To make sure that your heating system is properly installed and functions safely, we strongly
advise you to:
- Order your installation ffrom a quali ed specialist who will connect it to the
existing installation. The specialist must be experienced in installing and operating
heating-systems using gas, oil or solid fuel and be acquainted with local building and re
safety regulations.
- Read this manual which will teach you how to use it safely and maintain the system.
- The installation and start-up (setting) of a generator must be carried out by
our own service staff or by quali ed and accredited technicians.
- Any manipulation and modi cation by unauthorised persons as well as the non-
observance of the general recommendations and safety instruction attached therein

Before starting the system, please read the safety instructions. The non-observance of the safety
instructions can put you in dangerous situations and cause damage to the boiler.
a) Safety Instructions
The cogenerator can only be used with a perfectly functioning boiler. Failures or damages
which can have a negative impact on safety should be rectied immediately by qualied personnel.
Access to moving parts and elements under electrical tension is reserved only for competent
personnel.
Before you start any maintenance work, it is necessary to shut down the system completely
and leave time for the boiler to cool off.
It is forbidden to repair or modify our system. Only personnel with appropriate
qualications are entitled to do so.
A non-smoking notice should be placed visibly in the boiler room.
It is recommended to equip the boiler room with a re extinguisher in good working condition
and the room should be ventilated in accordance with current legislation.
Unauthorised persons, and particularly children, should be barred from entering the
boiler room.
It is necessary to inspect the door of the boiler and the connections to the hydraulic lines
once a month, in order to avert leaking or other damages.
Safety devices and protections should not be removed, twisted or blocked in any way.
It is recommended to install an anti-scald protection valve (hot/cold water) on the DHW
network to set the temperature of hot water above 60°C.
The cogenerator can be installed and used only in mechanical and boiler rooms that satisfy
legal requirements.
Protections must be checked once a year by a specialist.

b) Functioning of the cogeneration system
The water comes out of the boiler with a maximum of 110°C and goes through a plate
exchanger (called evaporator) which transfers the calories of the boiler circuit to the turbine
circuit. The uid of the second circuit changes from a liquid to a gaseous state while going
through the exchanger, this steam then goes through a turbine which operates a generator that
produces electricity.
Next to this turbine, there is a second exchanger (called condenser), which transfers the
calories of the turbine circuit to the domestic heating circuit. Next to the condenser, there is a
liquid tank to make sure that the pump absorbs liquid.
Temperature is measured through different sensors:
• In the heating circuit (measures temperature in and out of condenser)
• In the boiler circuit (measures temperature in and out of evaporater)

The heating system must be installed by a qualied professional who is familiar with the
most common heating systems (gas, domestic fuel, wood). The installation must be carried out
in accordance with local building regulations and re safety standards.
Safety practices:
Have the installation carried out by a qualied specialist who is experienced in making
and installing cogeneration systems.
Comply with the local building regulations, re safety regulations and all the current
regulations.
Keep the safety distances set by current legislation.
To prevent the heater from reaching the ‘dew-point’ (point at which dew begins to be
deposited due to cold uid returning), we advise you to install a three-way valve on the
heating return port (minimum 50⁰C).
