1.1 Checking components
1.1.1 Unpacking and Check of Included Items
imagePASS-S1 / Netowrk Printer Unit-S1 is written as the Unit.
Unpack the shipping box, and check to make sure that none of the following is missing:
[1] Unit 1pc
[2] Power cable (for power outlet) 1pc
[3] Media Pack 1pc
[4] Cross Ethernet cable 1pc
[5] Communication cable 1pc
[6] Open I/F PCB 1pc
[7] Expansion bus-D1 1pc
[8] Screw (Bind; M3X6) 2pc

1.2 Installation procedure
1.2.1 Reset Printer
If UFR II/PS/PCL is used, run "Reset Printer" in user
made for initialization.
Additional Function > Printer Settings > Utility > Re-
set Printer > Yes
1.2.2 Before Making Con-
nections
- Be sure that the back of the machine is at least 20cm
away from any wall as shown.
1.2.3 Mount Open I/F

1. Turning Off the Host Machine
Turning Off the Main Power of the host machine.
When turning off the main power, be sure to go
through the following sequence to protect the ma-
chine's hard disk:
1) Hold down the power switch on the control panel
for 3 sec or more.
2) Operate the touch panel according to the shut down
sequence indicated so that the main power switch
may be turned off.
3) Turn off the main power switch.
4) Disconnect the power cable (for the power outlet).
2. Mount open I/F PCB
1) Detach the main controller cover [1].
- Screw [2] X 10pcs
2) Check whether VOICE GUIDANCE-A2 on SE-
CURITY EXBOARD-F1 is installed.
If yes, go to step5. Otherwise, go to Step3.
3) Detach the rear cover [1].
- Reader power cable [2] X 1pc
- Screw [3] X 8pcs
4) Mount the Expansion Bus [1].
- Screw (Bind; M3X6) X 2pcs
Be sure to mount the Expansion Bus[1] with holding
the metal frame of Expansion Bus.

5) Remove the 2 screws [2], and detach the face plate
[1].
6) Connect the Open I/F PCB [1] to the connector[2]
of the PCI Expansion Kit-D1 using the 2 screws [2]
removed in step 5). 7) Mount the removed parts.
8) Plug the power cable of host machine into the wall
outlet.
1.2.4 Open I/F PCB setup
1) Turning ON the Main Power
2) Set '4':COPIER>OPTION>INT-FACE>IMG-
CONT in Service Mode. (This way, the appropriate
IP address will automatically be set up for commu-
nication between the Unit and its host machine.)
1.2.5 Connect the unit
and the host machine
1) Connect one end of the Cross Ethernet cable[1] to

the lower RJ-45 port on the Unit back panel.
Connect one end of the Communication cable[2] to
the copier interface board connector on the Unit back
panel.
2) Connect the other side of the cross Ethernet cable
[3] which is connected to the Unit in the procedure 1)
to the RJ45 connector[4] of the connected host ma-
chine.
Connect the other side of the Communication cable[1]
to the Open I/F PCB connector[2].
3) Turn the connected host machine ON.
4) Connect the power cable [1] to the Unit.
5) Turn the Unit [1] ON.
1.2.6 To print a configura-
tion page
Print out a settings page as follows to make sure that
all settings have correctly been made on the Unit and
its host machine and that all connections are normal:

1) Ensure that the host machine is on and warmed
up.
2) Ensure that the Unit is on.
3) At the Idle screen, press the Menu button once.
4) Press the line selection button to the right of Print
Pages, and then select Configuration page.
The Unit sends the Configuration page to the host
machine and displays the RIP and Print status
screens so you can monitor the job.
1.2.7 Network connection
Network connection is the network administrator's re-
sponsibility to configure Setup according to the net-
work and user environment.
1)Shut down the Unit before connecting it to any net-
work device.
If the system has just finished processing, wait 10 sec-
onds after the system reaches the idle status before

powering off the unit.
2)Connect the network cable to the network port (up-
per RJ-45)[1] on the back of the Unit.
Note:
The customer's Ethernet network cable and the Cross
Ethernet cable included with the Unit look similar but
are not interchangeable. Do not swap these cables.
Make sure you attach cables to the correct ports on the
Unit back panel.
3) Power on the Unit.
4) Advise the network administrator to configure Set-
up options.
The network administrator is responsible to configure
Setup according to the network and user environment.
For Setup information, refer the network administra-
tor to Configuration and Setup on the User Documen-
tation CD.
5) After Setup options have been configured, verify
the network connection.
The network administrator should perform any addi-
tional network setup, verify the network connection,
verify that the Unit appears in the list of printers, and
print a few test documents from a networked comput-
er that will use the Unit. (For more information, see
Configuration and Setup on the User Documentation
CD.)

1.1 同梱部品の確認
1.1.1 同梱品の確認
本機を複写機に取り付ける際は、この手順に従ってください。
以下、PS プリントサーバ PS-S1 を「プリントサーバ」と表記する。
本機の梱包箱を開梱し、下図に示す部品が入っていることを確認する。

[6] 複写機インターフェースケーブル1本

1.2 設置手順
1.2.1 プリンタ設定の初
期化（複写機がすでに
使用されている場合）
複写機がすでに使用されている場合は、ユー
ザーモードでプリンタ仕様設定＞仕様設定＞プ
リンタ設定初期化を「はい」にして設定を初期
化する。
ただし、複写機とプリントサーバを同時に新規
設置する場合は必要ない。
1.2.2 接続前の準備
下図のように本機を設置するスペースを確保す
る。
本機の背面と側面から 20cm 以上のスペースが
必要である。

1. 本体の電源OFF
主電源の切り方
主電源を切る際は、本製品のハードディスクを
保護するため以下の手順に従い行うこと。
1. 操作部電源スイッチを 3秒以上押す。
2. シャットダウンシーケンスの画面表示に従い
タッチパネルを操作し、主電源スイッチをOFF
できる状態にする。
3. 主電源スイッチを OFF する。
4. 電源ケーブル（コンセント用）を抜く。
2. 設置手順
1) メインコントローラカバー [1] を外す。
・ビス [2] 10 本
2) ロックレバー [1] を押し、BOOT ROM[2] を外
す。
3) PS プリントサーバ PS-S1 に同梱されている
ブート ROM を取り付ける [1]。

ボード・F1 が装着されているかを確認する。
もし装着されていれば、PCI バス拡張キットは装
着済みなので、手順 6) に進む。そうでない場合
は、手順 4) に進む。
4) 後カバー [1] を外す。
・リーダ電源ケーブル [2] 1 本
・ワイヤサドル [3] 1 個
・ビス [4] 8 本
5) PCI バス拡張キット [1] を取付ける。
・ビス (バインド；M3X6) [2] 2 本
作業中は、PCI バス拡張キットのフレーム部分を
持って作業すること。
6) ビス［2］2本を外し、目隠し板［1］を取り外す。
7) 複写機インターフェースボード [1] をPCI バス
拡張キット下側コネクタ [2] に接続する。

8) 複写機インターフェースボードをビス２本 [1]
で固定する。
9) メインコントローラボックスカバーを取付け
る。
10) 本体の電源ケーブル (コンセント用 )を接続
する。
1.2.4 複写機インター
フェース設定変更
1. 複写機の電源を ON する。
2. サービスモードで COPIER> OPTION> INT-
FACE> IMG-CONT を 「4」にする。
1.2.5 複写機への接続
1) PS プリントサーバ PS-S1 の背面にある、下側
RJ45 コネクタに複写機と接続するコマンドス
テータスクロスケーブルを接続する。
複写機インターフェースボードコネクタに複写
機インターフェースケーブルを接続する。
2) 複写機インターフェースケーブル[1]のもう片
方の端を複写機インターフェースボードコネク
タに接続する [2]。
コマンドステータスクロスケーブル[3] を複写機
背面右側の RJ45 コネクタ [4] に接続する。
3) 複写機の電源を ON する。
4) PS プリントサーバ PS-S1 に電源ケーブルを接
続する。
5) PS プリントサーバ PS-S1 の電源スイッチを
ON する [1]。
