increasingly realistic driving experience.
Before you install or use the product, please carefully read the
manual which will provide all the information required for the
rst installation, the possible congurations and its use.
Manual information
This documentation must be printed and kept in a safe place for
reference at all times. It must be considered an integral part of the
product and must be transferred with it if it is sold.
The illustrations contained in this manual are for information
purposes only and are not binding. Wave S.r.l. reserves the right
to make any changes to the contents of the manual without prior
notice. The product specications are subject to change without
prior notice due to continuous product improvement and re-
nement. Therefore this documentation may dier slightly to the
characteristics of the product. Any substantial changes to the
product will in any case be accompanied by appropriate docu-

Product information
The product has been designed and manufactured to be used in
indoor places protected from rain.
Do not disassemble or modify the components of the product.
Do not expose to direct sunlight and heat sources. Do not leave
the product in a damp place or exposed to dust.
Do not leave the device below other objects, as the product could
be damaged by crushing.
Do not step on the product in any way.
Do not throw or drop the product and do not expose it to strong

Description of the product
Wave Impact is a professional steering wheel for virtual simu-
lation, designed on the basis of controllers actually used on F1
racing cars, reliable and completely customisable.
The product has been designed and made using top-quality
materials such as anodised aluminium for the manettino dials,
high resistance plastic for the external bodies and carbon
levers for the gear and clutch. The grips are coated in Alcantara
for a rened design and greater comfort during use and more
intense race sessions.
The steering wheel is basically sold with a 3 x 50.8 mm CPL
connection with M5 threaded holes.
Wave S.r.l. can supply dierent types of adapters as special
accessories to install on specic engine units.

If there are 2 clutch levers, lever 11A is replaced with a
potentiometer to adjust the clutches.

Steering wheel connections
Wave srl has designed the Wave Impact steering wheel to be
easily and quickly connected to a computer which supports the
Windows system.
Perform the connection only by using the supplied cable. The
connection to the computer will also power the device.
• Connect the bayonet connector of the coiled cable to the
input at the back of the steering wheel as indicated in the
gure.
!Check that the two red circular position indicators correctly
match before exerting pressure on the connector.
• Connect the end of the cable with the USB connector into a
port on the computer.
!For correct operation, it is strongly recommended to connect
the steering wheel to a USB port based on 3.0 protocol.

• Press the ON/OFF button at the back of the steering wheel.
Once connected to the computer, Wave Impact will automati-
cally download the drivers necessary for its operation.
• Access the “Windows”menu, through the icon on the tool-
bar, and select Control panel.
• Select Devices and Printers.
• Check that the device is recognised verifying that the icons
Wave Impact BB (a) and Wave Impact LC (b) are displayed
among the devices.
Clutch lever calibration
When purchasing the item, the Wave Impact steering wheel
can be congured with one or two clutch levers.
!The screens on the monitor may dier slightly from those
shown in the picture.

Proceed as follows to calibrate the clutch levers:
• Access the “Windows”menu, through the icon on the tool-
bar, and select Control panel.
• Select Devices and Printers.
• Right-click on Wave Impact LC (a) controller and select Game
controller settings (b).
!Check on the screen that the device status is “ok”.
• Select Wave Impact LC from the list.
• Click Properties (c) to open a new setting and test screen.
• Scroll to the Settings window (d), and click Calibrate (e) to
access the service.

• Click Next (f) to go to the next screen.
• Without pressing any button or lever on the steering wheel,
click Next (g) to go to the next screen.
• As in the previous screen, click Next (h), without pressing
any button or lever on the steering wheel, to go to the next
screen.
The blue bar (i) on the screen reacts to movement when you
press the clutch lever. This way the minimum and maximum
travel values will be dened.
!For ideal calibration, do not allow the clutch lever to strongly
strike the mechanical limit switches when close to its two
maximum travels. This allows to avoid o scale values from
being recorded with respect to normal use.
• Click Next (l) to go to the next screen.
• Click End to complete the calibration process.
!If a new calibration is required for any reason, you can resto-
re the default values by clicking Reset to default (m).

Steering wheel conguration
To start the rst conguration of the Wave Impact Steering
wheel, it is
required to install the SimHub software supplied on the
pen drive included.
• Copy the les WaveImpact.hmistruct and WaveImpact.sam-
ple. ini in the SimHub installation directory:
\SimHub\NextionTemplate.
• Launch the SimHub software.
• Select Arduino (a) from the left drop-down menu.
• Select My Hardware (b) and click Single Arduino (c).
• Select Scan only selected ports (d) at the bottom part of the
screen.
• Select the COM port referring to the communication of the
steering wheel LEDs.
!Check the correct COM port on the Windows Device Manage-
ment interface.
