DTIV is a twin conductor
heating cable with polyethylene outer
sheath, designed for installation in
drinking water pipes.
devi ex
™
DTIV can be installed in
existing as well as new pipes.
When devi ex
™
DTIV is installed
in pipes, a reliable and troublefree
supply of water is ensured at all times
without freezing over.

Generel installation instructions
The following instructions must be
observed when installing devi ex
™
DTIV heating cables:
The heating cable should be
properly connected to the main
electrical source.
Connection of the heating cable
must be made by an authorized
electrician.
The maximum effect for the
different installations and operating
effects must be observed.
The heating cable must not be
pulled through valves and must
be protected against excess strain
and tension.
The heating cable’s bending
diameter must not be less than 6 x
the cables own diameter.
The heating cable’s screen must
be earthed in accordance with the
local electricity laws.
The heating cable must not be cut
or exposed to strain in the areas
of the cold cable coupling or end
coupling.

The whole heating cable, except
the connection box and cold cable
must be placed inside the water
pipe.
When turning on the heating cable
ensure that the pipe is containing
water.
The heating cable’s resistance
value should be measured after
the installation. The heating cable’s
resistance value should be as
stated on the coupling label: -5
- +10%.
Heating cables installed in water
pipes must be connected via a
RCD.
It must be possible to turn the
heating cable off. We recommend
a devireg
™
thermostat (see later).
A piece of non conductive tape
must be placed between the
sensor and the pipe
The cable must be installed accor-
ding to local installation regulation.

The optimal control of devi ex
™
heating cables is achieved by using
devireg
™
electronic thermostat.
devireg
™
thermostats give a quick
and effective regulation and take
into consideration both comfort and
economy.
There are a wide variety of devireg
™
thermostats which can be chosen
according to the demands of the indi-
vidual installation.
The sensor cable can be exten-
ded with up to 50 m with a 0.75
mm².cable.

without unreasonable delay to the
customer.
The
warranty only covers con-
nections made by authorised electri-
cians and installations performed
in accordance with the installation
instruction, and does not cover faults
caused by incorrect designs supplied
by others, misuse, damage caused
by others, or incorrect installation or
any subsequent damage, that may
occur. If
is required to inspect or
repair any defects caused by any of
the above, then all work will be fully
chargeable.
The
warranty is void, if payment
of the equipment is in default.
At all times, we at
will respond
honestly, ef ciently and promtly to all
queries and resonable requests from
our customers.
The above mentioned warranty con-
cerns product liability whereas mat-
ters in relation to legislation on sale
of goods shall be referred to national
law.
You have purchased a devi ex
™
cable, which we are certain will
increase your comfort and economy.
If, however, contrary to all expecta-
tions, a problem should occur with
your heating system, we at
, with
manufacturing units in Denmark, are,
as European Union suppliers, are
subject to general product liability
rules, as stated in Directive 85/374/
CEE, and all relevant national laws
which implies that:

year period against defects in mate-
rial and production.
The guarantee is granted

that the WARRANTY

distributor.
Please note, that the wording of the
WARRANTY CERTIFICATE must be
provided in english or local language
with the ISO code for your country in
the upper left corner of the front page
of the installation instruction in order
to release the warranty.
The obligation of

or supply a new unit, free of
charge to the customer, whitout
secondary charges linked to repairing
