Assembling:
Assemble the housing with the delivered screws like the following drawing:
1) Adapting the thread rails inside of the 2 guide tracks
2) Fix the side and top cover with the side fixtures to the 3 guide tracks using
the delivered screws.
Scope of delivery:
-1 pcs. top cover (a)
-2 pcs. side cover (b)
-2 pcs. fixture brackets (c)
-2 pcs. thread rails (d)
-2 pcs. guide tracks for adapting the thread rails (e)
-1 pcs. guide track for holding the chameleons (f)
-4 pcs. 4-edge shim and 1 flat headed screw for ground connection (g)
-1 pcs. blind-cover plate with Logo for covering the middle slot, always needed (h)
-2 pcs. blind-cover plates 4 point, for covering the unused slots (k)
-1 pcs. DC power connection (m)
-1 pcs. AC power connection
-2 pcs. Earth / Ground connection
-12 pcs. Screws for mounting (n)

Assembling the Chameleon modules in the GN40:
1. Turn the GN40 on the backside and insert the chameleon modules.
2. Turn the GN40 on the bottom side and fix the chameleon modules at their
back with the delivered nuts (2).
Important! Ventilation of the Chameleon modules:
• The ventilation is important to prevent the over heating of the chameleon
modules.
• Ensure that the ventilation ways are free and that the top cover is mounted.
• Ensure that there is free space at the rear side.

Blind cover plates:
Crack the blind cover plates for cover the unused slots of the GN40 and fix it on
the housing with the screws. Note that the blind cover plates are needed to
ensure correct ventilation. Also, make sure to use the logotype blind cover (h) in
the middle.
Fan / Power unit:
Install the fan /power unit in the 19’’ rack and install the GN40 unit on top of it with
the delivered screws.
There is no guide rail for the rack needed, the GN40 can be installed directly on
the cabinet fixture brackets.

Connecting the cables:
Insert the Chameleon modules in the GN 40 and fix the screws
1) Connect the ground/earth to the GN 40 and the fan unit with the 4 edge shim
and flat headed screws.
2) Connect the DC power supply to the modules and fan unit on the backside
with the delivered cable harness.
3) Connect the inputs and outputs to each chameleon module on the backside.
4) Connect the AC power cable to the power unit

Important information!
•Operation of the GN 40 is only allowed while the fan unit is running.
•The Chameleon module has a temperature sensor. If it is too hot, the
Chameleon stops running without a warning signal.
•If the fan unit is running, the DC power unit works correctly
•There is no guide rail for the rack needed, the GN 40 is able to be
installed directly on the fixture brackets
Changing the power supply:
• Disconnect the AC an DC power cables and remove the power
supply unit
• Set in the new power supply unit and connect the cables like it was
on the old one.

Caution
The mains voltage must match the rated input voltage of the unit
(230 VAC).
Connecting cable - Lay the cable so that no-one can trip over it.
- Lay the cable with a downward loop so that any water condensing on it can drip on
the floor instead of running into the unit.
Selecting the installation location
Excessive temperatures will reduce the operating lifetime of the unit.
Don't install the unit directly above or in the vicinity of radiators or heating
systems where it would be subjected to thermal radiation or oil vapours.
Moisture
Water dripping or splashing onto the unit will damage it. If there is condensation on the
unit, wait until this has evaporated before switching
the unit on.
Caution – danger!
In accordance with EN 60728-1, the satellite antenna system must comply
with the safety requirements with respect to grounding, potential
equalisation, etc.
Service work
Service work may be carried out only by qualified personnel. Always
disconnect the supply voltage before starting any such work.
Ambient temperature — Not greater than 50 °C.
Thunderstorms
Avoid carrying out service work on the antenna system during thunderstorms.
Caution – danger!
Fuses may be replaced only by qualified personnel. Only fuses of the same
type and rating may be used.
Batteries
Do not throw exhausted batteries in the garbage. They must be disposed
of separately.
All of our packing materials (cardboard boxes, packing notes, plastic films
and plastic bags) can be recycled.
