OPENING THE AIR MACHINE
1. Remove the two Medco Plug locks from the machine with the keys provided.
Rotate the lock counter clockwise until you hear a click, pull the locks completely
out.
2. Use the 5/16 black allen wrench provided for you to loosen e bolts where the
locks were, turning bolts counter clockwise. When the bolts are loose open the
door.

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRICAL SHOCK, OR INJURY
1. Only the recommended manufactures attachments should be used on the air
machine.
2. Do not handle the air machine with wet hands.
3. Use the air machine only as described in the manual.
4. Do not put any objects into the opening of the air machine.
5. Do not use the air machine in areas where flammable liquids may be present.
WARNING: AIR COMPRESSORS
1. Over inflation may be dangerous. Please consult your vehicle owner's manual
for proper inflation.
DANGER: THIS AIR MACHINE CONTAINS EQUIPMENT THAT TENDS TO
PRODUCE ARCS AND SPARKS THAT CAN CAUSE AN EXPLOSION.
This air machine must be located 18 inches above grade and at least 25 feet or
more from a dispenser.
This air machine operates on 110 volt as single phase, three wire electrical power.
This air machine must be connected to a grounded metal, permanent wiring
system or an equipment grounding conductor must be run with the circuit
conductors and connected to the equipment grounding terminal or lead on the
unit.
All servicing other than basic maintenance should be performed by qualified
Service’people.

INTRODUCTION
American Products Inc. Air dispensing machines are manufactured in a variety of
configurations to meet diverse customer needs. This manual has been prepared to aid
service personal in installing, diagnosing and repairing American Products Inc.
equipment.
In general they are supplied in seven models
1. K14-A Self-contained unit (supplied with a compressor ¾ h.p.)
2. K14-9 Remote unit (operates off a remote compressor already installed)
3. K14-AW Same as K14-A models but equipped with a water application.
4. K14-9 AW Same as K14-9 Remote unit is equipped with water application.
The cabinets for the models listed above are made out of 10 and 14 gauge regular steel
and are painted with high quality powder coat paint or are made out of a polished
stainless steel.
Model number will identify units through the rest of the manual.
Each of the basic models comes with a variety of optional features
1. Models can be set up for free operation or coin operation.
2. Cut resistant hose.
3. Permanent stand.
4. Single reel assembles made of stainless steel or regular steel with stainless steel front.
5. Dual reel assembles made of stainless steel or regular steel with stainless steel front.
6. Multi pulse timer for multi coin use.
7. JB 7 Lock Box for coin box security.

Our technical support staff is available at 1-800-542-3336 during normal business hours
to answer any questions regarding machine operations, components, or spare parts.
When calling for technical support it is extremely helpful to have the serial number and
machine model number readily available.

SERVICE AND WARRANTY
WARRANTY STARTS FROM DATE OF INVOICING
1) Air Compressors are warranted from defects in materials and
workmanship for 1 ½ year.
2) Multi coin timers are warranted from defects in materials
and workmanship for one year.
3) All other parts of the unit are warranted for 30 days.
4) Warranty covers parts and materials only, warranty does not include
Labor, freight costs of any kind.
5) If unit or parts are returned to the factory at the customers expense,
there will be no charge for labor.
6) Vandalism or misuse of equipment, or tampering is not covered under
warranty.
7) No returns or charges will be accepted without a prior R.G.A.
(returned goods authorization)

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
K14-A
A. Equipped with the following:

K14-9
A. Has the same features as the K14-A, but has no compressor. The K14-9 model
has 110 volt solenoid valve for use with a compressor already installed at the location.
B. Comes equipped with a regulator valve. The recommended setting for the regulator
valve connected to the solenoid valve is 60 psi. This valve has been preset for your
convenience.
NOTE: If units are equipped with water they will have an additional 25 foot hose with a
water faucet and 110 volt solenoid valve for water operation. K14-9AW unit will
have two solenoid valves.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
K14-750 Model Elctrical Requirements are:
A. 110 Volts AC Current

K14-9 Remote Air Model Electrical Requirements are:

The use of the recommended wire size is required for proper operation of all models. See
the wire size guide below.

MACHINE IDENTIFICATION & SERIAL NUMBER
The Model Number and Serial Number appear on inside the machine label, bearing the
Air King of America, Inc. name.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
To operate K14-A coin models follow these instructions:
A. Insert correct amont of coin or coins into money slot on left hand side of the
machine. The machine will then start.
B. Take hoses off of hose hanger or out of reel assembly place end of host on
valve stem of tire. You will have to hold the end of the hose on to the valve
stem.
C. Depress handle on air gauge and begin to fill tire. To check air pressure in the
tire leave hose end on valve stem and let up on handle of gauge. The gauge
will pop out showing the air pressure in the tire.
To operate K14-A free models follow these instructions:
A. Depress button once on the machine and it is ready for use. Repeat steps A &
B as you did for the coin operated model.
To operate K14-9 Remote air coin models follow these instructions:
A. Insert correct amount of coin or coins into money slot on left-hand side of
machine and machine is ready for use. Repeat steps A & B as you did for
K14-A models.
To operate K14-9 Remote air free models follow these instructions:
A. Depres button once on machine and machine is ready for use. Repeat steps
A & B as you did for the K14-A models.
For maximum protection from electrical shock test the unit at least once a month.

BASIC MAINTENANCE
This part of the manual is designed to help with some basic maintenance tips for your Air
King air machine. The machine is basically maintenance free but there are a few things
you should do to keep it this way.
1. Clean the felt filters in the compresor at least every six months. In an
environment where it is quite dirty you may want to clean them more often.
Note: This is only on air machines equipped with compressors.
2. Check the machine for loose wires connections and loose bolts once every two
months. You may want to check this more often if your machine gets a lot of
heavy use.
3. Lubricate Plug locks at least once every two months. Refer to the parts
identification pages in the manual to locate these parts on your machine.
4. Make sure the coin box in your air machine is either bolted or padlocked to
the coin box sleeve on the door of your air machine. If this is not done the coin
box could vibrate out and could cause damage to your compressor.
5. To keep your air machine loking like new you should wax it with car wax
once a year. This is on powder painted units. On stainless steel units you can
use a stainless steel cleaner.

AIR MACHINE TIMERS
Air King of America, Inc. air machines models K4-A, K14-9 and K14-AW may be
equipped with two different types of timers.
