredheatinglamp

willlightup.Theheating

lampislitwhen the

combustionhassmoothened

intheburner.Afterthe

ignitiontheheater can be

adjustedwiththecontrol

panel.

Theheaterwillnot

necessarilystartatfirst after

theinstallationwhenthefuel

hoseisempty. Then the

combustionlightstartsto

blinkafterthestart-up.Turn

thepowerswitch to OFF

position.Theheatercannot

berestarteduntilthecooling

hasbeencompleted and all

indicatorlampshave gone

out.Oncetheindicator

lampshavegoneout,restart

theheaterbyswitching it to

HEATposition.

Turnthepower switch to

OFFposition to switchoff

theheater.Thecoolingofthe

heatertakes about 10

minutesafterswitch-off.

Duringcoolingthe power

lampis lit,andthe red

heatinglampblinks.After

coolingall indicator lamps

goout.

Ventilation

Turn the powerswitchto

VENTposition to start

ventilation.Boththeyellow

powerindicator lamp and

thegreenventilation

indicatorlamplight up

immediately.Theefficiency

oftheventilationairflowcan

beadjustedwiththe power

adjustmentknob.Turnthe

powerswitch to OFF

positiontostopventilation.

Use on an Info Control Panel

TheInfoControlPanelis

equippedwitha two-line

illuminatedtextdisplayin

whichtheupperline

indicatesthecurrentmenu

andthelowerlinesuggests

aprocedure.If no keyis

pushedfor30 seconds, the

operatingmode of the

devicewill be displayed.

Whentheheaterisnoton,

thedisplay goes outaftera

separatelydefinedtime.

Pushanykeytoactivatethe

display.

Themenustructureofthe

InfoControlPanelisshown

intable 2.

Themainmenu is used to

monitortheoperationof the

heaterandchangesettings.

Someofthemainmenutext,

e.g.“Reseterror”,areonly

displayedwhentheyneedto

beselected. The password

requiredforchangingthe

parametersisonly given to

authorisedWallas repair

shops.

Heating

Select“Heating”under

Functioninthemain menu.

Whenintheheatingmode,

presstheON/OFF key to

starttheheater.The ignition

takesabout5 minutes after

whichthebasic display state

showstheEffectcontrol as a

percentage(Directcontrol),

orthetext“heating”andin

turnthesettemperatureof

thethermostatandthe

measuredtemperature

(Thermostatcontrol).

Usethearrow keys to

changethetemperatureand

effectsetting.Ifyou want to

setanewvalue as the

default,pressfinallyEnter.

Theheaterwillnot

necessarilystartatfirst after

theinstallationwhenthefuel

hoseisempty.Thenthe

ignitionstops at “Flame out”

errorafterstart-up.The

heatercannotberestarted

untilthecoolinghasbeen

completed.Resettheerror

inthemainmenuandrestart

theheater.

PresstheON/OFF key to

switchtheheateroff.The

coolingofthe heater takes

about10minutesafter

switch-off.

Enter: Resets the choice of a menu displayed on the lower line or a new

value.

ON/OFF: Switches the device on and off. The key is only active in

functionmode.

Select“Ventilation”under

Functioninthemain menu.

Wheninthe ventilation

mode,pressthe ON/OFF

keytostartventilation.Use

thearrowkeystoadjustthe

ventilationairflow.Press the

ON/OFFkeytoswitchthe

ventilationoff.

If the device will not

start, even though

the fuel has reached

the pump, do not try

to start it more than

twice without

checking the cause

Thesafetyfunctions inthe

heater’selectronicsswitch

theheater off incaseofan

error.Whenusing Info

ControlPanel,thecauseof

theerror is displayed onthe

screenas an errorstate

message.Reset the error in

themainmenu. When using

aBasic Control Panel,the

indicatorlampsshowthe

causeoftheerror. Reset the

errorbyswitchingoffthe

powerfromtheheater.

Thecauseofanerrormust

alwaysbeexaminedand

fixedbeforethenextstart-up.

Ifnecessary,contactthe

nearestWallasrepairshop.
