With Image Transfer Utility 2, images can be sent to a computer connected via Wi-Fi.
Image Transfer Utility 2 is an application that supports cameras with the "Auto send images to
computer" function. The latest version of Image Transfer Utility 2 can be downloaded from the Canon
Web site.

There are white circles in captured images

Solution
When using a flash for shooting in snowy outdoors, or environments where there are many floating
particles and fluffy dust in the air, white circles may appear in captured images.
The light emitted from the flash reflects on the dust and particles in the air that are in front of the
subject, and that light gets captured by the camera, which results in white circles in images.

To prevent this, it is best to capture images in environments with no floating particles, but if that is not
possible, the following measures are effective.
- Brighten the surroundings so that a flash is not required.
- For models with the zoom function, shoot at the tele-end.
- For models that can be used with Speedlite flashes, use a Speedlite flash and distance the lens from the
flash when shooting.
NOTE
When a flash is not used, the shutter speed decreases, so be careful of camera shake. Keep your
arms tight against your body while holding the camera by the sides or use a tripod.

The charging lamp turns orange while the battery pack is charging. When charging is finished, the lamp
turns green.
IMPORTANT
To protect the battery pack and keep it in optimal condition, do not charge it continuously for
more than 24 hours.
Use of genuine Canon accessories is recommended. This product is designed to achieve
excellent performance when used with genuine Canon accessories. Canon shall not be liable for
any damage to this product and/or accidents such as fire, etc., caused by the malfunction of
non-genuine Canon accessories (e.g., a leakage and / or explosion of a battery pack). Please note
that any repairs your Canon product may require as a result of such malfunction are not covered
under warranty and will incur a fee.
NOTE
Charged battery packs gradually lose their charge, even when they are not used. Charge the
battery pack on (or immediately before) the day of use.
The charger can be used in areas with 100 –240 V AC power (50/60 Hz). For power outlets in a
different format, use a commercially available adapter for the plug. Never use an electrical
transformer designed for traveling, which may damage the battery pack.
Can I use the AC power adapter and battery charger
overseas?

This digital camera can be used overseas. Please refer to the following things when you plan to use it
overseas.
The dedicated AC adapter kit and the battery charger are compatible with AC100 to 240V, 50/60Hz
power supplies.
You need to use a power adapter when you plug in your camera or the battery charger in areas using
different types of power outlets. (There might be cases where the power outlet types differ within a
country depending on the area.) For information about power adapters, consult with a local travel
agency or home appliance shops.

Stabilizing the camera during tripod shooting

Solution
Please be aware of the following information when using a tripod.
1. To increase stability, make sure to distance individual tripod legs apart from each other as much as
possible.
2. Start extending the legs in order from the wider to narrower ends. If it is not necessary to fully extend
the legs, please use only the wider ends to improve stability as shown in example ( ). Using the
narrower ends as shown in example ( ) is not recommended.
3. When shooting on level surfaces, make sure to extend all three legs equally. When shooting on an
incline, adjust the legs to ensure that the camera platform is level.
4. To lessen the possibility of inadvertently moving or kicking the tripod, position one tripod leg in the
same direction as the front of the lens (indicated by the arrow in the example image below). Next,
position the remaining two legs so that you can stand between them while shooting.
5. The pole attached to the camera platform is designed for making minor adjustments to the height of
the camera after the general position has been determined by extending the legs. If the pole is extended
to far ( ) the camera may become unstable. Please set up your tripod as shown in example image ( )
to improve stability.
NOTE
When using a tripod, shooting with [Image Stabilizer] set to [Disable] may improve the quality of
captured images for camera models equipped with this feature.
