OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
A) PELICAN QUADVAC (MODEL HBQ1224)
1) Connect one end of the vacuum hose to the
vacuum hose adaptor on the machine and
the other end of the vacuum hose to the
extraction wand.
2) Connect one end of the solution hose to the
female quick disconnect on the machine and
the other end of the solution hose to the
quick disconnect on the wand. Pull the
sleeve on the coupler and insert the male
quick disconnect plug on the hose. The
sleeve should "CLICK" and retract back
indicating a positive seal.
3) Fill solution tank with hot tap water (not to
exceed 140°F (64° C)) and add
recommended amount of cleaning
detergent. Follow directions on the bottle
label for best results.
4) Add recommended amount of DEFOAMER
into the recovery tank.
5) Plug the machine into two, independent and
dedicated 120 VOLT, 15 AMP circuits.
6) Turn on all the GREEN SWITCHES on the
upper part of the machine (PUMP,
VACUUM 1 and VACUUM 2 (primary
vacuum motors)).
7) Turn on all the two GREEN SWITCHES on
the lower part of the machine (VACUUM 3
and VACUUM 4 (secondary vacuum
motors)).
8) Place the wand at a comfortable position in
front of you. Squeeze the solution lever and
pull the wand towards you. Apply a slight
downward pressure on the wand grip to
maximize extraction. Overlap your next pass
to prevent streaks. Make an additional pass
on the area previously cleaned without
applying solution to speed up drying. The
use of an AIR MOVER will also speed up
the drying process.
9) When the width of the spray pattern starts
getting smaller, the solution tank needs to
be refilled. Turn off all GREEN SWITCHES.
Empty the recovered dirty solution (pull T-
handle up) into a bucket. Make sure to close
the valve after draining the recovery tank.
10) WHEN THE JOB IS COMPLETED vacuum
out remaining cleaning solution into the
recovery tank. Empty the recovered dirty
solution (pull T-handle up) into a bucket.
Make sure to close the valve after draining
the recovery tank.
B) PELICAN QUADVAC AUTO (MODEL HBQ1224AD)
1) Connect one end of the vacuum hose to the
vacuum hose adaptor on the machine and
the other end of the vacuum hose to the
extraction wand.
2) Connect one end of the solution hose to the
female quick disconnect on the machine and
the other end of the solution hose to the
quick disconnect on the wand. Pull the
sleeve on the coupler and insert the male
quick disconnect plug on the hose. The
sleeve should "CLICK" and retract back
indicating a positive seal.
3) Connect the 5/8” x 25 ft. RED FILL HOSE to
the water feed line on the upper left corner
on the back of the machine. Connect the
opposite end to a faucet with a garden hose
connector. Drop the weighted end of the
solution feed tube into a recommended
carpet extraction detergent. Open the
chemical metering valve on the back of the
machine by turning the knob slowly. Watch
the float rise and set chemical feed to the
chemical manufacturer’s recommended
dilution ratio. The float bottle inside the
solution tank turns on the valve to fill the
tank when it’s empty.
4) Connect the 5/8” x 25 ft. GRAY DRAIN
HOSE to the water discharge end to the
bottom coupler on the back of the machine
(next to the fan). Place the other end into a
convenient drain. Open the drain valve to
allow dirty solution to flow out. The ball float
in the recovery tank turns on the drain pump
to discharge the dirty solution from the tank
continually. Occasionally check the debris
filter bag if it’s full and empty it when
necessary. Also clean the drain screen on
the bottom of the tank, rinse out
accumulated dirt on the bottom of the tank
and empty into a convenient pall.
