IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the
following:
This sewing machine is designed and manufactured for household use only.
Read all instructions before using this sewing machine.
DANGER— To reduce the risk of electric shock:
1. An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in. Always unplug
this sewing machine from the electric outlet immediately after using and before
cleaning.
WARNING— To reduce the risk of burns, re, electric shock, or injury to persons:
1. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when this sewing machine is used
by or near children.
2. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this owner’s manual.
Use only attachments recommended by the manufacturer as contained in this owner’s manual.
3. Never operate this sewing machine if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if
it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water.
Return this sewing machine to the nearest authorized dealer or service center for examination,
repair, electrical or mechanical adjustment.
4. Never operate the appliance with any air opening blocked. Keep ventilation openings of this
sewing machine and foot controller free from accumulation of lint, dust and loose cloth.
5. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
6. Do not use outdoors.
7. Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being
administered.
8. To disconnect, turn all controls to the off (“O”) position, then remove plug from outlet.
9. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
10. Keep ngers away from all moving parts. Special care is required around the sewing machine
needle and/or cutting blade.
11. Always use the proper needle plate. The wrong plate can cause the needle to break.
12. Do not use bent needles.
13. Do not pull or push fabric while stitching. It may deect the needle causing it to break.
14. Switch this sewing machine off (“O”) when making any adjustment in the needle area, such as
threading the needle, changing the needle, threading the bobbin or changing the presser foot, and
the like.
15. Always unplug this sewing machine from the electrical outlet when removing covers, lubricating, or
when making any other adjustments mentioned in this owner’s manual.
Please note that on disposal, this product must be safely recycled in accordance with relevant
National legislation relating to electrical/electronic products. If in doubt please contact your
retailer for guidance. (European Union only)

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards

intended to t in a polarized outlet only one way. If it
does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not t, contact a qualied electrician to install
the proper outlet.

sewing machine.
GETTING READY TO SEW
Connecting the Machine to the Power Supply
Controlling Sewing Speed
Sewing speed can be varied by the foot control.
The harder you press on the control, the faster the
machine runs.
Step on the foot control with the presser foot lifter up, and
practice controlling the speed.
NOTE:
Make sure to use the power supply cable that came
with the machine.
Wait for a while until the LED light turns on.
WARNING:
While in operation, always keep your eyes on the
sewing area, and do not touch any moving parts such
as the thread take-up lever, loopers, handwheel or
needle.
Always turn off the power switch and unplug the
machine from the power supply:
- when leaving the machine unattended.
- when attaching or removing parts.
- when cleaning the machine.
Do not place anything on the foot control.
zTurn off the power switch, and connect the machine
plug to the machine socket.
xConnect the power supply plug into the wall outlet.

Operating Instructions:
The symbol “O” on a switch indicates the “off” position
of the switch.

How to Turn the Handwheel
Always turn the handwheel toward you (counterclockwise).
Match the mark on the machine with the setting mark on
the handwheel when threading needles, turning the ne
mode switching lever or raising/lowering the top cover
stitch spreader.

Opening and Closing the Looper Cover
To open: (A)
Hold the looper cover with your thumb and slide it to the
right as far as it will go, then pull and open the looper
cover toward you.

To close: (B)
Lift the looper cover and push it against the machine.
The looper cover snaps into its original position
automatically.
Extension Table
The extension table provides added sewing surface and
can be easily removed for free arm sewing (refer to page
40).
Detaching the table:
Pull the table away from the machine.

Align the pins on the table with the holes in the machine.
Push the extension table until it snaps into the machine.

Presser Foot Lifter
The presser foot lifter raises and lowers the presser foot.
Raise the presser foot lifter before you thread the
machine.
You can raise the foot about 1.5 mm (1/16") higher than
the normal up position by exerting more pressure when
lifting the presser foot. This allows for changing the
needle plate and helps you to place layers of thick fabric.
Always lower the presser foot lifter when you start sewing.

NOTE:
• The left needle may be slightly out from the bottom
of the presser foot when inserting heavy fabrics
under the presser foot.
Be sure to insert the fabric under the presser foot
while supporting both sides of the fabric around the
presser foot.
Same applies when sewing is nished in the middle of
heavy weight fabrics.
• Tension disks open and the thread tension will be
released when the presser foot lifter is raised.

Retractable Sewing Light
In addition to the twin LED lights, the machine is
equipped with a retractable light.
Place your nger in the groove and slide the arm towards
you. The light will turn on automatically.

Push back the arm to turn the light off and store it.
CAUTION:
Do not hit or exert excessive force on the arm of the
retractable sewing light as this may cause damage
when it is extended.

Removing the Presser Foot
Turn off the power switch.
Turn the handwheel toward you to raise the needle to its
highest position.
Raise the presser foot lifter.
CAUTION:
Turn off the power switch when changing the presser
foot.
Replacing the Presser Foot
CAUTION:
Do not push the lever from the top.
Attaching the Presser Foot
Turn off the power switch.
Place the presser foot while lifting the presser foot lifter to
the extra lifted position, so that the pin on the foot lies just
under the groove of the foot holder (refer to page 6).
Lower the foot holder to lock the foot into place.
Raise the presser foot lifter to check that the presser foot
is secure.

Press the lever located on the back of the foot holder.
The presser foot will drop off.

Adjusting the Stitch Length
To adjust the stitch length, turn the stitch length dial.
The larger the number, the longer the stitch length.
The smaller the number, the shorter the stitch length.
•Set the dial at 3 for regular sewing.

Adjusting the Differential Feed Ratio
The differential feed ratio can be altered by turning the
differential feed dial.
The number on the dial indicates the ratio between the
main and the sub feed motion.
•Set the dial at 1.0 for regular sewing.
•Set the dial at a lower number when sewing ne fabrics
that tend to pucker.
•Set the dial at a higher number when sewing stretch
fabrics such as knits, jersey and tricot.

Adjusting the Presser Foot Pressure
It is not necessary to adjust the presser foot pressure for
regular sewing.
When sewing heavyweight fabrics, increase the foot
pressure by turning the adjusting screw in the direction of
“+”.
When sewing lightweight fabrics, decrease the foot
pressure by turning the adjusting screw in the direction of
“–”.
After sewing, return the adjusting screw to normal
position.
For regular sewing, align the line on the screw with the
top surface of the machine.
