Twin Bell Radio Controlled Alarm Clock
Model no: 3105
In General
- The radio controlled clock tunes itself into the time signal broadcast by the
official European standard long wave frequency of 60 kHz. The time signal
transmitter of the Anthorn Radio Station is in Cumbria.
- The high-precision radio signal can be received at 1000 km around
Cumbria (deviation of 1 sec. in 1 million years).
- If the clock is not in the radio signal area or during bad signal conditions the
clock will still run as a quartz clock, until the clock receives the radio signal
again. Then the time will be automatically corrected. The time will
automatically switch between Greenwich Mean Time and Summer Time,
too.
Location
- Place the clock at least 1 meter away from electrical appliances such as
televisions, microwaves, speakers, computers or metallic objects.
- If you use the clock in Ferro concrete buildings place the clock near by
windows or other openings.
- Please note that strong radio and electric supply facilities, airports, railway
routes, high-voltage lines, transformer stations, mountains, valleys etc, as
well as neon lights and bad weather can affect the radio signal.
Inserting the Battery
- Open the battery compartment (6) on the rear of the clock and place one
LR14 battery (baby cell, type C) into the compartment. Observe right
polarity. Close the battery compartment.
1. Alarm ON/OFF Switch
2. Alarm Setting Knob
3. RESET Button
4. Force Receive Button
5. Manual Time Setting
6. Battery Compartment
7. Snooze Button

Operation Procedure with Good Radio Signal
- After inserting the battery the second hand moves clockwise to the 12
o’clock position.
- Within three minutes, the hour and minute hand will move to one of the
three standby positions such as 4, 8 or 12 o’clock.
- The clock will search the radio signal. If the radio signal in your area is
strong, the clock will automatically set itself within 3 to 10 minutes.
- If the clock has found the radio signal and has finished setting, it will seek
out the signal once each day to maintain accuracy.
Operation Procedure with Bad Radio Signal
- If the radio signal is weak or the clock is unable to receive the signal the
hand will not move. The clock will try for several times to receive the signal
within the first 24 hours.
- The radio signal conditions are often strongest between midnight and 4 am.
After 24 hours, if there is no signal at all, the clock hands will move but will
not show the correct time. To save battery, the clock will then start to search
for the radio signal every second hour (on the odd hours: 1, 3 o’clock etc).
- If there is no radio signal at all, place the clock to another location to
receive the signal. In some cases, just moving or turning around, the clock
will maintain better radio reception. Check the battery and replace it, if
necessary.
- For synchronization, if nothing else works, place the clock outside during
midnight and 4 am. But make sure not to expose the clock to humidity.
Remove the battery and reinsert the battery to force the radio signal
searching. After that the clock may probably receive the signal
automatically.
Manual Setting
- Alternatively you can start the radio signal searching with the force receive
button (4).
- If you are not in the radio signal area, you can adjust the clock manually
with the manual time setting button (5). The clock will then run as a quartz
clock.
Setting the Alarm

- Adjust the alarm time by twisting the alarm setting knob (2).
- Switch the alarm ON with the alarm switch (1).
- Press the snooze button (7) to interrupt the alarm. After some minutes the
alarm will start again until you press the alarm switch (1) to switch off the
sound. With the snooze button (7) you switch on the light function, too.
Maintenance and Cleaning
- Replace the battery every year or when the clock loses its ability to receive
the radio signal and the time is incorrect.
- Clean the clock with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use any aggressive detergents
or chemicals.
- If you do not use the clock for long time, remove the battery.
