Post-Processing

images

After shooting images, you can apply Creative filters or

resize the image (downsize the pixel count). You can

also process RAW images with the camera.

_ It may not be possible te process images Shot with a camera

other than the Eos 60D_

(_ Creative Filters

You can apply the following Creative filters to an image and save it as a

new image: Grainy B/W, Soft focus, Toy camera effect, and Miniature

effect. Creative filters cannot be applied to M _ and S_ images.

Select [Creative filters].

_ Select the [3" Creative filters] menu

option, then press <__>.

},, Images will be displayed.

_Select an image.

_ Select the image you want to apply a

filter to.

_ By pressing the <E;_.Q,> button, you

can switch to the index display and

select an image.

_Select afilter.

_ When you press <__>, the filters will

be displayed.

_ Press the < _- > key to select a filter,

then press <__>.

_. The image applied with the respective

filter will be displayed.

_, Adjust the filter effect.

_ Press the <_- > key to adjust the

filter effect, then press <__>. For the

miniature effect, press the <AT > key

and select the image area (within the

white frame) where you want it to look

sharp. Then press <__>.

Creative Filter Features

_ & Grainy B_A/

Makes the image grainy and black and white. By adjusting the

contrast, you can change the black-and-white effect.

_ I Soft focus

Gives the image a soft look. By adjusting the blur, you can change

the degree of softness.

® _ Toy camera effect

Gives a color cast typical of toy cameras and darkens the image's

fours corners. By adjusting the color tone, you can change the color

cast.

® _, Miniature effect

Creates a diorama effect. In step 4, you can press the <INFO.>

button to change the orientation (vertical/horizontal) of the white

frame that shows where you want the image to look sharp.

_-_ Resize

You can resize an image to make the pixel count lower and save it as a

new image. Resizing an image is possible only with JPEG L/M/S1/S2

images. JPEG $3 and RAW images cannot be resized.

Target sizes

1Select [Resize].

® Select the [,-"1"Resize] menu option,

then press <__>.

2Select an image.

® Select the image you want to resize.

® By pressing the <E;_._> button, you

can switch to the index display and

select an image.

3Select the desired image size.

® Press <__> to display the image

sizes.

® Press the <41_ > key to select the

desired image size, then press <__>.

_Save the image.

® Select [OK] to save the image.

® Note the destination folder and image

file number, then select [OK].

® To resize another image, repeat steps

2 to 4.

® To exit and return to the menu, press

the <MENU>button.

Aboutimagesizes

The [8.0M 3456x2304] image size displayed in step 3 has a 3:2 aspect

ratio. The image size according to aspect ratios is shown in the table

below. For asterisked image-recording quality, the pixel count does not

exactly match the aspect ratio. The image will be slightly cropped.

RAW/Processing RAW images with the Camera _ _

JPEG+

You can process _ images with the camera and save them as JPEG

images. While the RAW image itself does not change, you can process

the RAW image according to different conditions to create any number

of JPEG images from it.

Note that M _ and S _ images cannot be processed with the

camera. Use Digital Photo Professional (provided software) to process

those images.

Select [RAW image processing].

_ Select the [.--=1"RAW image

processing] menu option, then press

ty,, _ images will be displayed.

Select an image.

_ Select the image you want to

process.

_ By pressing the <_;_._> button, you

can switch to the index display and

select an image.

Process the image.

_ Press <__> and soon the RAW-

processing options will appear

(p.226, 227).

_ Press the <AT> <_> keyto select

an option, and turn the <O> dial to

change the setting.

_y,,The displayed image will reflect

"Brightness," "White balance," and

the others settings adjustment.

_ To return to the image settings at the

time of shooting, press the <mNFO.>

button.

Displaying the setting screen

® Press <_> to display the setting

screen. Turn the <_> or <G> dial

to change the setting. To return to the

screen in step 3, press <_>.

S_,, Save the image.

® Select [_] (Save), then press <__>.

® Select [OK] to save the image.

® Note the destination folder and image

file number, then press [OK].

The screen in step 2 will reappear.

® To process another image, repeat

steps 2 to 4.

® To exit and return to the menu, press

the <MENU>button.

About the Magnified Display

Pressing the <(_.> button in step 3 will magnify the image. The

magnification will differ depending on the pixel count of [Quality] set in

[RAW image processing]. With <,:::_>, you can scroll around the

magnified image. When [! Magnify] is grayed out during the image

processing, the image cannot be magnified.

While the image is magnified, pressing the <[].¢.> button will exit the

magnified view.

images with Aspect Ratio Setting

Images shot in a Live View shooting aspect ratio ([4:3] [16:9] [1:1]) will

be displayed in the respective aspect ratio. JPEG images will also be

saved in the set aspect ratio.

You can adjust the image brightness up to _+1stop in 1/3-stop

increments. The displayed image will reflect the setting's effect.

®__ White balance (p.96)

You can select the white balance. If you select [_], use the <_>

dial to set the color temperature. The displayed image will reflect the

setting's effect.

_ _ Picture Style (p.90)

You can select the Picture Style. To set the parameters such as

Sharpness, press <__> to display the setting screen. Turn the <0>

dial to select a parameter, then turn the <_> dial to set it as

desired. Press <__> to finalize the setting and to return to the

setting screen. The displayed image will reflect the setting's effect.

_ _-j_Auto Lighting Optimizer (p.101)

You can set the Auto Lighting Optimizer. The displayed image will

reflect the setting's effect.

®_NR_High ISO speed noise reduction (p.254)

You can set the noise reduction for high ISO speeds. The displayed

image will reflect the setting's effect. If the effect is difficult to discern,

press the <(_> button to magnify the image. (Press the <[].¢, >

button to return to the normal view.)

To check the effect of the [Strong] setting, magnify the image.

Viewing it as asingle image will only display the [Standard] effect

even if [Strong] was set.

_ 4L Image-recording quality (p.84)

You can set the pixel count and image quality of the JPEG image to

be saved when converting the RAW image. The image size

displayed, such as [8.0M 3456x2304], has a 3:2 aspect ratio. The

pixel count of each aspect ratio is indicated on page 223.

_sRGBColorspace (p.110)

You can select either sRGB or Adobe RGB. Since the camera's LCD

monitor is not compatible with Adobe RGB, the image will not look

very different when either color space is set.

®_ _OFFPeripheral illumination correction (p.102)

You can set [Enable] or [Disable]. If [Enable] is set, the corrected

image will be displayed. If the effect is difficult to discern, press the

<(_> button to magnify the image and look at the image corners.

(Press the < [].(3, > button to return to the normal view.)

®_:_:0F_Distortion correction

When [Enable] is set, image distortion caused by the lens is

corrected. If [Enable] is set, the distortion-corrected image will be

displayed. The correction will have the image periphery to be

cropped. Therefore, the image will look slightly larger (It is not a

magnified image). With Digital Photo Professional (provided

software), you can correct the image distortion while minimizing the

trimming of the image periphery.

Since the image resolution may look slightly lower, use the Picture

Style's Sharpness setting to make adjustments as necessary.
