Digital Print Order Format (DPOF)

You can set the print type, date imprinting, and file number imprinting.

The print settings will be applied to all print-ordered images. (They

cannot be set individually for each image.)

Setting the Printing Options

Select [Print order].

_ Under the [[_]1] tab, select [Print

order], then press <8>.

_Select [Set up].

_ Select [Set up], then press <_>.

[Print type]

No.].

_ Select the option to be set, then press

<__>. Select the desired setting,

then press <8>.

_ Press the <MENU>button.

_ Next, select [SeMmage], [Bylk], or

rAil Jrnage] to order the images to be

printed.

#> Even if [Date] and [File No.] are set to [On], the date or file number may

not be imprinted depending on the print type setting and printer model.

With [Index] prints, both the [Date] and [File No.] cannot be set to [On]

at the same time

When printing with DPOF, you must use the card whose print order

specifications have been set. It will not work if you just extract images

from the card and try to print them.

Certain DPOF-com_oatible printers and photofinishers may not be able to

print the images as you specified, if this happens with your printer, refer

to the printer's instruction manual. Qr check with your photofinisher

about compatibility when ordering prints.

Do not inser[ into the camera a card whose print order was set by a

different camera and then try to specify a print order. The print order may

not work or may be overwritten. Also. depending on the image type, the

print order may not be possible.

] RAW images and movies cannot be print ordered. You can print RAW

images with PictBndge (p.296).

Totalimages selected

Select and order images one by one.

If you press the <O, > button and turn the

<_> dial counterclockwise, you can

select an image from a three-image

display. To return to the single-image

display, turn the <_> dial clockwise.

Press the <MENU>button to save the

print order to the card.

[Standard] [Both]

Press <8> and a print order for one

copy of the displayed image will be

placed. By turning the <O> dial, you

can set the quantity up to 99.

[Index]

Press <__> to include images with a

checkmark <,l> in the index print.

_ Bym

Select [Mark all in folder] and select the folder. A print order for one

copy of all the images in the folder will be placed. If you select [Clear

all in folder] and select the folder, the print order for that folder will

all be canceled.

®_All image

If you select [Mark all on card], one copy of all the images on the

card will be set for printing. If you select [Clear all on card], the print

order will be cleared for all the images on the card.

_1 ® Note that RAW images and movies will not be included in the print order

even if you set !!Byl/i! or f'AII image.':

® When using a PictBridge printer, print no more !hart 400 images for one print

order. !f you specify more than this, allthe images may not be printed,

With a PictBridge printer, you can easily

print images with DPOF.

_Prepare to print.

_ See page 296. Follow the "Connecting the Camera to a Printer"

procedure up to step 5.

_Under the [i-_1] tab, select [Print order].

_Select [Print].

_ [Print] will be displayed only if the camera is connected to a

printer and printing is possible.

4Set the [Paper settings] (p.298).

_o Set the printing effects (p.300) if necessary.

,,!_Select [OK].

_l_ _ Before printing, be sure to set the paper size.

Certain printers cannot imprint the file number.

If [Bordered] is set, certain printers may imprint the date on the border.

Depending on the printer, the date may appear faint if it is imprinted on a

bright background or on the border

L_ _ Under [Adjust leveJs], [Manual] cannot be selected.

¢_ If you stopped the printing and want to resume printing the remaining

images, select [Resume]. Note that printing will not resume if you slop

the printing and any of the following occurs:

*Before resuming the printing, you changed the print order or deleted

print-ordered images.

* When you set the index, you changed the paper setting before

resuming the printing.

*When you paused the printing, the card's remaining capacity was low.

[-_ Transferring images to a Personal Computer _

You can connect the camera to a personal computer and operate the

camera to transfer images on the card to the personal computer. This is

called direct image transfer.

The direct image transfer can be performed with the camera while

you look at the LCD monitor.

The images transferred to the personal computer will be saved in the

[Pictures] or [My Pictures] folder and organized in folders by shooting

date.

Before connecting the camera to the personal computer, be

sure to install the provided software (EOS DiGiTAL Solution

Disk on CD-ROM) on the personal computer.

For the procedure to install the provided software, see page 395.

Preparation for image Transfer

Set the camera's powerswitch to

<OFF>.

Connect the camera to a personal

computer.

_ Use the interface cable provided with

the camera.

®_Connect the cable to the camera's

<DIGITAL> terminal with the cable

plug's <-_7> icon facing the front of

the camera.

_ Connect the cord's plug to the

personal computer's USB terminal.

Set the camera's power switch to

<ON>.

_'_ When the personal computer displays

a screen to select the program, select

[EOS Utility].

_s, The EOS Utility screen will appear on

the personaU computer.

After the EOS Utility screen appears, do not operate EOS Utility. If any

screen other than EOS Utility's top screen is displayed, [Direct transfer] in

step 5 on page 312 will not be displayed. (The image transfer function will

not be available.)

Instruction Manual (CD-ROM, p.396L

Before disconnecting the sable, turn off the camera. Hold the plug (not

Lhecord) to pull out the cable.

Transferring RAW÷JPEG Images

For RAW+JPEG images, you can specify

which image to transfer. On the next

page in step 2, select [RAW+JPEG

transfer], and select the image to be

transferred: [JPEG only], [RAW only], or

[RAW+JPEG].

® On the computer screen, check that

EOS Utility's top screen is displayed.

® Select[Direct transfer], thenpress<8>.

® On the confirmation screen, select

[OK] and the images will be

transferred to the personal computer.

® Images selectedwith [Sel. IIm] and [AH

image] can also betransferred inthis way.

Select [Sel. mm] and select [Folder images net transfer'd]. When

you select a folder, all the images in that folder not yet transferred to

the personal computer will be selected.

Selecting [Folder images failed transl.] will select the selected

folder's images that failed to transfer.

Selecting [Clear folder transl, history] will clear the transfer history

of the images in the selected folder. After clearing the transfer

history, you can select [Folder images net transfer'd] and again

transfer all the images in the folder.

® AH image

If [AH image] is selected and you select [Card images net

transferred], all the images on the card not yet transferred to a

personal computer will be selected.

For a description of [Card images failed transfer] and [Clear

card's transf, history], see "SeL Ik, above.

Customizing the

Camera

You can customize various camera features to suit your

picture-taking preferences with Custom Functions.

Also, the current camera settings can be saved under

the Mode Dial's <_]>, <Jill>, and <r_> positions.

The features explained in this chapter can be set and

used in the following shooting modes: PITy/AM/M/
