1. Install the machine in the location where it

will be used.

2. Remove all the packing material.

Installing the Optional

Product

If you are not using optional product,

proceed to step .

Before Installing the Optional Product

When installing the optional product after the machine

has been installed, perform the following before starting

work:

1. Shut down the machine and your computer.

2. Unplug the machine from the mains power outlet.

3. Disconnect all cords and cables from the machine.

Paper Feeder/Cassette Pedestal

1. Install the paper feeder in the location

where it will be used.

• You can stack up to three paper feeders.

When Using the Cassette Pedestal

1. Install the cassette pedestal in the location

where it will be used.

Lock the four casters.

• You can stack up to two paper feeders and the

cassette pedestal with the machine.

Connecting the Power Cord

Specifying the Basic

Settings

When you turn on the machine for the first time, the

Setup Guide starts up on the operation panel. Perform

the initial machine setup by following the on-screen

instructions.

Operation panel

1. Select the language.

2. Select the country/region.

3. Select the time zone.

4. Set the current date/time.

Specifying the Security

Settings

Set an Administrator password to increase machine

security.

1. Check the message and press .

2. Select <Yes>.

To continue without setting a password, select

<No> and proceed to "Specifying the Network

Settings".

3. Enter a password and select <Apply>.

Enter the same password again and select <Apply>.

4. Check the message and press .

Specifying the Network

Settings

Specify the settings for connecting the machine to a

network. Before proceeding, check that the computer and

router are correctly connected to the network.

Wired LAN

1. Select <Wired LAN>.

2. Connect the LAN cable.

Wait a few minutes while the machine's IP address

is automatically set.

Wireless LAN

The example described in this document is for the <SSID

Settings>. See the User's Guide for information on other

configuration procedures.

1. Check the router's "SSID" and "Network

key".

SSID : XXXXXXXXXXXX

Network key : XXXXXXXXXXXX

2. Select <Wireless LAN>.

3. Check the message and press .

4. Select <SSID Settings>.

5. Select <Select Access Point>.

6. Select the router with the matching SSID.

If the <Apply settings of IEEE 802.1X Settings to the

connection?> message appears, select <Yes> and

proceed to step 8below.

7. Enter the network key you checked above

and select <Apply>.

8. Select <Yes>.

Once a connection is established, the home screen

appears.

Install the software and drivers from the CD/DVD-ROM

included, or visit the URL below and download them from

the Canon website for your country/region.

Installation du produit en

option

Si vous n'utilisez pas le produit en option,

passez à l'étape .

Avant d'installer le produit optionnel

Avant de raccorder l'équipement en option sur l'appareil

que vous avez installé, n'oubliez pas de:

1. Éteignez l'appareil et l'ordinateur.

2. débrancher l'appareil de la prise secteur.

3. Débranchez tous les cordons et les câbles de

l'appareil.

Chargeur de papier/socle de cassette

1. Installez le chargeur de papier là où il sera

utilisé.

• Vous pouvez empiler jusqu'à trois chargeurs de

papier.

Lors de l’utilisation du socle à cassette

1. Installez le socle de cassette là où il sera

utilisé.

Bloquez les quatre

roulettes.
