1. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.
Improper handling or operation of this unit may result in injury or damage to property.
Read all of these instructions before using the fixation unit. Also, be sure to follow all warnings and
instructions marked on the machine
When choosing a location for this fixation unit.
Avoid places subject to rapid changes in temperature and humidity. Also keep it away from direct
sunlight, strong light, or heat sources.
Avoid places subject to shocks and vibrations.
Place this product near the fixation unit where the plug can be easily unplugged.
Keep this fixation unit away from dusty areas.
Place this machine on a flat, stable surface that is larger than this product. This product will not operate
properly if it is tilted or at an angle.
Connect to an electric outlet that complies with this machine's ratings (for voltage, frequency, and
current). Incorrect voltage or insufficient current may cause fire or electric shock.
Never use this fixation unit out of doors or in any location where exposure to water or high humidity
may occur. Never touch with wet hands. Doing so may result in fire or electric shock.
Never place any flammable object nearby. Never use a combustible aerosol spray nearby. Never use
in any location where gases can accumulate. Combustion or explosion may occur.
When using an extension cord or power strip, use one that adequately satisfies the machine's ratings
(for voltage, frequency, and current). Use of multiple electric loads on a single electric outlet or of a
lengthy extension cord may cause fire.
Connect it to ground. This can prevent fire or electric shock due to current leakage in the event of
malfunction.
Position it so that the power plug is within immediate reach at all times. This is to enable quick
disconnection of the power plug in the event of an emergency. Install the machine next to an electric
outlet. Also, provide enough empty space to allow immediate access to the electric outlet.
When setting up this fixation unit.
Avoid electrical outlets controlled by wall switches or automatic timers.
Connect all equipment to properly grounded power outlets. Avoid using outlets on the same circuit as
copiers or air control systems that regularly switch on and off.
Keep the entire computer system away from potential sources of electromagnetic interference, such
as loudspeakers or the base units of cordless telephones.
Use only the type of power source indicated on the product’s label.
Use only the power cord that comes with this product. Use of another cord may result in fire or electric
shock.
Do not use a damaged or frayed power cord.
This product’s power cord is for use with this product only. Use with other equipment may result in fire
or electric shock.
Connect all equipment to properly grounded power outlets. Avoid using outlets on the same circuit as
copiers or air control systems that regularly switch on and off.
Entrust operations such as transportation, unloading, and emplacement to trained technicians.
Handling requires special equipment and training. Performing operations in an unreasonable manner
may result in a major accident.
Install the fixation unit in a location that is level, stable, and able to bear the weight of the machine.
Installation in an unsuitable location may cause major accidents, including tip-over, fall, or collapse.
Be sure to anchor the stand to the floor. If the machine begins to topple, a major accident may follow,
including crushing of the appendages or the body.

When using this fixation unit.
Keep children away from the unit. The machine includes areas and components that pose a hazard to
children and may result in injury, blindness, choking, or other serious accident.
Never operate the machine while tired or after ingesting alcohol or any medication. Operation requires
unimpaired judgment. Impaired judgment may result in an accident.
Never use the machine for any purpose for which it is not intended, or use the machine in an undue
manner that exceeds its capacity. Doing so may result in injury or fire.
For accessories (optional and consumable items, AC adapter, power cord…), use only genuine articles
compatible with this machine. Incompatible items may lead to an accident.
When attempting cleaning, maintenance, or attachment or detachment of optional items, follow the
instructions given in this manual. Incorrect operation or handling may result in injury or electric shock.
Never attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the fixation unit. Doing so may result in fire, electric
shock, or injury. Entrust repairs to a trained service technician.
Exercise caution to avoid being pinched or becoming caught. Inadvertent contact with certain areas
may cause the hand or fingers to be pinched or become caught. Use care when performing operations.
Never attempt operation while wearing a necktie, necklace, or loose clothing. Bind long hair securely.
Such items may become caught in the machine, resulting in injury.
Conduct operations in a clean, brightly lit location. Working in a location that is dark or cluttered may
lead to an accident, such as becoming caught in the machine as the result of an inadvertent stumble.
Never climb or lean on the machine. The machine is not made to support a person. Climbing or leaning
on the machine may dislodge components and cause a slip or fall, resulting in injury.
Always keep a safety distance of approximately 30 centimeters (12 inches) all around the fixation unit.
Never allow any foreign object to get inside. Never expose it to liquid spills. Inserting objects such as
coins or matches or allowing beverages to be spilled into the ventilation ports may result in fire or
electric shock. If anything gets inside, immediately disconnect the power cord and contact your
authorized dealer.
If sparking, smoke, burning odor, unusual sound, or abnormal operation occurs, immediately unplug
the power cord. Never use if any component is damaged. Continuing to use the machine may result in
fire, electric shock or injury. Contact your authorized dealer.
Caution: high temperatures. Exercise caution to avoid fire or burns.
Do not attempt to service this product yourself.
Do not insert objects through the slots. Take care not to spill liquid on this product.
Do not block or cover the openings in this product’s case.
