Thank you for purchasing the ZoneVu Series 328 Video Matrix.
The ZVM-328, ZVM-648 and ZVM-968 are powerful yet compact video matrices, which meet all small
to medium size system requirements.
In conjunction with other products within the ZoneVu range the ZVM-328, ZVM-648 and ZVM-968
provide complete and powerful CCTV solutions.

3. INSTALLATION
To obtain the optimum performance from your ZVM-328, please take time to read this manual before
commencing installation. If you have any questions or problems our staff will be pleased to assist you
on the technical help line listed on page 29.
WARNING THIS EQUIPMENTS POWER SUPPLY UNIT CONTAINS
HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES. THIS EQUIPMENT MUST BE
EARTHED TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK HAZARD. DO NOT
EXPOSE THIS EQUIPMENT TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.
Unpack the ZVM-328 and check the contents against the list below.

3.1 SYSTEM EXPANSION
The ZVM-328 Video Matrix is expandable in blocks of 32 inputs to a maximum size of 96 cameras
and 8 monitors. Hence, the three matrix options are ZVM-328, ZVM-648 and ZVM-968.

3.2 CONNECTING THE ZVM-328
Connect up the ZVM-328 in accordance with diagram below and the Electrical Specification on page
22, paying special attention to the maximum ratings and the notes below.
1. The ZVM-328 MUST be earthed at the earthing tag provided on the housing.
2. ALWAYS use Screened cables for low voltage and signal cables, ensuring the screen is
connected to 0V or Earth.
3. AVOID looming cables of differing characteristics together E.G. Video cables with cables
carrying mains power.
4. The maximum cable run for Twisted Pair is typically 2km.
5. The maximum cable run for VICTA Twisted Pair is typically 600m for type RG11 cable.
6. The maximum number of Telemetry Receivers that can be connected to a driver output is 32.
7. Bridging to other equipment is achieved using the additional BNC terminals located next to
each video input. If an input is bridged, the termination link should be removed.
8. All unused video inputs must be terminated using the links provided.

3.3 SETTING UP THE SYSTEM
Each ZVM-328 matrix must be individually set-up in order to define its position within the overall
system (see Section System Expansion on page 5).
1. Ensure ZVM-328 matrix is powered OFF.
2. Remove link at the back of the matrix. (see Mechanical Specification on page 22).
3. Power matrix with 12Vdc and view monitor output 1. Instructions will appear on the display (see
below).
4. To move the bar highlighter down one position, insert the link, pause momentarily, and then
remove the link.
5. When the bar highlighter is pointing to the correct configuration for the current matrix, re-fit the link
and power the ZVM-328 OFF.
6. Repeat for each matrix.
When each matrix has been configured in the above manner, power Slave matrices ON followed by
the Master.

4. CONFIGURATION
The ZVM-328 should now be configured, by logging on from a ZVK series keyboard.
4.1 KEY TABLES
•Using the ZVK-002
The following ZVK-002 keys are used to configure the matrix.
ENT Proceed to the selected option. Also used to accept parameters and to
toggle through available options.
MONITOR Used to navigate through the menus and to delete characters whilst
editing text captions.
For further information regarding the ZVK-002 keyboard please refer to the ZVK-002 user
manual. Order Code: MAN-002
•Using the ZVK-007
The following ZVK-002 keys are used to configure the matrix.
ENT Proceed to the selected option. Also used to accept parameters and to
toggle through available options.
DEL Used to navigate through the menus and to delete characters whilst
editing text captions.
For further information regarding the ZVK-007 keyboard please refer to the ZVK-007 user
manual. Order Code: MAN-007
4.2 OSD MENU SYSTEM
Configuration is divided into four sections within the Main Menu of the On Screen Display. To
navigate through the menu options press the MONITOR key (ZVK-002) or the DEL key (ZVK-007).
The highlighted option can then be accessed, by pressing ENT.

4.3 SETUP MATRIX
The SETUP MATRIX menu is used to configure all features specific to Camera’s, Monitor’s, Alarm’s
and Sequencing.
4.3.1 CAMERA OPTIONS
The CAMERA OPTIONS MENU allows the user to configure all options on a camera by camera
basis.

To view the current settings for a camera enter the camera number in the camera field. All other
fields on the page will then be updated with the current operating values.
Editable Fields are:
Camera [ ] Enter a camera number between 01 and 32. 0 = Global
Video [ ] Toggle between Video PRESENT and ABSENT. This should be used when
video loss is being detected to discount unused video inputs. Telemetry is
also affected by this field.
Camera Text Allows the user to enter a caption for the current camera of up to 24
characters in length.
Text Position Toggle camera caption text position TOP, BOTtom or OFF. This option is
applied to both camera and monitor captions as well as time and date text.
Time / Date [ ] Toggle time and date display TIME, DATE, BOTH or OFF.
Head Type [ ] This option defines the RS-422 telemetry protocol output. Options available
are:
DomeVu Must be selected when driving Meyertech telemetry
receivers DVR-xxx.
ZoneVu Must be selected when driving Meyertech telemetry
receivers ZVR-xxx over RS-422 .
ZV + VICTA Must be selected when driving Meyertech telemetry
receivers ZVR-xxx over coaxial cable
