Important notes, please observe!
•This unit is meant to amplify and
reproduce digital and analogue audio
signals as well to receive radio
broadcasting. Using it in any other way
invalidates the warranty and you risk
electric shock.
•Never attempt to open the housing of your
receiver or to service the product beyond
that described in this manual. All servicing
or repair must be referred to qualified
service personnel authorised by us.
•To avoid the risk of electric shock never
use the product in humid areas or near
water - e.g. near a bathtub, washbowl,
kitchen sink, in a wet basement or near a
swimming pool, or the like.
•Proper air circulation around the
housing - especially on top - must be
provided to avoid overheating. Please
keep a clearance of at least 10cm.
•This unit is intended for use with the
mains voltage indicated on the unit’s
back label. Never try to use it with
different voltage supply.
•If objects have fallen inside or liquid
has been spilt onto the product disconnect
the plug from the mains immediately and
consult qualified service personnel.
•Never let children play with the unit or
stick anything into it. Otherwise they face
the risk of electric shock.
•Do not place the unit near strong
magnetic fields,water or heat.It
should not be exposed to direct sunlight
for a longer period. Avoid positions with
heavy dust or poor ventilation. The unit
should not be exposed to mechanical
vibrations or shock.
•After disconnection from the mains you
can use a soft damp cloth to clean the
housing. Don’t use strong cleansing
products.

About these instructions
The operation described here mainly refers to the use of the remote control handset (R/C).
Buttons with same or similar marking at the main unit have the same function like those of
the remote control (R/C).
Preparation for turning on
Place of erection
ØFor setting up the unit please choose a location with sufficient air circulation around. That
prevents overheating. Don’t expose the unit to direct sunlight or other heat sources.
ØDo not pile up other units on top of your receiver. That would block the vent holes and
cause the device to overheat.
Before using the remote control
1. Please open the battery compartment.
2. Insert two batteries (1,5 V, size AAA). Please
make sure the polarity matches the marks
inside the compartment. Otherwise the r/c will
not work and may be damaged. Replace the
cover.
3. Please point the r/c towards the main unit when
operating its buttons.
The r/c works properly in a distance below 5m
and in an angle of up to 60° of the front of the
unit. No obstacles may stand in the way
between r/c and infrared sensor.
ØShould the r/c start to work unreliably replace
both batteries. We recommend using alkaline
batteries.
ØBatteries should not be disposed by
ordinary refuse disposal. Please lead empty batteries towards appropriate
collecting points. Never throw batteries into fire.
ØIf you won’t use the r/c for some time, please remove the batteries from the
compartment, to prevent damage by leakage.

you can then control using the +/- keys
22. Input Mode - switches the available operation modes
23. TREBLE - calls the setting for the treble, the volume of which
you can then control using the +/- keys
24. DELAY TIME - for setting the delay time in Dolby digital or Dolby
Pro Logic operation
25. BASS MODE - select one of the two speaker pre-settings
26. TEST TONE - for the fine adjustment of the volumes in Dolby
digital or Dolby Pro Logic operation
27. SURROUND MODE - for selecting the surround operation modes “Movie”
or “Music”
28. STEREO - for changing the operation mode to “Stereo”
29. DOLBY PL II - for changing the operation mode to “Dolby Pro
Logic II”
30. DYNAMIC - press this key repeatedly in order to set the
desired dynamic compression
31. DTS/DOLBY DIGITAL - for changing the operation mode to “DTS/Dolby
Digital”

Connecting the antenna
For being able to receive radio programmes, connect the enclosed FM-projection
antenna for FM-reception and the AM-loop antenna for medium wave reception.
FM-antenna
For the FM-reception, please wind off the enclosed
projection antenna completely. Please push the
plug of the antenna on the central pin of the FM 75
ohm terminal. If your device is later working in
FM-operation, pass the antenna in such a way that
you achieve an optimal, noise-free reception.
If you connect an outside antenna, this antenna
must be grounded against lightning strikes. It is
essential that you discuss this matter with an
antenna expert. Never try to install an outside antenna on the roof of a house on
your own. This is very dangerous and may only be done by qualified service
experts.
AM-antenna
In order to install the enclosed medium wave antenna on a flat plane, assem-
ble it onto the stand as described in the following picture:
Connect the two connection wires of the medium wave antenna with the “AM
LOOP” terminals on the rear side of the receiver. Determine the optimal recepti-
on position of the antenna.
Tips:
ØIn order to avoid disturbing noises during medium wave reception, please keep the loop
antenna away from speakers and other technical equipment.
ØYou can also connect the cable network of the Telekom to the FM 75 ohm terminal. In
most cases, it transmits radio programmes as well.
