Model 19B70045100 electric lift kit is designed for use with Cub Cadet Z-Force models manufactured for 2014 and later. It is the

required electric lift kit for Z-Force models manufactured for 2016. Refer to your tractor’s Operator’s Manual to assure compatibility.

The following instructions were prepared for use by trained technicians who are experienced in the service and repair of Outdoor

Power Equipment. It is not intended for use by untrained or inexperienced individuals. Such individuals should seek the assistance of

an authorized service technician or Cub Cadet dealer.

Carton Contents

Before beginning installation, remove all parts from the carton to make sure everything is present. Carton contents are shown (with

part numbers) in Figure 1-1.

Preperation

WARNING: Before beginning installation, place

the tractor on a firm and level surface, set the

parking brake, place the PTO in the disengaged

(OFF) position, stop the tractor’s motor and remove

the ignition key to prevent unintended starting.

1. Crack the lug nuts loose on the rear-right wheel.

2. Using a floor jack, raise the rear-end of the machine and

secure the rear-right side of the frame with a jack stand.

Note: Do not position the jackstand under the rear bumper,

as the bumper hardware will be removed in the following

steps.

3. Place the deck lift handle in its top (fully raised) position

and insert wood blocks beneath the deck so that it is firmly

secured. Use shims, if necessary, to accurately maintain this

deck height.

4. Remove the rear right wheel.

5. Remove and discard the right-hand (deck) lift assist spring

by removing the hex screw and flat washer that secures it.

See Figure 1-2.

6. Using a flathead screwdriver, remove (and discard) the two

plastic push rivets that secure the right-hand control panel

in place. Pivot the right-hand control panel upward and out

of the slots in the pod. See Figure 1-3.

Note: Unplugging the PTO switch may ease in completing

the installation.

Installation

1. Using a ⁄inch long self-tapping screw (710-0642), cut

threads in the lower hole of the lift bracket (703-09525).

Remove the self-tapping screw before proceding to the

next step.

2. Install the lift bracket (703-09525) to the inside face of the

cross shaft bracket using one ⁄inch long self-tapping

screw (710-0642), one 1⁄-inch hex screw (710-3005),

1⁄-inch OD flat washer (736-0227) and flange lock nut

(712-04065). See Figure 1-4.

3. Remove and discard the rear hex screw and lock nut that

secures the right portion of the rear bumper. Loosen,

but do not remove, the front hex screw and lock nut that

secures the right portion of the rear bumper.

See Figure 1-5.

6. Secure the rear of the actuator between the inner- and

outer-mounting brackets with one shoulder screw (738-

0527) and flange lock nut (712-04065). See Figure 1-8.

7. Securely tighten the inner- and outer-mounting bracket

hardware installed earlier.

8. Securely tighten the front hex nut and lock nut that secures

the right portion of the rear bumper.

9. Fully thread the jam nut (712-3048) and coupling (711-

06168) onto the lift link (603-05103). See Figure 1-9.

10. Position the lift link over frame cross brace, above the wire

harness, throttle cable and choke cable (if so equipped).

Important: The lift link must be positioned above the wire

harness, throttle cable and choke cable (if so equipped).

4. Install the inner- and outer-mounting brackets (703-09485

and 703-09487) to the right portion of the rear bumper

with two 1⁄-inch long hex screws (710-0805) and flange

lock nuts (712-04063). Insert two ⁄-inch thick spacers

(750-0258) in between the frame and the inner bracket. Do

not tighten the hardware at this time. See Figure 1-6.

Note: If the unit is equipped with a grass collector, secure

the brackets with two 1⁄-inch long hex screws and insert

two additional ⁄-inch spacers (750-0890) in the rear of the

bagger support bracket. See Figure 1-7.

5. Fully retract the actuator rod by threading it inward until

you feel resistance.

11. Secure the lift link to the inside face of lift bracket using a

shoulder bolt (738-0507B), 1⁄-inch OD flat washer (736-

0179) and flange lock nut (712-04065). See Figure 1-10.

Important: The shoulder bolt must slide freely in the slot.

12. With the lift link shoulder bolt positioned in the rear of the

slot, unthread the lift coupling until its cross holes align

with the hole in the actuator rod. Secure the coupling in

place with the clevis pin (711-0231), but do not insert the

cotter pin yet. See Figure 1-11.

13. Remove any wood blocks and shims from beneath the

deck.

14. Install cotter pin (714-0115) into clevis pin to secure the

coupling to the actuator rod.

15. Thread the jam nut securely to the coupling to prevent it

from moving. Tighten to 680 in-lbs.

16. Remove the existing lift handle from the machine by

removing the two hex screw and flange lock nuts that

secure it. See Figure 1-12. Retain the mounting screws.

Discard the flange lock nuts.

17. Position the new lift handle assembly in place and secure

it using the two hex screws removed earlier and two (new)

flange lock nuts (712-04063). See Figure 1-13.

18. Locate the .85-inch x 1.5-inch debossed area of the switch

panel on the right-hand pod. Carefully cut out this area

with a utility knife.

Important: To ensure proper switch operation after

installation, file the edges of the cut area square and to size.

See Figure 1-14.

19. Insert the actuator switch (725-04704) into the cut-out area

with its terminal facing outward.See Figure 1-14.

Note: Do not force the switch in the cut-out area. It should

easily snap into a correctly sized opening.

20. Route the connector end of the kit’s wire harness (725-

06136) through the rectangular cross brace hole and up to

the actuator switch. See Figure 1-15. Plug the wire harness

connector into switch.

21. Plug the wire harness’ accessory connector into the

accessory port found on the main wire harness under the

seat box near the front, left-side of the battery.

22. Connect the kit’s wire harness to the battery terminals,

Red to Positive and Black to Negative, using two sems nuts

(712-0271).

23. Connect the actuator’s power lead to the wire harness.

Note: The actuator’s power lead is cable tied for packaging.

Do not cut the cable tie; the excess length of the power

lead is not needed for this application.

24. Secure the excess actuator wire lead to side frame rail using

the clamp (726-0272) and ⁄-inch long self-tapping screw

(710-04484). See Figure 1-16.

25. Secure the throttle cable and choke cable away from the lift

link using cable tie mounted through the hole found in the

bracket. See Figure 1-17.

26. Secure the lift switch wire lead to the main wire harness

with a cable tie (725-0157), away from the moving handle.

27. Secure the lift kit’s wire harness relay box to the main wire

harness with a cable tie (725-0157).

28. Plug the PTO switch back in (if unplugged) and pivot the

right-hand control panel downward, back into the slots

in the pod. Secure the panel with two plastic rivets (728-

0199).

29. Test the kit’s operation by turning the ignition key into the

accessory position and cycling the deck down and up. If

the deck’s operation movement is opposite (i.e. it raises

when the switch is pushed forward), then the switch was

installed incorrectly. Remove the switch, rotate it 180° and

reinstall it. With th control panel in place, check the throttle

cable, choke cable and wire harnesses for interference and

make sure there is no binding in the link assembly.

Note: If the lift handle assembly does not freely drop to the

lowest position, it may be necessary to reduce the tension

on the left-hand (deck) lift-assist spring. To do so, locate

the tensioning screw that secures the spring and unthread

it approximately 16 rotations counter-clockwise (refer to

Figure 1-19). This will create a one-inch gap between the

spring and the bracket and allow the lift handle assembly

to drop.

30. Reinstall the rear-right wheel.

31. Carefully remove the floor jack and jack stand.

32. Tighten the lug nuts to between 350 in-lbs. and 500 in-lbs.

Operation

1. Using the actuator switch, raise the cutting deck to its

highest position.

Note: When raising the cutting deck, it is normal to hear a

ratcheting sound at the end of the actuator stroke.

2. Insert the cutting height pin into the hole in the index

bracket best suited for your application.

3. Using the actuator switch, lower the cutting deck. It will

automatically stop in the position indicated by cutting

height pin.

Note: Prior to removing the cutting deck for any reason (e.g.

service, maintenance, cleaning, etc.), release all tension from the

left-hand (deck) lift-assist spring. Refer to Figure 1-19.
