Congratulations on your purchase of the CLA7v2
Amplified Powered Neckloop from ClearSounds
Communication®The CLA7v2 is designed to be
used with a variety of connectivity cords allowing
you to use it as an amplified audio neckloop with
a variety of devices including cellphones, cordless
telephones, corded telephones w/jacks, iPods,
personal listening devices, radios and other sound
generating devices.
The CLA7v2 generates an induction (loop) signal
that is picked up by the telecoil of your hearing
aid(s) (this option is activated by setting the
hearing aid(s) to the “T” or “MT” position). The
CLA7v2 with its enhanced connectivity cable
options is now compatible with most audio
producing devices. For your cellular phone (you
mayneed topurchase an adapter connectorifyour
cellular phone is not equipped with a built-in 2.5
mm jack). If your cell store does not know about
adapters, tell them that you need the 2.5mm
mono adapter that makes TTYs accessible to your
cell phone as mandated by the (ADA) Americans
with Disabilities Act. The CLA7v2 should give you
many years of successful operation.
Please read this User Manual carefully in order to
get the very best results from your CLA7v2. This
will tell you how to set up the CLA7v2 correctly
and explain all the features to you.

When using your neckloop, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to reduce
the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to person,
including the following.
WARNING: To avoid the possibility of
electrical shock, do not use this product near
water (For example, near a bathtub, wash
basin, kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet
basement or near a swimming pool) while in
the bathtub or shower or when you are wet.
WARNING: Avoid using the product during
electrical storms. There may be a remote
risk of electric shock from lightning. If an

electrical storm is present in your
immediate area, the possibility of
electrical shock still exists.
WARNING: Do not use the product if you suspect
a gas leak in the area. The product’s electrical
contacts could create a spark, which could ignite

Important Safety Instructions
for Batteries
To reduce the risk of fire or personal injury –
read and follow these instructions:
Use only the approved battery in1. your CLA7v2.
Do not dispose of the battery in a2. fire as it may explode. Check with
local codes for possible special
disposal instructions.
Do not open or mutilate the battery.3. Releasedelectrolyteiscorrosiveand
may cause damage to the eyes and
skin. It may be toxic if swallowed.
Exercise care in handling batteries4. try not to have the battery come in
contact with conducting materials
such as rings, bracelets and keys.
The battery or conduction material
may overheat and cause burns.
Observe proper polarity5. orientation.
NOTE: Please check that your telephone
equipmentisUL/ETLapprovedbeforeconnecting
the ClearSounds CLA7v2 into the headset jack.
Please refer to your owners manual or contact
the telephone manufacturer.

Installing the Batteries
IMPORTANT: The CLA7v2 needs to be
disconnected from the telephone before
installing the batteries.
Open the battery compartment door1. located on the back of your CLA7v2 by
pulling back the latch.
Insert correctly (2) AAA alkaline2. batteries (included) in the battery
compartment. Be sure to observe
battery polarity as imprinted on the
base of the compartment.
Snap the battery compartment door3. back in place.
The CLA7v2 is ready to use.4.
NOTE: The batteries will have approximately
30 to 40 hours of talk time before needing
replacement. Battery life will depend on actual
usage and amplified levels.
Low Battery Indicator
The low battery indicator monitors the condition
of the batteries. This LED indicator will turn red
to indicate the batteries should be changed.
The indicator will only turn red while in use.
Replace batteries as soon as possible with 2
AAA Alkaline batteries.

Making And Receiving Calls
Place the wire around your neck and insert1. the round connector plug into the Neckloop
Quick Disconnect plug, forming a loop.
IMPORTANT: To have the Neckloop operate
Properly, you will need to be sure the
connection is double clicked.
Depending on the type of device you are2. connecting to, select the proper connectivity
cord and connect the CLA7v2 end to the
base of the CLA7v2 unit and the other
end into the 2.5mm or 3.5mm jack on the
device you are using.
Switch your hearing aid to “T” or “MT”3. mode.
Press the “ON/OFF” button on the side of4. the CLA7v2 the LED light will turn green
indicating the neckloop is on.
Use your telephone or other device in5. the normal way (ie. making and receiving
calls). See the phone’s owner’s manual for
instruction.
Since the CLA7v2 has a built in microphone,6. you will not need to hold the phone to your
ear, but can use it in conjunction with a belt
clip. Simply keep the phone in your pocket
or place it on a stable surface.

During the call, you can adjust the volume7. of the CLA7v2 by using the volume control
knob located on the side of the unit.
You can also manually adjust the volume8. level on your phone if the sound quality is
unsatisfactory.
On completion of the call, press the ON/OFF9. button and the LED will turn off indicating
the neckloop is no longer in use.
Reset your hearing aid if needed.10. Note: If
your phone does not have a 2.5mm jack,
an adapter may be required. Check with the
manufacturer of the telephone equipment.
Note: If your phone does not have a 2.5mm

Check with the manufacturer of the tele-
phone equipment or the store where you
purchased the cell phone or other device.
USING YOUR CONNECTIVITY
CORDS
Your CLA7v2 comes with 4 connectivity cords.
That are connected to the bottom of the CLA7v2
using the Connectivity Jack as shown in the
features diagram.

Notes on the connectivity cords:
Standard mono cell phone 2.5mm jacks have
two black bands; 2.5mm jacks that are used
with stereo music have three black bands. Your
CLA7v2 comes with connectivity cords for both
2.5mm Mono and 2.5mm Stereo connectors.
If your Cell Store cannot tell you which type
of connector you have on your phone, you will
need to use the trial and error method.
If you need a 2.5mm adapter for your cell
phone, ask for the adapter that makes the cell
phone compliant with the TTY requirement of
the Americans with Disabilities Act and use the
CLA7v2’s 2.5mm Mono Connectivity Cord.
The CLA7v2 can work with cell phones that have
stereo music capabilities. Use the connectivity
cord that has the 2.5mm stereo connector on
